I’ve been coming to Jeng Chi since I was a kid when they were in their original location a few doors down! This is one of the best, most authentic Chinese food restaurants you can find in the DFW area. Their juicy dumplings and green onion pancakes are unbeatable. Highly recommend for anyone who’s looking for a friendly environment, good service and some excellent Chinese dishes. Looking forward to eating here for many more years!

This was our first time eating here. What a find. Service was excellent, food was great, did I mention the service? I have eaten at a lot of Chinese restaurants this is at the top of the list, plus you can watch the ladies make your soup dumplings while you wait. Our server made excellent recommendations and food was out fast and hot. Great experience!!!

It is a must go when thinking about the soup dumplings. Jen Chi restaurant has been in Dallas for 20 + years and it’s an authentic Chinese restaurant. Reservation is highly recommended. This place is always full of people!

We visited this restaurant for the first time and ordered Juicy Steamed Dumplings, Green Onion Pancake, Shrimp Pockets, and Combination Fried Noodle. The dumplings were really juicy as you bite into them. The pancake and shrimp pockets were delicious. The combination fried noodle was good. Our waiter was fantastic from start to finish. Beautiful interior and atmosphere.

Love these dishes! Spicy beef with vegetables and egg rolls. Sliced beef, zucchini, carrot and yellow onion in light spicy chili sauce. Crispy Spicy Tiger Shrimp! Tiger shrimp dried chili pods, green onion, sesame seeds, and red chili oil. Amazing!! Great staff and friendly atmosphere. Best Chinese restaurant near me!! What are you waiting for???

This was an amazing experience for everyone in our party. I am a vegan and they had no problem substituting the fish sauce out of my food to keep it vegan. The people at my table are not vegan and they were very happy to try several different items on the menu. Our waitress was fantastic and very informative about the menu. They were very crowded and very busy but it never took away from our dining experience. It was not overly loud or crowded. The tables are spaced nicely to where you don’t feel cramped. I would definitely go back here!

We really enjoyed the food here! We got the chicken dumplings, hot and sour soup, orange chicken, and garlic chicken. All the dishes were very well made! Our server was very nice and even tried to give me pointers for using chopsticks! It’s quite a drive from where we live but I’m pretty sure we will be back!

Delicious Taiwanese food! I've eaten here before but never really reviewed them, but my family and I are big fans of their food and the bakery items. I ordered: Dark Broth Beef Noodle Soup, Shredded Dried Tofu with Pork, Crispy Slices Fish with Garlic Sauce, Small Juicy Dumplings (pork xiaolongbao), and Pork, Shrimp, and Leek Boiled Dumplings. Everything was flavorful and the perfect balance of sweet and/or savory. They did make a mistake and only give me 11 dumplings when it was supposed to be 12, but once I addressed this with the waitress she promptly had the kitchen staff make more for me and even gave us an extra dumpling. The soup dumplings were super juicy and drool worthy. The beef noodle soup honestly transported me back to my time in Taiwan and I could've drank that broth all day long, it was that good. The fish was surprisingly crispy even though it had a sweet sauce on it but paired really well with all our dishes. From the bakery, I highly recommend their roll cakes! I've tried vanilla and strawberry and it's a total steal for $9!! I've compared MANY places and this restaurant's roll cake is the best deal and well made. It's super soft and fluffy and the whipped cream tastes fresh without an aftertaste. I also really like their pork & cabbage buns, I highly highly recommend them. They give like 9 for either $11-15, I can remember the exact cost but it's totally worth the price. I've gotten it almost every week. Their green onion flower buns are also super good, same price as the pork & cabbage bun but just a different taste. I've gotten this multiple times as well. Seasonally, they make sticky rice dumplings, Taiwanese style and red bean, I've only gotten the Taiwanese style and it's super good! It's a little pricey for the small-medium size, so I wish they'd make it larger for the price, but again this is a seasonal item so you can't get it all the time, so when it is there, get some!! Overall, I'm definitely coming back to Jeng Chi in the future with friends and family for more yummy yummy food.

I came for the soup dumplings, and they were pretty good! The dough was a little thicker than I would like, but the flavor was still really good. I also ordered the garlic green beans, and those were fantastic!!🫛 the restaurant itself was really large, so there was plenty of sitting and no wait. I would definitely come back and try other things!

This is our favorite restaurant of any kind in the DFW area for good reason. The soup dumplings and spicy wontons are great, and their Tiger Shrimp in garlic sauce is simply next level amazing. Always a great experience here.

The service was alright. I think we came too early to opening time. The soup dumplings were the juiciest I’ve had in forever. The noodle soup was good but not my favorite. I definitely recommend going for the dumplings. A little pricey but I would return for more dumplings soon.

Hot & sour soup was pretty good. You have to request the crunchy topping (I have been a few times and it was never served with it). The food is decent but way over priced. Not very flavorful, I do love vegetables but seemed like carrots were used as a filler & the meals do not come with egg rolls. $18 - Beef & Broccoli - NO EGG ROLLS *Egg rolls are extra.

Speechless!!! And not in a good way 🥴 We were super excited to try Jeng Chi based on the reviews and recommendations from friends, but ultimately were extremely disappointed. The chicken fried rice and chicken fried noodles did not have a pinch of flavor. The fried rice was literally mushy white rice mixed with frozen vegetables, eggs and plain chicken. I also got two vegetarian egg rolls and was sad to find out that they didn’t even come with a sweet and sour sauce or sauce for dipping… the flavor was non existent in all the dishes above and I would absolutely never spend the money to get them again. I stuck with a two star review because the sweet and sour sesame chicken actually had good flavor. Also the girl working the register when I picked up was super friendly. I’m going to keep the belief that this spot gets most of its rave reviews for their dumplings, so eventually I think we will go back and try those and hopefully have a different experience.

