A very interesting museum to visit, the cost of entry was 25 TL and 25 TL for the audio guide. We find the audio guide nice if you do not have a real guide. The ticket purchased to enter the archaeology museum is also good to enter the Haleplibahce Mosaic Museum. We would recommend visiting both museums. You will find lots of artifacts from Gobeklotepe at this museum. 3btraveler

A fitting museum for a city like Şanlıurfa. Its history spans thousands of years and it is home to so many "first"s and civilizations. The concept of the museum is wonderfully designed with time warp like passages between historical periods of mankind. Göbeklitepe section is also worth praise. A world class museum in a deserving place.

Everyone visiting Sanliurfa needs to visit the Museum. It’s huge and amazing and well designed. If you are a student of the Bible you will learn a lot.

A well laid out museum with many ancient artifacts. If you are in Urfa and interested at all in history, this place is a must see. There are some of the best preserved artifacts from Gobekli Tepe, Karahan Tepe and other truly ancient sites. The museum is well planned and takes you on a journey through the ages, showing the different cultural periods, including the Bronze Age, and the Assyrian and Babylonian periods in nearby Harran. The sheer amount here is almost overwhelming, and for lovers of ancient history, it is a joy. The same ticket also gives entrance to the nearby mosaic museum.

This museum is one of its kind, the information and history you see and get is like no other in the world. The tablets were just magnificent, I’ve been to a lot of museums in Turkey and this one is probably the best especially if you want to know more about history.

We were in Şanlıurfa at the end of May. Both museums, archaeology and mosaic, were closed since earthquake and floods. Locals said that they don't know how long restoration will take place. We met other tourists who were mad that on-line it's written that museum is open, although it's been closed since months. We were also sad about this situation, because we really wanted to see the collection.

Definitely a museum to visit. It is a large museum in which I spent hours together with the voice guide. The voice guide takes you through the eras. The museum is very nicely decorated and also has a cafe and a gift shop. After visiting the museum I recommend you to go to Göbeklitepe. This museum is a must see!

If you want to experience the ancient times in person, this is a must seen museum then. I like the design of the building. It allows you travel in time as you see the building from outside then pulls you further back as you walk inside. You will definitely feel the aurora.

This museum has a nice collection. It's huge and you will likely want a break. But be careful, because they have a scam going on. If you want to go to the museum cafe and drink water, you don't have to leave the building but you do have to go through the turnstile. After an hour, we wanted to get some water and even talked to the security guard before doing so. We drank some water in the museum cafe and asked to go back in. We showed our ticket/museum card and they remembered us. They said sorry, you "exited" (went to the cafe inside the museum) so you can't go back in unless you pay money and BUY ANOTHER TICKET. They said if you wait 3 hours you can use your Museum Card to reenter (a rule of one scan per 3 hours, I guess?), but if you don't want to wait, pay cash and buy new tickets for you and your family. The staff all seemed to think that was a reasonable solution to this problem, and this has clearly happened many times before. They could have opened the gate and let us go back in but told us to buy second tickets instead. Museum Director Celal Uludag is a great archeologist but unfortunately that is not the skill needed to successfully manage a museum and its staff. None of the staff speaks English and they have zero training in customer service; what a shame. I should add that the layout on the upper floors goes for hundreds of meters without any place to exit and go back to the ground floor. You have to walk all the way back to the beginning or walk till the very end of all the exhibits, so 10+ minutes either way. It means taking a break is extremely inconvenient. We passed another group of Turks desperately trying to figure their way out of that place. Poorly designed by people who obviously didn't have museum layout experience.

The biggest archaeology museum in the Turkey, third bigges archaeology museum in the world. You can see the oldest sculpture in the world. Gobeklitepe collection is unique and now they have Karahantepe collection as well. Buildings and pieces from Karahantepe can be older than Göbeklitepe's. I recommend you to rent an audio guide, even if you don't listen to everything, you should listen the Göbeklitepe Diodrama and Imitation part.

Must visit to see artifacts found at Göbeklitepe and sister sites. World's oldest statue with hypnotising eyes made of obsidian is ready to meet you, recommended to go with a guide.

Incredible collection of artifacts from Turkish sites from the last 12,000 years and more. The most amazing part is the full size replica of Gobekli Tepe which gives a far better understanding of the immense scale of the site when you can see how high the stones are. There are many items found at Gobekli Tepe that are also displayed here and show the advanced sculpture and carving techniques that they were able to produce. Museum is very new and well laid out as a result. Outside you can catch the bus to visit Gobekli Tepe.
