I grew up here. This park was even always a favorite for me to take my kids. Just did the 20th anniversary victory for veterans memorial benefits ride out of the park. It was huge and truly amazing as it is every year. Everyone is so nice and it was for such a great cause. The park is always clean.

Everything from volleyball courts to a very nice path around the whole park. Also a golf course and range. Another thing is that they have live entertainment with food trucks and fireworks! We saw a Led Zeppelin tribute band called Kashmir and They were frickin AWESOME! Check out some of the videos I posted and You will hear how great They sound. Thanks Mr. Santos for making that happen.

Very nice and well kept. My husband's family picnic was here and I was impressed with the activities, bike rental, janitorial staff and grill service. I've been back a few times since then for yoga in the park and to walk the track and use the circuit equipment.

Nice park. Has a driving range, splash park, a couple different playgrounds, exercise equipment and a walking/running track that encircles the park. Lots of green space to run around too. There is a golf course, not sure if it is 9 or 18 holes though. Lots of parking too. Never had an issue here. Use to have an ice cream place, not sure if it is still there. The plagrounds have a mini (very mini) zipline, slides, little climbing wall, a number of swings, monkey bars and much more. I like this place, will continue going there.

This is the ideal place to go to if you want to book an event. Nice park in a nice, clean neighborhood. This park is good for family time, cookouts, jogging, and even a big family reunion if need be. The prices are not that bad for booking one of the Provilians, with staff ready for the task at hand. I think you would love this park and would be very safe here.

I actually love this park and will update my review to reflect that at a later time. It’s important for park management to see this: if you’re going to close down a section of the trail, you MUST post signage throughout the park to warn people of the closure AND specify which section of the trail is closed so walkers/bikers know which route is usable before it’s too late! I shouldn’t be able to walk 3/4 of the way around the park, only to suddenly find that I can’t complete the trail and need to double back. I typically walk to the park from over the bridge by Walmart and then take Hawthorne home, and this unexpected closure added 2 miles onto my walk, which I was not at all prepared for. My feet are literally bleeding (shoes got wet while crossing grass) and now I’m running late for an appointment. For people with serious medical conditions or important obligations, this kind of inconvenience could be much more serious!

This golf course is one of the better kept courses in Lake County. Usually easy to get a tee time. The small bar is very well ran, and there is always a beer cart somewhere on the course.

For over five decades, Wicker Park has been an integral part of my life, ever since I was a child. Its enduring presence in the area brings a sense of comfort and nostalgia. As I reminisce about the countless memories created within its boundaries, I can't help but appreciate the value it adds to the community. Wicker Park serves as a sanctuary, a green oasis amidst the bustling urban environment. Its sprawling grounds offer a serene escape from the concrete and skyscrapers that dominate the surrounding landscape. It's a place where families, friends, and neighbors can come together, strolling along its pathways, enjoying the simple pleasure of nature's embrace. One of the aspects that make Wicker Park truly special is its versatility. It caters to a wide range of interests and activities, ensuring there's something for everyone. From leisurely walks and picnics to more energetic pursuits, the park accommodates various preferences. The well-maintained trails invite visitors to immerse themselves in the tranquility of the surroundings, while the open green spaces beckon for spontaneous games and sports. Personally, Wicker Park holds a special place in my heart as it has been the backdrop for numerous family reunions throughout the years. Gathering beneath the shade of towering trees, we have shared laughter, stories, and cherished moments. The park's ample seating areas and designated picnic spots provide a comfortable setting for these joyous occasions, fostering a sense of togetherness and unity. For those new to the area, I wholeheartedly recommend a visit to Wicker Park. It exemplifies the quintessential community park experience, offering a blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Whether you choose to explore its meandering trails, engage in a friendly game of golf on the well-maintained course, or simply bask in the serenity of the surroundings, the park promises an enjoyable outing for individuals of all ages. In conclusion, Wicker Park has stood the test of time, a testament to its enduring appeal and significance in the local community. It continues to be a beloved destination for residents and visitors alike, a place where cherished memories are created and a true haven within the city. So, if you find yourself in the area, make it a point to experience the charm of Wicker Park, immersing yourself in its natural splendor and partaking in the activities that bring joy to your heart.

Two stars cause it has workout equipment, and trail. Fast forward to the fact they removed the whole reason I initially started coming to the park. Since when did the park become a place for adults and not kids to play? The actual equipment for children is gone now. Bathrooms not stocked and closed early for season. Atmosphere has definitely changed within the last few years at that. Drug activity at the park where kids and public attend is unacceptable of any kind. This is supposed to be a place for children. Bring the equipment back and get rid of the low life’s who think their habits should be displayed for everyone to be exposed too. Arrest the individuals with no class or decency to keep their private life at home. Thanks

Normally love the splash pad for my kiddos... today, there was a wasps' nest in one of the fence poles around the splash pad. My son got stung. Told the workers & they said ya we know but there's nothing we can do about it because we can't put chemicals around kids. They did offer benadryl spray but they should at least have a warning sign or something.

The playground is new (2023) and has latest in a fun and safe layout and design for the kids. Lots of covered seating for caretakers. Trees nearby for walking or picnics. Bathrooms open until 6 or 7 pm.

