Authentic Arabic food, beautiful decor. A time capsule that will transport you to the way Kuwait looked like years ago. We got the large mix grill, fatoush and majboos. Enough for 4 people You are also served with endless breads, salads, pickles and complimentary dessert. Our server was the sweetest!

Wonderful ambience, especially the private booths, which are designed like traditional Arabian homes/huts. Simple, yet great tasting Arabic food. Lovely service. Bathroom facilities could have been better managed though. Otherwise, i had a good experience.

We ate inside but there is plenty of seating outside with heaters. The service was quick with wonderful extras brought to the table. We ordered too much food but it was all so good. The restaurant is handicapped accessible. Come with a healthy appetite you will need it.

Freej Swaeleh is an undisputed leader in Kuwaiti food. The quality and consistency that they maintain is unbelievable...Tried their Large Mix grill platter, Tasty as always good enough for 3 ppl...Service wasn't their usual best, can't complain as it was a Friday evening..

Top notch majbous rice- every grain is infused with so much flavour, like its unbelievable!!! Excellent flavour in the hummous, the chicken, steak etc... (A big shout out to the entire team, especially Mr.Shamsunder...) The price is totally worth the food it gives out. (The only thing i would avoid is the line of tables right beside the road) 6 out of 5!

Delicious traditional Kuwait food😋 Don’t miss the mutton Majbos , and enjoy the free tea , Arabic coffee and geemat 😍 Taboula is not authentic taste , so don’t try it 🤭 Staff are hospitable but not will organized , so don’t have high expectations in customer service. (Customer service training to staff is highly recommended , including supervisors)

We usually come here every time we miss eating mutton or lamb. It’s so tasty even the rice is really good. I love the soup too! Staffs are approachable and very nice.

Best for chicken tikka and grill chicken. Best part of the restaurant is the food quality and hospitality. The waiters are really helpful and positive minded. They have dine in, take away and parking lot dining facilities. You can just sit in your car and they will serve you even better in parking lot inside your own cars with modified tray that sits between doors of your car.

You can try out this restaurant for a decent meal with a unique touch. The restaurant serves a mix of Kuwaiti, Indian, and Arabic flavors, providing an opportunity to experience something fresh. Although the place might not be overly fancy, the food does bring together interesting tastes from various cuisines. It's a straightforward option to enjoy a blend of flavors that could offer a pleasant surprise.

Needs no mention but the Majboos is next level. Had a great time at th3 amazing cabins. It offers privacy, taste, service and the arabic feel. Best place to visit be it family or friends. Book your tables early and eat early on the weekends as you may miss out on their delicious sweet balls as I call it. If you are a lover of flavour and variety then this place is one to try!..!

Best authentic kuwait tradition food I've tasted soo far. Very big potions 1 can be shared amongst 2 or 3 people. the tuna salad was delicious, food was amazing. The restaurant gets full might take a while to get a table requires patience but it's worth it 💯 i will advise to maybe go early or late like 11pm if u are going for dinner. If u get there and there's no table we have usher who take down your name and call it out if there's a table availability. Food is great am going back there again 😋

A very nice place. Always feel good to go there. Authentic Kuwaiti food and Arabic cuisine. Restaurant itself has a rich history. Decorated in a very unique way and Arabic style. Prices are good. Kababs are very tasty and platter is the best thing to get. The thing I dislike is that they serve the kababs and platter on Khubus (Roti), which is 99.9% wasted. They should serve it in a tray and wastage should be minimal

JUST AMAZING!! Loved the place, this place gives you the classic time vibes with their interior designed as the old era housing style, the food is just amazing, I know that when i come here "Majboos" is a must, the staffs are also really friendly, just one thing that i had to wait for some time before i got my dish, but it was worth it. They also give a complimentary welcoming sweet dish, and I absolutely love the concept. MAJBOOS WITH MUTTON: The mutton was cooked so well, It just melted in my hands. Their yellow safron rice with ghee (clarified butter) will make you bite your fingers 😍. The quantity for the price is just amazing, totally worth it. CHICKEN SOUP IN BREAD: I loved the concept of serving this soup in a boul of BREAD, yes, exactly in a bowl of bread 🥹. The soup alone is a main course in itself. Apart from their unique plating, it tastes just amazing. KABAB KHASHKHASH: If you are a kabab fan, then you must really try the Khashkhash kabab. It tastes amazing. It's no different from a regular kababa, but khashkhash kabab is served with crushed tomato plating, and for me, it's absolutely delicious. FOOD: 9.5/10 SERVICE: 8/10 AMBIANCE: 9/10

