Fascinating look at many aspects of Rome in one spot. I originally was just playing to stop by a few minutes at Piazza on my way to the Vatican. However I was impressed with the many elements, sights and sounds there and ended spending over an hour just wondering around. The intriguing thing I found is watching all the people from tourists, to locals to buskers to people selling all mixed in this large open space. There was no less than 6 different musicians playing the afternoon I was there, each with a completely different instrument and music. Listening to them while wandering around, looking at the fountains was quite relaxing despite the large amount of people. Didn't have time to stop for food, and I don't know how the various restaurants are, but it would be a treat to have a drink while people watching.

Amazing scenery will greet you around all four corners of this Piazza... social environment for people who you'll see dancing, singing, performing different arts and just having a good time next to the ocean. A lot of people also take their dogs for walks here, which is nice. We also saw a lot of people jogging or exercising in groups on the waters edge. Always helps to have a nice view while training. You will also see alot of sailboats and smaller boats on this side of the harbor. Water taxi's are also something to experience. Helping people get across the harbors waters with no effort. Awesome place and a must visit, especially if you have a guide to give you the detail and historical facts about this place. Very cool to see and experience

Located in the heart of Rome, Piazza Navona is one of the most iconic squares in the city. With its incredible Baroque architecture and famous fountains, this square is a true historical gem. You can stroll along the arcades, enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and admire extraordinary works of art. The three splendid fountains, including the famous Fountain of the Four Rivers, add a touch of magic to this place. During the day, the square is animated by street artists, street vendors and tourists. In the evening, the restaurants and bars around the square create a romantic and lively atmosphere. Ultimately, Piazza Navona is a place that captures the essence of Rome and offers an unforgettable experience to anyone who visits. I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful historic square.

An amazing plaza in all of Rome with many restaurants, shops and views. The fountains within the piazza are very lovely and stunning and offer some very picturesque and excellent photo opportunities for any tourist visiting the city.

This square - the site of an ancient hippodrome, thus the very elongated shape - has hall the hallmarks of a very popular meeting point, being very central and having an obelisk, beautiful fountains and a splendid baroque church. After being there you'll understand just as I did why it is so famous.

This is a good place to go to see the wonders of Rome. The architecture is remarkable and restaurants surrounding it are delicious. I would like to mention there are quite a few people who are looking to sell touristy products and that threw me off a little at the beginning but if you just keep walking they will leave you alone. Otherwise definitely a place that should be high on your list to check out.

Piazza Navona is an absolute gem in the heart of Rome, Italy. As a tourist wandering through its expansive space, I was immediately struck by the lively atmosphere and the stunning Baroque art and architecture. The Fountain of the Four Rivers, with its impressive sculptures, is a masterpiece by Bernini that dominates the piazza. Each statue represents a river from a different continent, a testament to the global reach of the Roman Empire. Street artists, musicians, and quaint cafes add to the vibrant ambiance, making it a perfect spot to enjoy an espresso while soaking in the local culture. The surrounding buildings, with their intricate facades, offer a glimpse into Rome's rich history. Visiting Piazza Navona was a highlight of my Rome trip, offering both a feast for the eyes and a delightful cultural experience.

I stumbled upon the Piazza Navona when I was making my way back to my hotel from the Vatican. It was mid morning and the Piazza was already full of people, mostly tourists enjoying the beautiful weather. The fountain was fabulous. I wished I would have had more time. Since it was Sunday it wasn't possible to visit the church since the service was still going on. Guess I'll have to go back to Rome for another visit. So much to see there it's impossible to do it all in one trip.

Another great stop in a tour of squares and open air monuments in Rome. This can be a serene and spacious place, a good option to sit around and watch people passing by. The fountains and monuments are wonderful and rich in details. The Brazilian embassy seems to be nearby but, overall, just a fantastic site to fully observe the majestic architecture of Rome.

