I worked here for 4 years. 9 out of 10 times there is a one star review here it is grossly misleading. If the bad review is truthful; the awesome team of managers will usually help rectify what ever issue you had with the store within reason. It gets really busy on the weekends therefore it is best to be patient and understanding. Kindly ask for help and an associate will help you as soon as possible. Treat the employees how you would like to be treated and your time at DNA will be wonderful. Top notch aquatics and aquariums for sale. Ask about special orders if they dont have what you are looking for. I would also advise you to call before you make a long trip to DNA to verify that they have what you need. DNA is a great place to learn more about the aqurium hobby. The store is filled with aquarium experts to help make your fishtank dreams a reality.

Hello, I really need advice. I hadn’t had a saltwater aquarium in years, but desperately wanted one. I have been driving over an hour for months to get advice and products from a man at DNA. I wanted to learn as much as possible and start out slowly. I purchased a Fluval 32.5 a few months ago from him. Tuesday I purchased a 90 gallon tank, cabinet & everything to go in it. I should have suspected something was up because no protection was put on anything when everything was put in my vehicle. I have had so many questions and there is so much to learn. I want everything to thrive. When my husband of 35 years and 22 year old son saw my enthusiasm, they went to DNA the very next day to upgrade and get a larger tank and all equipment. I had been in contact with my “ person “ and sent all quotes on a larger aquarium for our home to my husband. I also let the man, I have been dealing with for quite some time, know within 10 minutes of their arrival time. It was a done deal, I just didn’t know which aquarium they would choose. I have never been so shocked or hurt, when my family arrived home. The employee at DNA, I trusted to be my advisor, had said terrible things about me. Needless to say, my family felt I had been betrayed and was so upset, I didn’t get a bigger tank. Does anyone have any advice for me? I am so hurt and humiliated. I truly appreciate your time. Thank you.

I cannot express the amount of gratitude I have for the customer service here at Dallas North Aquarium , specifically Tania. After a disaster visit at a fresh / salt water store in highland village , Dallas North Aquarium was a huge breath of fresh air. Tania greeted me and my family and asked if we needed any help. I told her I just got my tank cycled and ready for some shrimp. I am new to the aquarium world and was very nervous to get live fish into my tank. Tania was very patient and talked me through everything. I never felt rushed, I never felt confused but what I got was a sense of relief that I was being helped by such a wonderful, friendly and knowledgeable person. All my questions were answered without hesitation! I bought everything that was recommended and was excited to get home with my new shrimp friends! Its been a few days and I have to say that everything is thriving! My plants look amazing and the shrimps and the assassin snail are very happy, which makes me very happy! It's no joke and no lie that this place is the best in DFW! I will be returning back soon! Thank you Tania, you're the best!

Still here and still These peeps love seafood! But not sushi style like I love seafood - they keep it alive and teach you to keep your sushi swimming! Fish are friends NOT food! Though I don’t always agree they pointed me in the right direction to keep my Turtles floating in an aquarium instead in y soup boil! They are pricey for new stuff but they got the newest coolest stuff. Butt …. in the back corner that looks like a storage corner - not well lit is used stuff that is priced to move! And there is a bunch of goodies. Plug it in first (they have a spot up by the registers with a power strip!)

I have been shopping at this store for about 5 years now. I bought my saltwater aquarium, fish, coral, etc all from here and was satisfied with my purchases. I can say though that the only thing is their customer service is very poor every time I go. I decided to come to the store today to ask questions to the staff. It was very evident that i was waiting for service yet no one acknowledged my presence. Not even a “i am working with a customer and will be with you shortly”. I waited 30 min and decided to leave as I realized I would not be getting help anytime soon. Taking my business elsewhere

