What a great pub, great food, great staff friendly environment. Grabbed a parmi here with a mate and I must say, one of the best I've had in a long time. The schnitzels are a excellent size and the toppings are made to match. My mate had the seafood topping, the prawns and squid were fantastic. I tried the squid and it was tender, not that stringy frozen stuff. Props to these guys for cooking such great meals. There's also have curry nights, burger nights (which look massive and all) and plenty more. Highly, highly recommend any one going for a drive and stopping in here for a meal here, support local. There's a wood heater in both rooms, bar and bistro to keep you toasty warm on those cold nights too. Enjoy!

Snittys were awesome and so big - we got half size ones and still couldn’t finish. The dining room area was nice but let down by technical difficulties with sound being turned on and off constantly by staff. The area that you have to order is a little off putting all the locals sitting around the bar staring at you. Would go back again for the food though

The menu boasts "SA's best schnitzels" and I just think that might not be marketing hyperbole. The meals are huge and of exceptional quality. Well worth the trip from the City. The schnitzels were as good as they look in the photos. We will be back!

THE HYPE IS REAL. Guys, todays a special day, my birthday, so I wanted to have a bit of a special treat for lunch. So off I go (with the fam) to the Macclesfield hotel after wanting to go there for MONTHS, after seeing the pictures and reviews online. I had a beef snitty (chips) with mushroom sauce, and extra mushroom sauce on the side (what can I say, I like a lot of sauce), step dad had beef snitty with Dianne sauce (mash and veg). Everyone else didn't have snittys 🙄🙄 To say these snittys were good us an understatement, they were AMAZING! They were big, good crispy crumb not a soggy crumb in sight, meat was good thickness and not overcooked, no wafer thin schnittys here. The sauce, so good, plentiful mushrooms, nice and creamy without being too creamy. Step dad said his Dianne sauce was a little salty but he often says that about everything, even my home cooking, so take his review of the sauce with a pinch of salt. The chips were nice and crispy and well seasoned. Step dad said mash and veg was good and generous portions. Guys, for a tiny country pub (the dining room is literally tiny, book in advance!!) They sure do an amazing service. Staff were friendly and courteous. Real country hospitality. Now to say these schnitzels were big, is an understatement, they were huge. Normally when people post online saying, "Oh, this schnitzel was so big, it fed 3," I laugh to myself and think "weak". This big schnit defeated me and step dad, we both had a takeaway container of defeat. Will visit again. Beef schnit $30 more for sauces and toppings - which there are SO MANY OPTIONS!!

Had lovely meal out with the family. Sat outside even thou it was cold, it was warm with heaters and they had some blankets for your knees.

Great area. Must book as very busy. Food was big in size, taste was great. Brought kids meals out first which is always good. Take away/ doggy bag for leftovers was given. Great customer service. We sat outside, inside was a little crowded for us. Highly recommend.

What a feed. Beautiful thick chicken schnitzels with crispy crumbs. Definitely as good as all the reviews. Cannot wait to return when all the renovations are complete. Half seafood with chips and veg for me and hubby had the full with mash

We were promised the best pub food ever. No where near it. Dumplings were lovely and dipping sauce excellent. Mains - Schnitzel Not Good Too big Salad a bad mix with no salad dressing. Schnitzels are too big! Quality is low. Sauces were not good quality. Beef Schnitzel had too much gravy. Chip are a disgrace. Cheap and nasty. Not salted prior to being served. Not excited at all. If you choose to sit outside. You will be sitting in a very bad make shift tent. This pub is being renovated at the moment. I hope in the future it has something that is nice about it. It's ugly at the moment. Toilets outside. Not good. Staff were fabulous. Absolutely 👏

What a fantastic experience the Macclesfield pub was. Well worth the drive from radelaide Delicious food... schnitzel was ridiculous (good) The service was excellent and the owner even came out to see everyone and say hello Will definitely be back! Warning tho....make sure you're hungry 😂 the meals are HUGE!

The hotel is renovating at the moment, so some minor issues. The food was excellent, and very generous servings however, due to the popularity of the hotel, we had to wait 45 mins for our meal. Once the renovations are finished, I would this hotel close to 5.

Had the chicken schnitzel which I shared with my husband. It was huge and we were both full and it was delicious with the chips and salad. Highly recommend it.

