A
deep
and
meaningful
coffee.
Google
Maps,
thank
you
for
shining
your
satellite
on
The
Rustic
Cafe,
when
I
was
checking
out
nearby
cafes.
It's
been
ages
since
I
visited
Acocks
Green.
I
have
rose
tinted
memories
of
the
area,
especially
Acocks
Green
Bowl
that
I
used
to
frequent
as
a
teenager.
Back
in
the
90's
a
game
of
bowling
was
£1!
good
times.
I
digress.
As
I
walked
through
the
tail
end
of
Storm
Eunice,
I
impressed
upon
The
Rustic
Café.
The
beauty
of
its
exterior
was
like
a
warm
glow.
I
entered
and
the
warmth
was
upped
a
notch
thanks
to
the
welcoming
staff.
I
took
a
look
around
to
appreciate
the
interior,
a
clash
of
colourful,
lacquered,
rustic
tables
hit
by
ceiling
strung,
modern
jarred
lighting.
It's
a
cosy
place.
I
took
a
look
over
the
shoulder
of
the
staff
to
see
a
La
Cimbali
espresso
machine...
A
lovely
piece
of
espresso
technology.
I
explicitly
requested
their
finest
flat
white
with
latte
art.
The
staff
responded
with
"I'll
try
my
best".
A
response
I
love
to
hear.
I
don't
care
how
much
barista
training
you've
had,
if
you
put
effort
into
latte
art
it
indicates
to
me
that
you
care
about
coffee.
The
coffee
isn't
artisanal,
but
it
was
a
thing
of
beauty
thanks
to
the
colourful
ergonomic
mug.
I
began
chatting
to
the
staff
member.
It
wasn't
small
talk,
it
was
a
chat
about
life
that
delved
into
human
vulnerability.
I
learnt
a
lot
as
a
consequence.
And
I
wonder
why
I
love
popping
into
coffee
shops.
I
will
have
to
return.
The
staff
are
soon
to
have
barista
training.
I
can't
wait
to
see
what
latte
art
they
have
mastered.
