Saladin Citadel is this breathtaking castle that incorporates details from various periods - crusader, Franco-influence, Muslim occupation - and so evokes lots of historic detailing. It is hidden in between the greenest mountain forests overlooking expansive valleys. The castle is enchanting to walk through - all the way up to the terrace where you get the best views. This was a joy to visit.

Really wonderful castle, Surrounded by charming landscapes. The whole place needs more attention and also developing all the tourist facilities around as well. regardless of that, it still an amazing place to visit .

Amazing moments in Cairo. Citadel of Saladin is a medieval Islamic-era fortification in Cairo, Egypt, built by Salahdin. This place is not crowded as Giza and demonstrated the Saladin and 19 century weapons.

Castle is one of the most beautiful and most magnificent castles, a view built during the Crusades by the Crusaders on the top of a mountain and around the valleys, where it is difficult to reach by the enemies and is easy to defend, and it is an impregnable fortress that protects the villages and neighboring lands. It is visited by thousands of visitors annually, but unfortunately it is not given the importance it deserves in terms of maintenance and attention, and the necessary tourism promotion is not given to it.

Nice Place, thrill drive to reach it. Needs some improvements, lighting, refurbishment and landscaping. As known fact, Assad's regime corruption, represented by Ministry of Tourism will never do any effort to enhance Syrian sightseeing.

One of the most amazing historic buildings I've seen. Partly due to the location but also the incredibly defensive structures

As I recall there are still stone balls in some rooms that fell there during a siege. The stone balls had been thrown by catapult and crashed through the walls. Nearly a 1000 years later they are still there too heavy to bother moving. This is a relatively safe castle to inspect, castles out in the desert can have yawning chasms where the unwary might fall in.

Where the custle 🏰 located is just a wonderful place , can show you how strong were the people who bulded it , from Salah elden castle you can see the another castl called almarqab at Baniyas , they were makeing fire 🔥 to send messages between the custles if any danger become close . The entrance of the custle is like magic , very big and high entrance which it was very very hard to capture the custle for the enemies , the European bulded it and then the Muslim leader Salah Aldeen captured the custle and named it on his name . The weather is cold in all seasons , the view is more than you can imagine . Syria , home sweet home 🏡

A historical treasure in Cairo. Better to get a guide for a hit more. However, it’s not organized well.