My wife and I go there to walk. It's not a crowded place. It's shared by runners and bicyclists. Some people walk their dogs, too. If you like to walk, run, or bike It's a good place to go.

It was ohkay, alot has changed in the years the splash pad is ohkay, only half of the water toys in there work the full time, the water pressure is low, and also way over priced!. Park management are rude to you!. I used to bring a small little grill a blanket and my kids to the park and not a problem, I was there last week first time in 2 years and I was almost done with my hot dogs and hamburgers when they came around with a bucket of water and put it out when I used the restroom, mind you it was 2 hamburgers and 4 hotdogs, my grill was one that stands about 2 feet tall, but I mean the park is so beautiful but overran with karens

I was visiting the area from Maricopa, Arizona and was looking for a place to go and enjoy the weather. I stumbled upon this park at a time when they were having an event. "Pint in The Park" was set up for patrons to go around and try different beer beverages! There was music, food, dancing and pleasant conversation. The park itself was clean and the building was well kept. I was very pleased that my GPS request led me to Wicker Park!

Great area for morning walks. They have great walking trails and a golf course. Awesome spots for event planning. I volunteered for a fundraising walk there for the National MS Society a couple of months ago, which opened me up to the options and beauty of the park.

Been going to Wicker Park since I was a kid. Have had many experiences while visiting, swam in that awesome swimming pool, that now is gone. My oldest daughter even got married there. Many concerts, food and drink events, day trips, and picnics under my hat.

We had an awesome golf outing here! A wonderful event to raise funds for a friend whos daughter was severely injured in a car accident. They were more than hospitable and accomidating. Not to mention, met my husband here 18 years ago, so I kinda like the place 💕

If you like nature, this is the place to go. Many friendly walkers and bikers. Also, if you like to golf, there's a golf course. A beautiful newly built play ground for children. This park offers so much.

Love this park! It has everything that you need for outdoor activities. There are bike and walking trails, golfing, a dog park, pool, a park for kids, a sanded volleyball area and so much more. On top of all of that, it's very scenic! I highly recommend this park.

Love to come here . Get a good walk run here. Fresh air, see a little wildlife. Relaxing. Peaceful. Here now before I get ready for work. Thank goodness for all the shady areas because it's hot today. Wish I could come here everyday for my walk!!

Pretty nice park. Playground equipment could use a little TLC. The different little activities like gears to spend and whatnot are getting old and hard to see them. The zip line is dangerous. It's just a small metal handle you hang on to and then get dropped. Great way to break ankles 🙄 My 6 year old loved the seesaw the most and the rest of the playground. My 2 year old loved the playground too. Lots of different little areas to explore and trails to run around and tunnels to go through.

My son dad and I hosted our child birthday party here. He lives in the town yet he didn’t change his ID so we had to pay 475.00 for a shelter. After booking I found out the splash pad wasn’t going to be on which was, terrible because I was looking forward to the kids enjoying it on a hot day. You could only use one bounce house service which charges you for the bounce house and generator. I have never seen that done. Then the day of the party I was approached by staff stating I didn’t pay to be there. However I did. I ensured them i did. He still called me a lie. I had to go to the car & show my contact…. This wasn’t worth the money yet it’s a nice park.

My wife and I went there for a wedding reception. It was absolutely fantastic! Beautiful community room well decorated. I thought it was very scenic. Outside of the community room was a Stairway leading to the gazebo. The Gazebo will be wonderful for a wedding. But the hall itself was very beautiful very clean! I would recommend it for anyone wishing you have a large Gathering for whatever the occasion. The wait staff was absolutely wonderful! Highly recommended!

Very nice park for walking. There is a smaller loop which is the main park and a larger loop which circles the golf course. Plenty of space for dog walking. Mess bags are available to pick up after your pet. If you don't pick up after your pet, congrats, you're a bag, a d-bag. The smaller loop is nice and shady. The larger loop has lots of sunshine which is nice but my dog's fur is black so she gets overheated quickly.

Great place to spend time with the kids or family at the playground or go for a walk/run on the track. There's a place for your pets. Not a huge golfer but I loved going to the rang to just hit a few balls. And the event center is pretty cool when special events are going on like Pop-up Shops.

Beautiful and very well kept up. 👏 went to the bike trail that is wide open and goes from one end at the highlands all the way to Merriville Indiana. Over 10 miles of bike trail to enjoy. You do have to cross a lot of streets but it is well marked and respected with the bikes. The bathrooms had liquid soap , lots of tissue and hot running water❗💕. The picnic areas was ample and so was the parking. Beautiful forestry and maintenance staff visible. 👌 Great place to go, especially for biking.

Really enjoy playing here because of the reasonable cost, length and easy access off the expressway. Not too much sand, but long holes allow you to use every club. Plus most fairways are forgiving, but you’ll still need to make some target shots.

  • 5/5 Dylan W. 1 year ago on Google
Great park with a LONG (almost 2 miles by my count) pathway that hooks up to other trails in the area. Park also does lots of events, but is good for just walking or jogging Bathrooms are closed for renovations as of winter 2023, so go pee before you get there.