One of our favorite stops in Rome! It's a nice and large square, so it feels less crowded and you're able to have a little spot for yourself. The fountains are absolutely beautiful and breathtaking. Well worth a visit!

Site of the former ancient Roman circus Piazza Navona is deservedly described as one of the most beautiful plazas in the world. Lined with cafes and restaurants Piazza Navona is both lively as well as visually pleasing. A definite must when visiting Rome.

This was probably my favorite area of Rome. It was a large area with nice vendors and shoppes. At night it was lit up and beautiful looking. The fountain is the best in the city. It is magical and makes you smile with wide eyes. There are many restaurants in the square and in the surrounding streets there are numerous more places to shop and eat. Very nice area of Rome. This is one of those places that lets you escape the so-called hot spots that are just rumored to be better. A must visit.

Great place to meet people and visit the Christmas market or other holiday themed market. The Italians really know how to do a Piazza. The point is to attract people. America has empty squares. It is because there has to be a reason to go there. With all the shops, a fountain, the restaurants and even an Egyptian obelisk! The church there is also very beautiful. This place does get busy. Early morning is best for vacant shots, but it also looks good bustling with people as most successful gathering places do. You may find yourself searching for the one store and wind up passing through here a few times on you trip. Like any tourist destination, the restaurants here operate on the location, location, location principle to formulate their prices. There may be better food elsewhere, but not with as good a people watching fun as Piazza Navona. This is a definite visit.

Cool area with many shops and galeteria’s nearby. Looks cute in the mornings as not many people are here. It’s free to visit so quite nice for photos. Also nice in the evening to relax and have some food. Worth a visit if nearby in Roma.

It has been described as one of the most beautiful plazas in the world, and deservedly so, in my opinion. Piazza Navona is lined with cafes, and restaurants is lively day and night as well as visually pleasing. A definite must when visiting Rome

My favorite square in the world. 100% quality sculptured fountains, surrounded by great Italian architecture. And the cafes on the Plaza, and in the adjacent blocks, are welcoming and fun. Piazza Navona, Trevi Fountain and the Borghese Gallery make Rome sing. And for the weekend visit Tuscany.

Piazza Navona is a Roman delight! The bustling square boasts elegant fountains, charming cafes, and street artists. It's a hub of energy and culture. Surrounded by Baroque architecture, it's a picturesque spot for a leisurely stroll. Don't miss the lively ambiance and historic charm of this must-see destination!

Piazza Navona is pure magic. The moment I stepped onto the cobblestones, I was captivated by the stunning fountain and the lively atmosphere. Sitting at a cafe, sipping espresso, and watching artists at work felt like stepping back in time. The square's charm is irresistible, making it one of my favorite spots in Rome.

The famous plaza in Rome. The fountains are especially beautiful but mind the sun in the noon it can be scorching hot out there. The restaurants are pretty pricey (of course you have to pay the view) and offer sub par food quality. But all in all worth a visit.

Beautiful place in Rome. Was just wandering around the town and made it to this piazza. The fountains have such detailed statues with a lot of meaning behind it. There are benches to sit if you want to just admire the art. Not too busy during the day. Recommend giving it a look.

This is the most beautiful square in the world. Day, night, afternoon, Navona has a different personality every time you visit, but it’s always majestic and beautiful. You can’t visit Rome and skip this.

Another worthy visit in Rome. To be fair, the fountains, monuments and cafes are not quite as famous as some other parts of Rome but the sum of each together is worth a visit. Have a drink at one of the bars and enjoy the world going buy. It's a popular tourist spot so will get very busy.

"Piazza Navona in Rome is a captivating blend of Baroque beauty and lively atmosphere. The stunning fountains, most notably Bernini's masterpiece, create a picturesque setting. The piazza is alive with street performers and charming cafes. A must-visit, offering a quintessential Roman experience."

During my recent visit to Piazza Navona, I found the atmosphere to be vibrant with a mix of locals and tourists. The historical architecture and fountains added charm to the square. However, the crowded conditions made it challenging to fully appreciate the surroundings. Overall, it's a must-visit for its cultural significance, but be prepared for the bustling crowds.