Great pub delicious food and awesome prices. I went here for a friends birthday and always wanted to try their wings. They were super delicious and crunchy. My friends ordered schnitzels, and wow! Not only were the schnitzels huge the toppings were just as big. I've never seen such quality and quantity as toppings before. I'm now going to go back to try a schnitzel. There are so many toppings l want to try, I'll have to go back several times. Our food was hot, our drinks were bubbly and the staff and service were great. Highly recommend and will be attending here on a regular basis. Yum!

Still under renovations but the experience was good. Generous servings and a good choice on the menu. Reasonable prices. We took our own wine and paid corkage, $12, also fair value.

Amazing food, fantastic friendly service every time we go. Always book a table this place is so good they fill up fast! Best food! Hands down our favourite place for dinner. Meals are always so big we always take food home with us. We have never ever had a bad meal here the chefs must be the best around! It’s also the above and beyond service we love from these guys they clearly love what they do and are excellent at making you feel welcome and at home. Well worth the visit!!!

Schnitzels are to die for!! Had a little bit of a wait for food but was communicated with us on arrival and we were happy to wait having visited before. Staff were super friendly and accommodating. Can't wait to see how the hotels going to look once the renovations are completed! 10/10

Had a catch-up dinner with friends on 26/11/23 and chose the Maccie. The food was wonderful, good wine selection, great service, and the country/rustic revamp is just fantastic. Highly recommend.

Very friendly staff. My friends ordered the steak and they said it melted in their mouths. I had the grilled fish it was absolutely delicious. Im looking firward to my next visit

We shared a starter of camembert cheese & chili jam then had fantastic lunch of Bangers and Mash. Then I couldn't resist the apple crumble for dessert ... all enjoyed with lovely glass of wine in very relaxing atmosphere.

Great hotel with a local country vibe. Good service and food was amazing in quality, size and choice. Food was nice and hot considering it was about 5 degrees outside. Well catered for with heaters and blankets if needed. Will definitely be back. Thank you

The second we walked in the owner Yorky made us feel so welcome. Food was fantastic and so much choice. I would highly recommend everyone call in for a beer. We will 100% be back

Busy and vibrant so seemed popular with the locals but food had an hour wait even though we were on time for our booking. I suspect the kitchen isn’t big enough for the number of people there on that day to go much faster. Food was ok but would prefer less quantity and more quality. Services was just ok but nothing to wow you.

Meal was outstanding better than me, tasted so good, had to ask for dodgy bag, staff were so much fun and professional. Loved our night. Will be back again

Great meals, very substantial. The Publican is very friendly and made us feel welcome. Only complaint would be that the outdoor/undercover eating area is so noisy. The chairs scrapping the floor was so loud, it was difficult to have conversations. Great food though.

Lovely lunch in the hills here. The schnitzels were all fantastic, we had the Maccy Royale and the fatboy and both schnitzels were crispy and tender. Chips were crunchy and delicious. Also there was salad.

Nice service but an hour for lunch when not too busy was not good. But the food was great..n the old pub feels good

Over an hour wait for our meals not good when you have kids Clearly the kitchen is obviously to small or understaffed to keep up with all the orders. One good thing the beef schnitzel I had was good ,the chips however were over cooked and far too much salt, and the vegetables had zero flavour. Will not be coming back.

Great country pub! Schnitzel night every Thursdays is a must. The schnitzels are thick with a thin layer of batter and the staff are very friendly.

Stopped in on a Tuesday for the chicken wing special night. The wings and the selection of sauces was great. Definitely coming back soon

Unfortunately they'd had a power outage so we couldn't have lunch. The ladies were lovely, but they couldn't do much.

Maccy pub has awesome meals , very busy & quite noisy. Friendly service. Only negative was all the tables were quite congested large tables just too close to each other very difficult to get chairs in and out in the patio area. But meals great value cooked lovely and very tasty

Loved it. A lot of history in this Hotel and it is proudly displayed on the walls in photographs. The food was fabulous and very generous and the staff were delightful. Thanks. 😊

Pub exterior was under renovation scaffolding, which made parking and access a bit difficult. At this busy time of year it was very noisy. The food took more than an hour to come out, but was excellent. Good serves, fresh and tasty seafood. Staff did their best but needed a little more help. I will definitely go there again when not so busy. 😀

Friendly staff and really wonderful meals. Highly recommend the garlic prawns, in particular!! The current restoration to this historic building will bring back a bit of local history as well. Mike and Meg

Great little country pub. Nice friendly staff. A great variety of food, with super specials. Under some Reno's at the moment but that makes no impact on their service 😉

Fantastic meals, we had to take half our schnitzels home in a takeaway container. Salad is also heaps better than most places. Really great and friendly
