I really liked this museum,
Addis Abeba needs more places like this 👏
amazing exhibit. we also loved the space. the curator was very attentive and knowledgeable too.
Well preserved historical building with an intriguing back story. Great potential with pop-up exhibits that will invite locals & tourists back. It seems additional English translation for the main display wall is coming soon. Worth the visit to learn, see and walk through the park. Nice & simple garden cafe on-site.
The museum is inside friendship park, we're the children play section is. The museum was lovely, especially because of the nice lady, who told us about the history of the play. She was quit helpfully as well.
An oasis of heritage.
What a great glimpse into Ethiopian history through the life of a Addis Ababa woman, a hero who resisted Italian colonialism and persevered. Even more intriguing is how Yimtubezina's house has been passed down five generations and is STILL owned by her descendants, who now run the place as a museum within Friendship Park II. Yimtubezina was Imprisoned by the Italians for aiding and abetting members of the resistance movement but she lived to see the day the occupiers were ousted and Addis Ababa was liberated! This stuff has the makings of an epic movie written all over it. Inspirational indeed!
Nice!
