Lucky Tea Stall, steeped in history since its establishment in 1950, has been a cultural hub for tea enthusiasts. Over the decades, it has preserved its authenticity, serving as a nostalgic space where tradition meets modernity. The vintage decor and traditional brewing methods pay homage to its roots, making it not just a tea destination but a living chronicle of tea culture through the years.

This is very old cafe of Ahmadabad. It is a very unique restaurant. There are 12 grave inside the restaurant and a tree. It is something weird when you are sitting with the grave and simultaneously you are taking tea or meal. But there is a saying that people got lucky after visiting the place. There is nothing to fear and a must visit place if you are in Ahmadabad. The tea and muska bun are very amazing. The tea is rich in flavor and taste. Bun is so soft that it melts into your mouth when you have it. Must visit place.

One of the great tea and very old restaurant in Ahmedabad. The taste of tea so vintage i just loved it. The muskaban bread is so soft that any one will love it. And taste was also great. One thing i dont like it they don't accept online payment you need to have cash with you.

A place popular for Tea & Maska bun, and M.F. Hussain’s painting nearly stood the test. Tea was nice, but lacked a bit of a punch into Maska bun. The taste of the Maska was a bit off, could nearly feel that its tasteless, but could give the place a try for its vibes.

It's in the old city and holds an significance place wherein you can have breakfast, meals and discuss with your loved ones. The best part is the ambience and unique structure of the cafe. There is history attached to it. There are Grave nearby and in between the restaurant, there is a huge tree. You must try their bun maska chai combo.

Best for tea and Maska Bun. Breakfast lunch dinner all options are available. But lucky is famous for tea and maska bun. Now there are many varieties available in Maska Bun, but what they are famous for is white makkhan Maska Bun and the place where they are located (see the video) One of the best in city :)

I wanted to explore this place, for quite some time, and finally got the chance to do it. We tried their hot chocolate, Chocolate maska bun and Aloo muttar cheese sandwich Hot chocolate - Average like in any other tea shop Chocolate maska bun - okish, as we felt, chocolate was very less Cheese aloo mattar sandwich - this a cold sandwich as sandwiches here are not grilled, but was too good Total bill - 155 Service must be improved The one section where you can actually sit among the graves was closed when we went there. I don't feel, why it's so hyped up in Ahmedabad, just if you're on the way there you can explore To know more detailed reviews about food, follow me on Instagram - foodwith_rumbumm and for travel explorewith_rumbumm

Want to experience a chai and maska bun near the graves than go ahead to this restaurant. It's really a different kind of feeling when u sit near the grave and having food. Quite interesting concept. Second main attraction here is the painting by the M F Hussain , owner said MF Hussain came very frequently here . Must go place when u r in Ahmedabad. Otherwise tea and bun is ok ok...just go for the experience of thrill.

This is one of the most popular tea stalls i'm entire Ahmedabad. Situated in main city, the speciality of this is as the name suggests, tea. Along with tea, the makkan bun pav or maskabun is a must have at any time of the day. It is famous as there are 2 graves here and the entire restaurant is built around these graves. There is also a painting out up which is made by the famous artist M F Hussain. Other things availablen here include juices, milk shakes, lassi, etc and there are items like dabeli and vada pav available here for quick bites.

Lucky is an essential visit Just for the sake of it, one has to go and have chai & maska-bun at Lucky. After all it has a legendary status. The "Lucky ni chaa" is symbol of amdavad. Also it gives a feel of old city and heritage. M F Hussain used to be a fan of Lucky chai. They have an original M F painting on their wall. Go there, not so much for the food quality or service or luxury or fine dine, but just for a feel of the place.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Lucky Tea Point in Ahmedabad, and it was a delightful experience from start to finish. The tea served at Lucky Tea Point is truly exceptional. Whether you're a fan of traditional chai or enjoy exploring unique flavors, this place has something to offer for everyone. The teas are brewed to perfection, and the taste is always consistent. What truly stood out during my visit was the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The staff at Lucky Tea Point is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. It's evident that they take pride in their service and are passionate about tea. The ambiance is also worth mentioning. Whether you choose to enjoy your tea indoors or sit outside and soak in the surroundings, Lucky Tea Point provides a comfortable and inviting space for tea enthusiasts. If I were to provide any feedback, it would be to consider expanding the menu with even more tea varieties to cater to different preferences. In conclusion, Lucky Tea Point is a must-visit for tea lovers in Ahmedabad. It's a place where you can savor exceptional tea in a welcoming environment. I look forward to my next visit and trying more of their offerings.