Such a beautiful place! The fountains and the carousel were all so beautiful! Very few stalls for Christmas markets but whatever they had was very good and reasonable. We ended up doing most of our shopping at the markets here!

Nice place to visit. It’s an open place so no need for tickets. Best to visit in daylight. You will find a lot of restaurants nearby and many shops to buy souvenirs. Come with a companion who can click your photographs for the memory.

A don't miss Piazza that's only 85% tourist driven. There are 2 fountains to admire, the Neptune fountain by Bernini its exceptional. We had a great lunch in Restaurant Bernini.

As with all of Rome, the architecture of buildings, fountains, and monuments were amazing! Lots of restaurants and bars in the area. BEWARE: Taxis will attempt to price gouge. We were quoted $28 Euros for a ride back to the apartment, but was able to book a taxi through Uber for only $13.50.

We didn't expect it to be so huge inside. It's really nice with a lot of restaurants and fountains. Had some good coffee and deserts too. It wasn't overly crowded like some places.

Beautiful Piazza to visit. It doesn’t get too crowded on the outskirts, but the central fountain tends to get busy. But you’ll still be able to get to the frontlines and take a photo. Lots of food and drinks options in the vicinity, so don’t stress on the really hot days!

  • 5/5 Julen A. 7 months ago on Google
It's a stunning piazza to explore. There's an abundance of restaurants catering to breakfast, lunch, or dinner. During the day, shade is somewhat scarce, but by night, with the enchanting lighting, it transforms into a magical place. I dined here often, and the ambiance was always delightful. Mornings tend to get quite busy, thanks to the numerous tourist tours passing through. If you found this review helpful, please click the 'like' button.

Considered "a main square" of Rome and thus definitely a must see of the city. Be aware, it is very hot place during summer, I recommend to drink much water and spend as much time as possible in shadow. The place has many restaurants, bars and cafes in the victinity and it is a perfect place for a walk or a sit down.

There are 3 fountains and 1 enormous basilica to check out here. The plaza feels a little like a fair with the vendors in tents, carnival games, and merry-go-round. Plenty of eating options around the perimeter. The Egyptian obelisk was an impressive sight. The inside of the basilica was also impressive with all of the frescos, sculptures, and architectural details throughout. There's a skull in the back left corner in one of the chapels that was neat to see. No tickets required for entry into the plaza or basilica.

It's decent enough and a good space to stop and relax in during your day walking, but there are better piazzas and fountains to see. Also, mega windy as it's a wind trap and it feels like the restaurants are quite touristy nearby. Definitely worth walking through on your way though

  • 4/5 Carole D. 1 year ago on Google
What a beautiful piazza. Surrounded by tall terraced buildings in every shade from pink to terracotta with a huge range of cafes and restaurants. Two beautiful fountains cascade from carved structures depicting figures of Italys past. A delight!

This bustling large piazza feels like a perfect window into the "Rome" experience - although it's admittedly a bit touristy. It is a fantastic place to sit and people-watch while you enjoy a beverage or a meal. There are three different fountains, the Four Rivers Fountain, the Neptune Fountain, and the Fountain of the Moor -- all worth taking some time to appreciate. We stayed in an AirBnb just a block away, which turned out to be a fabulous location as home-base for our stay in Rome. It's especially beautiful at night.

A beautiful square with am amazing basilica! The fountains are really amazing, and there is a cool museum to visit north of the square! It explains the entire history and totally worth checking out. Its about 1-2 hours worth visiting, its €7-9 per person but definitely worth the experience. For the rest the square has all kinds of restaurants and shops.

No wonder the place is out of 6 best things to do in Rome. It is very impressive, specially the statues around. The place is always flooded with tourists and still is never too crowded, as it is in very open space. Must visit in Rome.

