During my visit to the Adwa Victory Memorial Museum, I was deeply moved by the exhibits showcasing Ethiopia’s historic victory over Italy in 1896. The artifacts, stories, and rich history highlight the bravery and unity of the Ethiopian people. It was an inspiring and unforgettable experience.

Went on an organised tour thanks to KAS. Extremely spacious locale both inside and outside which is very well maintained. Amazing artefacts that testify to the grandeur and resilience of the Ethiopian people who successfully resisted colonialism by the Italians. Great explanations by the guide.

Beautiful museum, was just under 600etb for 6 of us. Not a lot to see as we had hoped, still lots of info and great history inside a beautiful building. No wait, parking was only 30etb, we also went on a holiday so not a lot of others were there.

I went there in hopes to see many artifacts from the Adwa battle fought between the Italian colonial invader and the Ethiopian people lead by Emperor Minilik the second. To my dismay, the grandiose structure built houses less story and is more of venue with multipurpose halls located within the vicinity. As a landmark the place is a good start to commemorate the victory as its significance is of an immense essence, but when it comes to what it aims to represent, a museum for Adwa, it lacks many important facts that could have otherwise been included within it.

This a great place to visit and see, and learn the proud Ethiopian culture and history. We spent a day here with family and had lunch at the Addis international catering. This place is rich in design, and elegance.

I would like to rate this place higher but it disappointed on quite a few fronts. 1) you have to buy your entrance ticket at a nearby bank, frequented not only by ticket buyers but by banking customers as well (read long wait just to get a ticket) 2) outrageous $20 entrance fee and believe it or not the bank couldn’t give change for $100 3) long wait for an English speaking guide who never arrived 4) no photos allowed anywhere inside (please tell me why?) 5) unhelpful and seemingly lazy staff annoyed at any questions directed their way. Apart from that, it was spectacular and a great insight into how Adwa shaped African politics