If the word Tea is concerned in Ahmedabad than it has the only Synonym an it is none other then Lucky Tea Stall. Renowned Painter and artist M.F. Hussain's favourite hangout for years Lucky Tea Stall has captured significant place in tea lover's heart. One amazing fact about the place is that it is situated within graves which is most unusual one too. I don't think that any such place is there across Gujarat. Must tries : 1. Masala tea 2. Ginger tea 3. Maska bun plain/jam Taste. 10/10 Price Fair Seating. Semi cozy Experience. 10/10

Travelling across the heritage city of Ahmedabad, you just can't miss this place. One of the iconic joints to have tea and muska bun[Literallytoo much maska and bun was too soft]. Place is the oldest and most popular because of its uniqueness as it is six decades oldest in this area. This place is divided into two places along with graveyards. On one wall, there is a painting by M F Husain, showing an oasis, camels, and a 'kalma'. Every night, the painting by one of India's most valued artists is taken off the wall and kept away safely.

This place is a unique idea put up by lucky (owner).. we visited just to have a look about what it is after lot of people mentioning it.. who ever knows whether it is a fact or just an idea.. but let me get you one thing clear the menu is overpriced as compared to the quality and quantity. And even the staff is so reckless.

You eat with the dead here. They lie just next to you as you have your bun Muska and tea!!! The restaurant is divided into two, and both have graves inside them. The tables are laid next to the graves, painted a bright green and fenced off with railings. The section with the smaller frontage has 16 graves, while the one with the larger one has fewer. People calmly sit next to them and keep eating without even noticing them. It is popular amongst college students and lawyers from the nearby Courts

Unique place for cafe. This cafe has history and being from Ahmedabad I keep coming back for their tea and maska bun. Those two are quite popular but their South Indian dishes are quite good too. MF Hussein donated his painting here as well. Gem in the middle of the city and right next to sidi saiyed jali. Must visit!

If you want to have a spooky experience while having the best bun maska in the A-town then this is the place. It has its own story and you'll love listening to it. Also it is the only place in India to have the original painting of great MF Husain who was a regular visitor to the place and created the masterpiece

The place is very old and normally people visit it for bun maska and tea though they serve all kinds of food now. The tea is okay to taste and the bun maska is also good. This place is unique and if you are in Ahemdabad you can visit it once as if it has many graves around and also they are saying that you get lucky after having tea here.

A restaurant over graves. Steel bars have been erected around the graves so that no one will tread on the deceased, but other than that small protection, the dead are your dinner companions. No one is even sure who the graves belong to, but the prevailing theory is that they belonged to Muslim followers of a 16th century Sufi saint. Personally I didn't like the idea of eating over someone's grave. Food was okay. A painting by M F Hussain was also on the wall.

Lucky Restaurant is a unique dining spot with its distinctive interior decor featuring tombs and graves. While this design might make some patrons uncomfortable, it adds to the restaurant's character. The standout feature is the famous MF Husain painting, a true artistic gem. During my visit, I savored the delectable bun maska chai, chocolate bun muska, a refreshing watermelon juice, and a satisfying cheese sandwich. The menu offers a taste of local flavors. If you appreciate unconventional settings and artistic touches, this place is worth a visit.

Had seen many good reviews for Lucky, so I was eager to visit during my last trip, It's been operational since 1950 has a legacy of 73+ years. But sadly the place lacks good hygiene, it needs a good renovation push, more cleanliness. I have seen many Irani cafes in Mumbai they all maintain good hygiene and cleanliness. I liked the taste of Tea, it was good. Bun Masaka was okaish, Didn't liked it much. Recommended for- for tea lovers ❤️

The combination of the soft bun and the creamy butter was absolutely delightful, creating a perfect balance of flavors. The tea was rich and flavorful, leaving a lingering taste in my mouth. The prices were also reasonable, considering the quality and taste of the food. I highly recommend stopping by this eatery if you're in the area and craving a delicious maska bun and tea.

This is an interesting place in Ahemdabad. A muslim owned vegetarian food restaurant. Food is good and prices are decent. It is famous for its special masala tea. It also got a painting by MF Hussain ji which was basically a gift as the artist often visited the place for tea. A local shared that the area used to be a gravyard which was also evident from the graves (27) inside the restaurant. In all, it is an interesting eating place.

Lucky Restaurant is one of the famous restaurant in Ahmedabad, specially for the people living in old Ahmedabad. It is near Lal darwaza. Lucky Restaurant is build up on the grave of 12 Sufi Saints. His owner decided not to remove these graves and place all the tables and chairs besides these graves and start the restaurant and now this restaurant became the lucky for the owner as its name Lucky Restaurant. This restaurant is really favourite for the famous painter MF Hussain. He always used to come here. His painting is on the wall of this restaurant. However this restaurant is famous for its Tea and maska bun but you will get sandwich, dosa, paneer tikka and so many dishes here. I would request you to must try Tea and maska bun here, you will love it.

Ahmedabad's unique, oldest and only restaurant built around the graveyard serving tea, Maska Bun and meal since 1950. living come to dine amongst the dead. One must visit Lucky Restaurant (tea stall) One Time. I tried their maska bun and ginger and masala tea. Do try their regular maska bun (without jam) with chai although I didn't like tea much as I consume whole milk tea but it was okish.

