We stayed here 1 night before our flight from Athens due to ferry times from Andros. The room I was allocated was grubby. Hairs in the shower and bed, dust on the fittings and fixtures, grubby shower fittings, floors dusty, holes in the bedding, stains on the curtains and generally poor. Rep sent photos to reception and the manager apparently said it was acceptable. Next morning, shower did not work and reception were rude, I assume as I had raised issues with my rep. It is also exceptionally noisy until about 2am. Think Magaluf in high season with loud music, cars, bikes.........fine if I'd booked Magaluf but I didn't. And the mosquitoes.....bitten badly!

Accommodation: nice, esp the garden/pool, but no elevator, noisy by youngsters at night. In the room: no wardrobe, you have to live off your luggage, poorly insulated, good beds. Breakfast: ok Supper: poor, cold, no buffet. Service: neurotic Basil Fawlty in the restaurant, a manager who wants to solve the problems but also tries to cover them up. In general: not a 3* but 2* hotel, too expensive for what you get, not to be recommended, esp out of the saison.

We accidentally discovered this place 8 years ago. No doubt if you want to jump into Greek feeling without traveling too much from the Airport, Marathon bay is probably the best choice. The resort is located by the coast, beach is just on the other side of the road. So you can decide easily which water to swim in. People are friendly as city is not overcrowded by tourists.

Old family customers, first time visitors after its renovation. Its a decent 3 star hotel with amenities, spacey and nicely located. Theres a retro feeling throughout, a mix of families and couples. The service could be better, mainly in the number and experience of some of the personnel but all in all it remains a very good suggestion for a long weekend near Athens.

Just horrible. Extremely noisy from the bar, it’s like the club is IN the room. You feel the beat on the bed. Pillows are EXTREMELY high. The hotel said that they are aware of that that there are no other pillows available 😅😅😅😅😅😅 Just a horrible experience. The towels are cheap and yellowish from the use and the bathroom has black hair from a previous tenant.

Very kind and friendly environment. Nice pool with pool beds. Cozy rooms. The breakfast was very basic, one must pay extra for omelette or eggs. I think the breakfast is the weak point of the hotel

Very helpful when contacted, room opened onto pool. Bed very comfortable. Location perfect. All the staff were excellent, especially Lisa and the lady at breakfast, sorry didn’t get her name. They will arrange pick up and drop off to and from the airport and Rafina port. Will definitely stay again

Only stopped for one night, ahead of the authentic marathon race, but wish we had stopped longer. Even though, our of season, the pool wasn't the warmest, it was a really nice place to be and the pool beds were an amazing touch! The staff were great, spoke really good English and were incredibly helpful. Definitely recommended if staying in the area!

This is a really fabulous hotel. Stayed for one night with family before flying home from Athens - about half an hour to airport. The hotel is located right near the beach with easy access to many good local restaurants and an attractive waterfront. I love the vibe and design of this hotel - it has a genuine Miami Beach feel to it - with the white washed buildings, retro features, tropical planting etc. The rooms are clean and spacious with good views of pool, gardens or sea. It’s the mature trees and planting that really makes this place special and the grounds are really well maintained. The staff are all excellent - friendly, attentive and always smiling. The food is pretty decent - although we would have preferred fresh rather than processed chicken in our burgers. The rock potatoes were the best chips we had in Greece. The cocktails were mostly very good - although the frozen margaritas tasted artificial - the barman was happy to exchange though. Breakfast was pretty standard, but good enough for the price we had paid. The pool deck is perfect - with ample seating, low key music, sun beds in pool and a large 20 meter pool. We appreciated the late check out flexibility. There is also an area for basketball shooting. Parking is free and easy. Overall, this place is very good value for money - great design - and excellent service.

Rooms were absolutely fine, clean, pleasant and well equipped except for 1 big problem, no mosquito nets on the windows/balcony doors so the pests had a feast day which was very irritating. Location as such is very nice but big issue with there being no lift for those who need it. The staff did their best but definitely short of staff on the catering side.