My first time at Fareej and I’m heavily impressed by the quality you get for such a low price! From the moment we sat down, we were greeted with a complimentary starter that consisted of rocket leaves 🍃 with 3 tasty dips. The cocktail drink was great and the chicken tikka was rich in flavor and cooked perfectly. The fresh bread is top tier 🍞 The rice could’ve been more rich in flavor but was still good enough, the chicken in the rice dish was a little dry too. Some umbrellas in the exterior area would’ve made the experience better, but overall I highly recommend this place if you’re interested in trying kuwaiti food 🇰🇼

Loved the place and atmosphere. Its consider authentic kuwaity food. But It was very busy on Friday night, people waiting and scrambling everywhere in between the 3 different levels. Please work on the system to organize the wait for better experience

I had food many times from this place so the best thing u can order is mutton majboos. The chicken is ok but the mutton just has more flavour. The Soup is good, they had re-fill earlier but they stopped it .If ordering soup order in a bowl not in the bread as it has less quantity. The side dishes are good as well.

Food : quite good and the taste is okay for people from Asian as well. The food is not oily like other places. The menus are in Arabic and English but have no pictures for each. My favorite menu is chicken machboos Atmosphere : it gives Arab country atmosphere, there are 2 types of tables, in public and in private. There are tables for 2 people to a large group of people. The cleanliness is not so satisfactory for me. If the restaurants clean the places more frequently, it would be much better The staffs : plenty numbers of staffs, all are nice and service-minded

Kuwait- Arabic traditional food. The soups are served inside a bread, and you can refill them also. In the end, they offer you free Arabic coffee and sweets.

Very tasty food and wonderful place to visit. The restaurant is situated at the most happening place in kuwait city. Parking is a problem but it's worth to visit with family. The weekends are very crowded so the service is little bit delay. The ambience is very attractive. Price is affordable and worth trying for food lovers

The food was amazing and authentic. The interior was good. The service was excellent. But we had to wait for a long time to get food but it was worth it. They gave us complimentary salads and sweets while waiting. Overall, it was good, but the atmosphere inside was too noisy.

The food is delicious specially mutton tikka... it's so soft and flavorful. just one thing was really bad that the supervisor for waiters was very rude. he was commanding the waiters in a humiliating way.

Nice Experience..Starter soup in the bread pot is really awesome 👌. Majboos is very tasty. Hospitality, cleanliness and the customer relation is noticed and appreciable. For Arabian food lovers it's a best choice.

Set up is good. The starter soup is just for showoff as the inner liquid quality is low & the whole bread loaf is wasted without it. Food is good as any other Arabian food. Recommended for the families

Freej Swaeleh is a popular restaurant, known for its eclectic with vintage decor and furnishings creating a cozy atmosphere. The menu at Freej were mix of classic and contemporary dishes, with a focus on healthy and seasonal ingredients, some popular items on menu was majboos and Freej ice cream as desserts. Mutton Majboos: The mutton was so tender and the saffron rice with ghee was amazing, totally worth it. Their condiments by the side are amazing!

I love how authentic this restaurant is. From food to ambience, you'll really live the old Kuwaiti life for the time spent there. You can eat with your hands with no shame but make sure to have some 'Gaimat' to top things off, I'll personally judge if you don't, they're fantastic! This restaurant is fairly busy but it is faster moving than others, enjoy it.

  • 4/5 HAMID A. 11 months ago on Google
Not the best local restaurant, but it’s a good option because of the location and number of seatings. It’s more of a touristic place. Could be very busy during weekends. I like going there for the fish stew with sweet rice “Mahamar”. Other plates were okay. They bring plenty of additional items. I prefer getting Machboos at other places. Main course took about 30 minutes because it was cooked fresh, so you might want to call in and order before getting there, or order for delivery. Staff were nice.

Excellent Kuwaiti cuisine experience. Try Mutabbaq Zubaidi & Homous. Complimentary salad in the start was fantastic especially ginger pickle. Don't forget to visit their sweet shop upstairs.

We received our order delivery after one hour and half the grill chicken is very tasty and still our food is warm but the only feedback is the sauce cup not completed with garlic sauce which is not good image for your brand - overall thank you for good quality and tasty food