This is a very old place in ahmedabad serving all the dishes but i hv tried their famous chai and muskabun, chai was ok but they have added more tea leaves and less milk, muskabun was ok too!! Lucky is like the old parsi-run cafés in Mumbai. Good tea, great coffee (Try chocolate Mocha), and a very reasonably priced food menu. There is a Chinese restaurant with the same name next to it. You can have a maska bun and a coffee watching the smiling faces of Ahmedabad. It is not a closed door café. Hence plese do not expect air conditioned atmosphere. There is an MF Hussain gifted painting decorated on the wall if you are an art lover. Do come here by a rickshaw or a two wheeler because finding a parking spot for a car will be a headache for you.

One of the oldest tea stall in Ahmedabad and world’s only tea stall built around the cemetery. Good place for tea lover and for some quick snacks. Along with the cup of tea and Maska bun, you will get to see a spectacular original painting by well known Indian painter M.F. Husain. This area is lal darwaja which is considered to be the most attracting tourist spot in the city. So next time you come for shopping near lal darwaja don't forget to have a cup of tea with delicious maska bun.

Lucky's special chai with maska bun.lucky was special for me because I was literally surrounded by 26 graves and eating my food. Once I felt hesitant because I was sitting near a grave then I found people are enjoying their maska bun and chai or their meal without thinking about graves as this is normal for them. I asked one of them employees about graves they said these graves are 400 years old. But the main thing is the food was amazing, I had the best veg fried rice here. Overall one should visit at least once there. Experience is everything. Eating beside graves. Chai for rs 25 and muska bun with gem rs. 30 Best Thali for 150/- So u can see rates are reasonable according to amazing taste.

One of the best tea I had ever taste it. It's not very costly like the price of one cup of tea is normal as compared to other restaurants, and here you can see an original one of the famous painting of MF HUSSAIN.

This Lucky Restaurant in Ahmedabad allows you to dine with the dead. A lot quirky things keep happening here that no one can possibly explain. New Lucky restaurant in Ahmedabad, which is more than 50 years old and is built around graves and coffins. Yes, you heard me right! This has coffins and food tables sitting right next to each other. There are 12 graves inside the restaurant and locals believe that these graves belong to some Sufi saints from the 16th century. Waiters here decorate these graves with fresh flowers each day after cleaning them and pay their respects.

  • 4/5 Swati G. 1 year ago on Google
We had lucky special tea which was good. Ordered maska buns which were heard to be famous along with tea. But this combination of mix fruit jam maska bun or cheesy maska bun doesn't go well with tea. I can say this can be one stop point for tea 🍵 you won't regret.

So I had a chance to mark my attendance to this famous cafe/restaurant in Ahmedabad. Unique thing about this outlet : The outlet has tombs spread across its area and it is designed such that they also grace thier presence prominently! Although it may seem spooky but I think you should have a try keeping aside this fact and just enjoying the dishes they serve . Irani chai is the most spoken about thing , so I had it and nonetheless it tasted really awsome and was very thick in texture ✨ Also bun maska is their famous item which I will have a go at my next outing . Enjoy your time to this unique outlet !

Waiting out a monsoon after we had had a few chais and their famous Maske bun. Card was slipped onto our table, suggesting we leave to make way for other customers. Occupancy was about 60%.. Lack of hospitality not appreciated😕

It’s a little unusual and weird to sit beside graves and sip a cup of tea but there are people who don’t mind. And it’s always filled with people till midnight Bun Maska was really good, they also have good fresh juices to offer. It’s an extremely local and chai tapri vibe.

Lucky Restaurant, a cherished culinary gem in the heart of old Ahmedabad near Lal Darwaja, is renowned for its unique charm. Its interior décor, featuring tombs and graves, lends an unparalleled character to the establishment. While this distinctive design might not be to everyone's taste, it undeniably contributes to the restaurant's one-of-a-kind ambiance. During my recent visit, I had the pleasure of savoring their delightful bun maska and chai, along with a satisfying cheese sandwich. Lucky Restaurant's menu is a delightful showcase of local flavors, making it a fantastic choice for those seeking an authentic culinary experience. If you have an affinity for unconventional settings with artistic touches, this establishment is definitely worth a visit. On the constructive side, the restaurant could benefit from a bit more space and an improvement in cleanliness, but these minor drawbacks do not overshadow the overall experience. I would rate it at 4 stars, acknowledging its uniqueness and culinary offerings.

Since I heard its old restaurant I felt must be popular but as expected from my community restaurants it was zero in hygiene the waiters looked as if they have not bathed for two days ,uniform was looking unwashed . As muslim I definitely did not like the idea of grave seems like all drama. I wanted to have breakfast but they only have tea sandwiches no choice in food items. Go have a experience of drinking tea next to grave if you are stupid to feel its unique.

Its an iconic place in old ahemdabad, its a regular chai tapari, nothing great about it, except the painting and the fact that its built around graves. The special lucky tea and maska bun is regular.

Nice restaurant over the road from my hotel. Popped in for early dinner before official 7pm so it was just a snack, so a Mysore Dosa it was. Restaurant has a growing tree in the middle of the building and small graves (dead people graves!) dotted around . Great place and tasty food.