I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Dallas North Aquarium and I must say, it exceeded all of my expectations. From the moment I walked through the doors, I was greeted by friendly and knowledgeable staff who were more than happy to answer any questions I had. The aquarium itself is beautifully designed, with a wide variety of exhibits that showcase the incredible diversity of marine life. Each exhibit is thoughtfully curated and provides a unique and immersive experience. From the vibrant colors of the coral reef exhibit to the awe-inspiring sight of the giant sea turtles, every corner of the aquarium is filled with wonder. One of the highlights of my visit was the interactive touch tank, where I had the opportunity to touch and learn about various sea creatures. It was a truly hands-on experience that allowed me to connect with the marine life in a way I never thought possible. The Dallas North Aquarium also offers educational programs and presentations, which are perfect for families and school groups. These programs are not only informative but also engaging, making learning about marine life fun and exciting for all ages. Another aspect that impressed me was the cleanliness and maintenance of the aquarium. The tanks were crystal clear, and the exhibits were well-maintained, ensuring the health and well-being of the animals. Overall, my experience at the Dallas North Aquarium was nothing short of exceptional. It is evident that the staff and management are passionate about marine conservation and providing a memorable experience for visitors. I highly recommend a visit to the Dallas North Aquarium for anyone looking to explore the wonders of the ocean and gain a deeper appreciation for marine life.

Been going here since I was a kid. It is so nice to have a fish supply store so high quality! The tanks look better maintained than some zoos! update: they must be short staffed because this week there were a lot of dead fish in the tanks :(

I never write reviews but this place is absolutely spectacular. Everything is in perfect condition. The staff is amazing and friendly and answers every question you have. They helped me find budget friendly options and gave me solutions to what I had been struggling with. My tank has looked perfect ever since I got their help and supplies. This place is amazing.

So many different species of marine animals. Tons to see and buy especially for your aquarium. Excited that they have seahorses. They are always adding new aquatic animals and it’s a great place to take your kids.

My daughter and I have been coming here for years, and we finally decided to grab a few fish! The staff has always been very helpful and extremely knowledgeable, and I love that they take time to break things down, when it comes to interacting with children!

Love going to this place. Their customer service has gotten a lot better since the last time I was there. Over all, I love coming here to just look and browse and they have a lovely stock of fish as well! Check em out!

Bought my first tank here 2 years ago. Fluval 32. Got great service then. Drove from Arlington today to look at a new tank. I was there 20 minutes. Not a single employee said hello or asked if I needed help. It wasn't terribly busy. Guess I'll just start shopping closer to home.

Wow! Took my grandchildren in, to look and we were amazed at the merchandise, fish and fish tank displays. The kids were even given fishy coloring pages to take home. We may have created some future home aquarium enthusiasts.

I'm not easily impressed by a fish store but I was impressed by this one. lots of helpful staff. And stock like I have never seen. Easy to see salt water is ther go to stock. But unlike most big salty stores they didn't neglect the fresh water side as well most stores only have small fresh water fish but they had everything from the normal size to the huge fish. And lots of the hard to find fresh water fish. When you walk in you think it's high end store witch it is but without the high end store prices. Saw some 210 gal aquariums when I walked in with super nice stands it's the only place in DFW area I could find FX6 replacement part's. It was 4hr round trip for me well worth it I will be going back when I have more time to hang out and enjoy the store

Have been going here for many years. They have the best selection of fresh and saltwater fish and equipment that I have ever seen. Their staff is knowledgeable and I have never had any issues with the fish, snails, or plants that I have purchased. They have beautiful coral in their own room and lots of fish you don't find anywhere else. 100% would always recommend, even if you are just starting out.

Hands down the best place to go for selection in corals and saltwater fish. Everything i have ever bought here has been healthy and in good shape. Everyone is helpful. The Owner and managers knowledge in all things tanks will blow you away. I learn something from Jon everytime i come in, he is a true master of his craft. My favorite part about dealing with Jon is his passion and love for the hobby. When talking to him he is always teaching you and you can see and hear the love and excitement he has for his craft. He truly just wants you to leave excited and happy with your new additions to your tank!

