Worst gym I’ve ever been to in my life! Very unprofessional and unfriendly staff. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to attend this gym, because managers don’t know what they sell, their job is just to sell. I ended up with a useless membership that I can’t use without swimming pool and spa (that were promised), an arrogant and aggressive behaviour from the staff. There are a lot of other better standards and quality gyms in Rome.

Looking for a high level and high quality gym? Virgin Active Via Mantova isn’t what you looking for! It’s overpriced gym with unprofessional staff and dirty changing rooms.

Love this gym in Rome! I am using it for a month. Has everything you need. You do need a medical certificate from an Italian doctor which was a little complicated But is standard in Italy. You can see a doctor at the gym or the front desk staff helped me book a doctor down the road

Rude reception staff and even worst at managerial level. BE CAREFUL when your sign your contract, it’s get renewed automatically.. and of course they don’t tell you that (small print). So Italy… and no, you can only cancel your contract if you are dying basically. Not with “a document” as stated below

The gym is great unlike the people working there. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER, UNPROFESSIONAL and ARROGANT. Each member of the team says something different regarding the membership and the benefits. Customer is always right but not in Via Mantova where I have been attacked multiple times by the staff who is apparently famous for being rude and for denying things previously promised. Just go to a different club if you do not want to have any “misinterpretations”

The gym is proper however the customer service is terrible. I cancelled my subscription a year ago and the gym continued to bill me regardless. Countless email simply never answered. Would not suggest unless you count on keeping your subscription for the rest of your life.

I am a member at two Virgin Active gyms - one in London Kensington and this one in Rome - I don't know why I pay two costly memberships for so little in return. I never felt welcome at the Via Mantova gym - the attitude of the class teachers can be arrogant to the point of being off putting and occasionally it has felt physically intImidating - All the nicer classes are constantly fully booked - The gym floor can get awfully crowded - I will not be renewing my membership here I am sad to say

It's a gem of a gym. I have no idea how anyone could leave a negative review. 1. Front desk staff were sweet and attentive. 2. Very traveler friendly. I think if you're going for a single day pass it's $50eu (which is what Equinox charges in the USA for a day pass!) and of you're going for three days in a row it's $35eu each day. This is VERY reasonable give the facilities and amenities. 3. The facility and amenities are top notch. 4. The connected restaurant/Cafe is similarly exceptional and cheap comparatively to the rest of Rome (probably because it's meant for Romans and not tourists) Tips: 1. Bring a hand towel to use at the gym. You can check out a shower towel at front desk 2. Bring a water water. There isn't a water fountain but there is a filtered water dispenser 3. No masks required when I went (August 2022) 👌 4. Definitely check out the attached restaurant/cafe

Outrageous pricing (150 USD for 10 visits) and you apparently need a doctor's note to be able to work out. Doesn't matter if you're a CPT from another country or can bench 2 plates with perfect form. Giving 3 stars instead of 1 just because they have decent customer service unlike most of the other gyms around here.

Expensive for a casual entry, 35 Euros one entry, one day.

I’ve had an excellent experience at Virgin Active. The facilities are top-notch, with a great variety of equipment and cleanliness maintained at high standard. The standout, however, is the exceptional staff, particularly my friend Simonetta, one of the trainers. Her dedication and expertise significantly enhance the gym atmosphere. The entire gym is friendly a welcoming environment. The range of classes adds a nice touch, making it easy to diversify workouts. Overall, I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quality fitness experience!
