Villa Park Historical Society

Tourist attraction Museum

👍 If you haven’t been here I recommend stopping by. Such an untapped resource. There is fun history to know about Villa Park. It would be nice to see a digital catalog archive of all the material they have. (Could there be integrated partnership with the library?) People often mention museum,

Awesome historical displays. Antique refrigerator, washing machine, typical kitchen of the 1930s and of course displays on the Chicago Aurora and Elgin Electric Railway.

Lived in the village all my life, finally got a chance to take a browse through our Historical Society and I found it very informative. Thought I knew a lot about the village's history, come to find out I didn't know as much as I thought I did, or what I was told was completely wrong...... in any case nice place to look around very cool, when we cleared out my parents house a lot of the village memorabilia we found went to this historical society....how much they actually used of it I'm not sure. Check it out if you want a good look at yesteryears, and where your Ovaltine was made first.

I love going on this part of the Illinois Prairie Path.. It's very easy to ride your bike on. Very pretty and Play Parks, Water and Port-a-potties are available. That makes this bike path exceptional....and this History of Villa Park is very interesting with a little second hand gift ship too!!! So much fun!!

Very informative receptionist. We'll rounded information on many topics. Was surprised by the Ovaltine influence in the area.

This is a quaint little historical society. They are not only a historical museum but also a small store which sells items that they collect in-order to keep the museum open. I have stopped in many times and have bought many items for cheap.

Amazing museum! The lady showed us a video about an ovaltine commercial and how that contributed to the post office boom in villa park. Thank you so much for a great tour and educational experience!! The gift shop here is also amazing

The museum is in the old Villa avenue stop for the Chicago Aurora Elgin railway the prairie path is outside the door. it's worth a visit. The museum has been there since the '70s there is more than trains . There is no charge fee but they depend on donations to stay open.

Smallish museum in interurban rail station along line converted to path (Prairie Path, and two blocks from station on the Great Western path).. A lot of well displayed local history. Good display of Ovaltine, which was manufactured across the street, now converted to apartments. Knowledge staff.

Besides the museum being the actual Villa Ave train stop for the Chicago Aurora and Elgin railroad the full story of Villa Park can be found inside. There also a Gym dandy Children's Surrey , and a nice garden of which I was lucky enough to get a few photos of the monarch butterflies mating by the milkweed.
