This is quite a challenging hiking trail. First time there, went for the waterfall hike. Most of the paths were narrow and rocky. Some parts had to jump over rocks to cross the riverbeds. Needed to climb up some huge rocks to continue the path next to the waterfall. The hike is more suitable for teenagers and up. Carpark has only 8 spaces, many have to park on the side of the road on weekend. Very adventurous for first time hiker. The park needs more maintenance though, many fallen trees along the hike.

Parked the car at the top of Coach Rd and started from there .Go through the white gate. Fairly steep walk up the hill. But stopped to look for orchids.Stayed on Coach Rd We decided against walking up the waterfall and did a bit of Rockdale track and looped around back to Coach Rd and back to car. The stones made it a bit slippery coming down the hill.

Nice place for a hike with less crowded. Bit isolated even though closer to the city. When you hike around 3kms up, you will see the Gypsum mine that currently operating.

5km loop, up an overgrown riverbed/waterfall, then joins a fire trail up the top that descends past a quarry back to the carpark. Not the best trail but still fun for adventurous hikers.

Fantastic place for a hike within half an hour of Adelaide. The trail along the stream gradually climbs up with great views of the Adelaide area. A little slippery in parts especially after some rain.

A beautiful hiking area less popular than others but with some really impressive features. Multiple historical buildings / ruins, a trail that requires a scramble up a waterfall, and beautiful lush gullies.

Love it here. Always go for a walk here when I'm in SA. Most recently discoved mushrooms growing here, which was unusual since I've never seen them growing there before. Previously I have seen two quince trees around the entrance, full of fruit and I picked a few and put them to good use. Another highlight for me is the abundance of blackberries growing. I collected a good bucket full of blackberries and made a pie and some blackberry jam. Very prickly though so be careful... Check how the leaves are looking as sometimes the council will poison them off so do be wary.

Mostly rocky, narrow terrain with steep gradients. Lots of shady trees and smells fresh. Particularly nice on a Dewy morning.

Really enjoy this hike for its challenges in which involved climbing up rocks during parts of the trail and having to navigate your steps on some of the paths due to the rocks, crevasse and the narrowness. I found this fun and felt very accomplished once complete. This hike is NOT for those that cannot climb or have trouble on there feet, the hike it self has alot of areas with lose rocks, sand that is slippery, inclines, narrow walk ways, rocks that require climbing up or down. Some paths can be difficult to follow if you do not keep a look out for the signs so be sure to watch for the signs and read carefully. It can be very isolated out there and there is little phone reception. Good for those experienced. Also may mention, there is a sign that advices to not touch a certain flower as it is a weed nd spreads easily through seeds that attach to clothes however as the track is so un-maintenanced, this weed is every where, it is garenteed to be touched during the hike. Female. 26.

Nice hiking area with very few people. A 2 minute drive from Magill and you feel like you could be in the bush. The waterfall hike starts to become quite demanding after the first 750m or so. It’s starts to get quite steep and could get a bit tricky int he wet. The waterfalls weren’t flowing at all when we visited and this would be the case for most of the summer except after heavy rain. The ring route up via the waterfall and down via Rockdale Hill trail (5.2km) took us 1.5 hours exactly and we took a couple of breaks. We’re reasonable quick walker though- so allow a little more time. No dogs. Picked a few blackberries too- but make sure there’s been no spraying in the area before you do this.

I went there twice last week and it was super quiet. Only 8 spaces there so if it was busy you would have to park further down the road. I did the waterfall hike and it was great. No water as it was summer and I'm sure in winter it would be very beautiful but could be quite challenging as many spots cross the creek many times and some areas of the path was narrow and rocky. I climbed all the way up to the top of the waterfall then found a path that connected onto the Rockdale Hill Hike path and ended up following it all the way down to the carpark. Took me about an hour all up but I'm pretty fit and Hike a lot. #letsguide #hikes #nationalpark #adelaide #bushwalk

Parked the car on Coach Road, walked up and did a small loop at the southern end, also explored some no through sidetracks. There are a wide variety of flowering shrubs and herbs and nice views along the way. It is a good time to see orchids. Edit: Parked one car at the Horsnell Gully road entrance and the other at Giles CP entrance by the end of the Ridge Track. Rockdale Hill hike joins the Heysen Trail that leads to the Giles ruins and further to the southersn end of Giles CP. There were a couple of hundred meters of level tracks, the rest is uphill or downhill.

Enjoyable walk. Need to be a bit of a rock climber to go up the creek bed. Fun.

Great hike. Stunning views of the city to one side, and rolling hills to the other side. Easy track with a short gradual climb

More adventurous walking trail. Pretty after rain but this also makes the trail even more challenging. Close to the city yet so quiet.

Great walking trail. Went back the following day to do it all over again. Need to have your wits about yourself as it's excitingly challenging. The walk back to the car park was very relaxing. Went during winter when the water was flowing.

I love this park BUT.....seven and a half acres of this park has been destroyed by the neighbouring White Rock Quarry. The quarry claims it's their property through signage but it's not. It is crown land. They filled in a billabong. (See final 3 aerial pics of the same spot changing throughout the years) They dump their waste and sludge AND use the lake water for free. The lake which is absolutely beautiful, has been unnaturally dammed.