Definitely gotta go for the soup dumplings and 🍆. So good!!! It has a really nice atmosphere with people happily eating. Great place to bring the family and get a variety of food. Bathroom was clean, and service was great. Drinks were refilled and the happy times were rolling.

Amazing! Was in the area looking for dim sum (which they don’t have in case anyone was wondering), but they had soup dumplings (what they call juicy dumplings), served properly with homemade vinegar. Absolutely delicious! The service was also excellent!!

First time at a Tiwanese restaurant. Very similar to Chinese food, but without the greasy after taste. We came for dinner with friends and ordered multiple dishes like boiled fish and crab dumplings, both a staple here. We also had noodles with shrimp, fried tiger shrimp, spicy wontons, orange chicken, and mongolian beef. The dishes were very tasty, using fresh and healthy ingredients, and no after affects. I would recommend you get reservation for busy nights, this place gets crowded. Also I must say the wait staff was very attentive and helped us order too.

First time here. Highly regarded as one of the best Asian restaurants in Dallas. First impressions are good with us. Clean bright atmosphere with great customer service. Seated quickly even though a Sunday Lunch crowd. Noticed there were at least 6 preparing steamed dumplings, which are their specialty. Food was really good and table server was excellent. Will return

Came here for the first time this past Monday. This was a very clean, well-kept restaurant. We wanted to have a lighter lunch but still try a few things from their menu. We ordered the marinated eggs, pork stir-fry noodles, dark broth beef noodle soup and pork and shrimp dumplings. Everything we ate was so fresh and delicious! My kids thoroughly enioyed their noodles while my husband and I enioyed the rest. Highly recommend!

Ordered soup dumpling, and noodles loved it all. Added dipped noodles in mixture of vinegar, soya sauce and chilli paste, that multiplied the flavor.

Great place to have authentic Chinese cuisine. Had a late lunch with the girls. We ordered some pork soup dumplings, hot and sour soup, orange chicken, and Mongolian beef and broccoli. It's always hot and fresh (like me) and served with a smile. Their choices of drinks are extensive. We come here a lot when we're jonesing for Chinese.

I sat for 10 minutes and not a single server came by. The restaurant needs more servers The atmosphere is good and the food isn't bad, but it's not great either. Service 1, food 3, atmosphere 4. The bottles are not labeled with the names of the contents. A bit lacking in details about the restaurant's guests. Xiaolongbao: poor soup. 2 points Boiled dumpling: good. 4 points

Came here for dinner with some friends because we were craving dumplings and we all thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant! There was a small wait to get a table but it wasn't bad. Our server was nice and she came around when we needed her. The food is moderately priced but not as budget-friendly as other places. We ended up sharing Bok Choy, Egg Rolls, Soup Dumplings, Fiery Juicy Steamed Dumplings, Shrimp and Pork Steamed Dumplings, Curry Chicken Steamed Dumplings, and Spicy Dan Dan Noodles. All of the dumplings were delicious, the bok choy wasn't overcooked, and the egg rolls had a lot of flavor. I also liked the chili oil they left for the table because it was nicely spicy - it was a little thicker than usual but I really liked that consistency. I was not disappointed with the Dan Dan noodles - I love peanut noodles and these tasted great, definitely one of my favorites at any restaurant I've been at so far. The noodles were cooked just right and the sauce was nicely spicy and paired perfectly with the peanut flavor. For me, the peanut noodles were my favorite part of the meal...but then again the Fiery Steamed Dumplings were amazing too! This restaurant was great, I will definitely come back again to try more of the other menu items and it gives me an excuse to go to the 85° Bakery next door!

Soup dumplings are straight fire!! I could see the kitchen staff making them by hand. Shrimp was sweet and not over cooked. Big ol pop of soups. Excellent! Scallion pancake was different from others I’ve tried. A lot thicker, but the flavor was there, and so was the crunchy texture. Amazing poultry dishes. Fried to perfection. Sauce deep and rich flavor. Also, so off the chain lemonade! Nom nom nom nom !!

Dark broth beef noodle soup 6/10 the broth lacked flavor and the beef was not as tender as other places I've been to here in Dallas area. The texture of the hand pulled noodles was good, and it was the redeeming part of the dish. Small juicy steamed dumplings 8/10 made fresh and definitely was very juicy. However I thought it was pretty salty for my liking. Curry chicken juicy steamed dumplings 6/10 probably my least favorite item. It was definitely unique but the taste in a dumpling just wasn't for me. Chili wonton 9/10 easily the best appetizer. Just the right amount of chili oil on top to make it delicious. Dan Dan noodles 10/10 I swear I can eat this all day, everyday. Dan Dan noodles are my favorite and I've been trying to find a place that makes it to my liking. Wish they put more meat in it tho. Stir-fried string beans 7/10. It was just average. Felt like there was too much meat on the table and just had to order some greens. Overall, it was a good dining experience. I enjoyed the atmosphere, the food, and the excellent customer service. I'll definitely be back to try out different items. It could be extremely busy, as the first time I came it was over an hour wait, so we left. This time we came slightly before the lunch rush, and was able to be seated immediately. Tons of parking in the lot.