  • 4/5 Skylar S. 8 months ago on Google
An absolutely beautiful plaza. Well kept and has some great history if you choose to look into it. However, I'm marking it down a star due to the constant harassment of street sellers and even the restaurants surrounding the plaza trying to get you to buy stuff when honestly, we just want to view the architecture and at our own pace, not interrupted every 30 seconds by people nagging us to buy stuff.

One of the nicest spots in Rome; such a perfect place for an afternoon stroll and a good coffee. Local artists gather here and I love that it isn't as crowded as other squares in the city. It has a couple of beautiful fountains, an incredible church and such positive vibe. Definitely a place to visit.

One of the few squares in Rome where you can have a drink or eat something. Great history behind the square what used to be a race track. Different buildings all around on those days but it still has the shape.

Piazza Navona in Rome, Italy, is a delightful square that captivated me with its stunning fountain in the middle. The tall fountain is a true marvel, adding charm and beauty to the vibrant atmosphere of the square. Surrounded by impressive architecture and lively cafes, Piazza Navona is a must-visit destination to soak in the enchanting ambiance of Rome.

One of the largest squares in Rome, this location offers something for everybody. Sites, sounds, smells ... sensory overload. This is a place to relax and people watch since there is no shortage of people. In the center square, you will find artists galore surrounded by restaurants, cafes, interesting shops of all types. The cathedral (St Agnese) is simply magnificent and open to the public to wander through for pics and selfies. We enjoyed a small quartte of violin, cello and piano performing Vivaldi's Four Seasons in a small chapel for an extra charge which was completely worth the time and 20€. This is a must visit location when in Rome. There are so many sites to see but definitely make this one of them.

Such a nice public square where you can see the works by Bernini and Borromini. A great place to rest and people watch. Any time is the best time to visit as the piazza looks so different throughout the day. Lots of restaurants around. I come here every time when I visit Rome. Enjoy your visit. (July 2022)

Breathtaking piazza, mentioned in all the guide books certainly lived up to reputation. A central monument and fountains ⛲ either end makes for a spectacular scene. Plenty of places to eat, some expensive, much cheaper just off the piazza. There are some very nice shops also in and around. The piazza almost links the Pantheon mid way and the market at the southern end. We visited it twice on our short stay and were impressed by its grandeur. Our only complaint as with many of the sites, it's not very well signposted. But possibly made it more spectacular to just come across it! Go seek it out and you'll know what we mean. Well worth it.

Of the many gorgeous sites to visit in Rome, this is one of my favorites. It’s obvious that the sculptures are absolute perfection and simply stunning so aside from that, the area is quite large and full of tourists. There’s a lot of opportunities for photography, dining and dessert options. There also seemed to be enough security when I was visiting which felt very reassuring. Would definitely recommend this site to anyone on their visit to Rome.

During the brief time I spent at Piazza Navona in Rome, I was impressed by its architectural beauty and lively atmosphere. Impressive baroque square that splashes it's grandeur statues of gods and humans onto passers-by. Best viewed from one of the numerous tiny cafes with cafè latte (it's just coffee with milk in Italy)

It is is funny that you can rate anything so special :) anyway one of the most beautiful piazzas in the world. Also very convenient when you travel with kids to have your aperol on a terrace and kids can run. No traffic, street musicians, painters. Of course food is very touristy and overpriced but sometimes it s ok in a such beautiful place in a such sunny day or pleasant evening

Another historical must see place in Rome during the tour of the most memorable places. The square is spacy, contains several beautiful fountains and offers solid selection of nearby annuities such as shops and restaurants. Definitely a must see also thanks to its short distance from Pantheon.

This Piazza or Square was bustling with activity as you can imagine. The restaurants can be pretty pricey as they are touristy but we very much enjoyed our late dinner which I will review as well. There are a lot of street vendors that can be somewhat aggressive so keep you eye out. The fountains are beautiful (Fontana Del Moro and Fountain of Neptune) so this is a must visit!