I attended an event on July 8 at this hotel and was very disappointed by the lack of professionalism. For example in the bathrooms the bins were overflowing. During the whole event and even after the front desk was informed, no one went to clean the toilets. In was unacceptable and a disgrace. They didn’t even serve us a glass of water. It is evident that all they care about is money. Also many of the rooms don’t have an elevator. The only access is with the stairs.

The positives: The staff is incredibly polite and helpful, and the room and the bed are fairly spacious. The negatives: There are mosquitos in the room, and the area is extremely noisy with constant sounds of people, cars, motorbikes, and loud music. The chaos begins to decrease after 2 am, but then the microfridge takes over with strong noises that seem to cover almost the entire audible spectrum. Overall, it was a truly bothersome experience.

Some rooms are exposed to a lot of noise from the streets, mostly youngsters gather on the one side untill about 2a.m. and can be roudy with their shouting, their motorbikes and cars. Breakfast is good, and the front desk staff are kind and helpful. Be prepared for mosquitos.

Nice hotel with a great location near the beach and restaurants. Rooms are clean. The pool is awesome with bar and music. The breakfast is not so good and misses the soul. Rest all is fine

rooms need a lick of paint if you look a little further. it was the end of the season and that was noticeable at breakfast. Very good location. Would go next time again.

Totally untouristic place. Insufficient and rude stuff regarding the management of the hotel. Facilities close to zero! Poorly equipped rooms and cheaply renovated. This place is a disgrace to the term Greek hospitality..

The worst experience ever!! Rude and incapable personnel ,poor facilities lack of cleanliness,no safety measures, noisy etc.. Overpriced for a hotel 3 stars and definitely stay away from there

Sorry... spite of tempting pool pictures, the place is unfit for a resort. Proximity to the sea, cannot be the only characteristic for a good property. Mai tanance is poor. Very poor. Both inside the room and in the outside facilities. Pool is always durty. Breakfast is dull and uniform. The sun and thebeach belong to everyone so the hotel cannot take credit for that... A good potential, lost due to poor maintanance and attention. Pitty.

No offend. But hotel room was not so much like hotel. We had the problem in the first room in first night. And the reaction of the hotel was very late. It eventually got solved somehow and I apperciate that. the second room was told to be better room. Yet there was the ant house in the corner of the room. I can understand the receptionists are not the fully faulty one. So we were keep adapting when they told us to wait. Everyday we had to go to front desk for respond until the almost last day of holiday. I am really sad that my holiday is tensed because of this. I am not angry but just let down. Wish others does not have similar issue

Excellent place to spend a few days, choice of beach or pool and good sea front walking with bars and restaurants. Nice place to stay before or after Island hopping from Rafina befit or after Athens Airport.

Loved Marathon Beach resort! Clean hotel with an amazing pool and friendly staff. - Pool snack bar 🍸 Great food and cocktails as you can see in the photos - Clean infinity pool, calm in the week with plenty of sunbeds, much busier at weekends 🏊‍♀️ - Reception staff very helpful with proving information on busses, what to do in Athens, and booking Taxis. ℹ🚕🚍🏛 - Great location in Nea Makri, out the entrance opposite the beach, and 24hr kiosk with plenty of bars and restaurants within 100 meters 🏖 - Beautiful greenery and flowers, but beware of the mosquitos, plenty of spray needed if sitting out on the balcony in the evenings. 🌴🦟 I would certainly recommend Marathon Beach Resort and would return to the resort if I desired to return the Greece 🇬🇷 in the Future.

Lovely hotel, great pool and bar area. Only problem is it does not have proper air conditioning like you normally have in your room which is unfortunate especially in the Greek heat.

Old hotel, stuff during checkin was not really friendly. It has no elevators and with a baby in the upper floor it is a bit difficult. Baby Cod had no matress, that is for a baby a NO GO. Breakfast room was very dirty. Nobody cleaned the table for the new guests. No bathrobes in the room. Housekepping forgot it. The safe in the room was very dirty and wet.

Clean rooms. Renovated. Only the rooms however. The rest of the areas are still in the 70's. Also breakfast was too poor considering the amount we had to pay for the room.