I've been coming to DNA for over 17 years. I absolutely love this store it's the nicest aquarium store I've been to In My Life. Everybody there has always been so helpful and kind and I've bought so many things from them tanks, fish, equipment, plants. Have broken down tanks and brought them back to them for store credit, given them baby fish. I just genuinely love going to the store even if I not going to buy something, it is just enjoyable. I recently contacted them about helping me rehome a fish tank. It was something that I really cared about and they understood and offered to set it up in their store in John's office. John found a home for it promptly. The new owner is going to keep it mostly intact like I wanted and take care of it for the foreseeable future. That is a great relief to me and I am greatly appreciative of all of the things that they have offered me throughout the years and im not just talking about tangible items, but about the experience and expertise and care that they provide in this Hobby. This store really sets the bar High. I highly recommend this store if you were looking for a quality experience with serious expertise this is the destination. I've seen some of the most exotic animals offered in the store including cuttlefish, stingrays, real arowanas, and amazing rare freshwater fish and shrimp. John and Josh really stepped up and helped me out and I really appreciate them. Thank you!

Staff member was helpful, she gave my wife tips to scape her new tank, plants to help fill it, stones, etc. Love the fact that they’re not afraid to tell you no, and to keep you from purchasing any fish until they know your tanks are properly cycled. The fish you’re buying, well, believe it or not, are alive and need you to provide them the best possible home. Keep up the good work. One thing, update the stone pricing book, your staff was having difficulty finding things because the book was not clear. It did cause frustration on cashier because she had to ask for pricing just to match. Help her do her job properly to keep things running smooth for you guys. 4/5 stars, moving up to 5 after next visit hopefully.

I was excited to check out Dallas North Aquarium because I wanted to begin adding substrate and plants to by turtle tank. This place is really beautiful and inspiring to see all the ways you can landscape your tanks . HOWEVER the sales associate I was talking to discouraged me from purchasing or pursuing any plants or substrate that I was interested in because I had a turtle. While I know turtles are known for eating everything, I have a really small musk turtle that has lived with aquatic plants and fish for over a year and has seemed happier since I added plants and fish because he is very curious. I drove over half an hour to get there to see all the amazing aquatic plants but ended up leaving with nothing because the sales associate made me feel stupid for ever wanting to get aquatic plants or landscaping a turtle tank.

Although I'm not a fish person I do like seeing axolotls I might want to buy just minding their own business.

Such kind and considerate staff. We've been multiple times and never left unsatisfied. It's a 45 minute drive for me, but worth it to know our fish are healthy and the products I purchase are high quality.

I started shopping at Dallas North Aquarium in 2005 and was blown away with the knowledge the staff had at that time, it seemed everyone was an expert and you’d get consistent answers from one employee to the next. That was something special that’s incredibly hard to find. I stop in from time to time to pick up fish or supplies when I happen to be working in the area.

This is probably the best large scale fish store in the entire Metroplex for Fresh and Salt water fish, Corals, Live Plants, Rocks, Wood, Tanks and Stands and Equipment. They certainly are not cheap and its unfortunate they are off a toll road as well for most customers. I certainly plan to buy larger tanks from them in the future because they seem to have the best price and their delivery and shipping rate isn't ridiculous. I have bought most of my schooling fish and community such as rummynose, colombian and all kinds of tetras, snakeskin and gold barbs, rasboras, corydoras, angels, gouramis, etc... I have also bought rare and exotic species from them such as assassin snails, blue crawfish, pea puffers, and Lake Tanganyikan Cichlids. They have a great selection of African and New World Cichlids and they have carried a Flowerhorn or two in the past but they are certainly just as dedicated to coral and saltwater species as they are fresh but that is not apart of my hobby. They are certainly worth checking out if you are wanting basically check out a free public aquarium for all sorts of interests in the hobby.
