It’s a place to must must visit in Ahmedabad, for authentic food taste . Actually I’m from Surat and from Ahmedabad airport I was going Surat and I were looking for good Resturant. And I’m really glad that I visited The Green House . We ordered fresh hydrating juice , hummus with pita Bread , Panipuri, dudhi muthiya rice papad and shrikhand . Everything was so tasty and delicious, chutney were fresh. We love that interior of restaurant greenery and open kitchen, very hygienic clean, I must say management here is really nice.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at the Green House Cafe within the House of MG, and it was truly an exceptional experience. The cafe not only impressed me with its super delicious Gujarati snacks and main courses but also left a lasting impression with its soothing outdoor ambiance. The Gujarati snacks were a delightful journey through authentic flavors, each bite bursting with traditional taste. From the crispy khandvi to the flavorful dhoklas, every dish showcased the rich culinary heritage of Gujarat. The variety and freshness of ingredients added a vibrant touch to the entire dining experience. What truly elevated the experience was the cafe's outdoor ambience. Surrounded by lush greenery and bathed in soft, natural light, it provided a serene and relaxing setting. It was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, creating an atmosphere where one could savor the delectable food while enjoying the tranquility of the surroundings. The staff's attentive service further enhanced the overall experience. They were knowledgeable about the menu, offering recommendations that perfectly complemented my preferences. The attention to detail, from presentation to service, showcased a commitment to providing a memorable dining experience. In conclusion, the Green House Cafe at the House of MG not only impressed me with its super delicious Gujarati snacks and food but also provided a calming outdoor ambience that added a touch of magic to the dining experience. It's a perfect spot for anyone looking to indulge in authentic Gujarati cuisine in a serene and beautiful setting. Highly recommended!

Eating at this restaurant is a fantastic experience. The staff is courteous, helpful, and patient. Also, the service is quick. Starters that are not Gujarati should be avoided. The Gujarati dishes are genuine and delicious. Jalebi with rabdi was insanely delicious; you must try it! The meal is on the pricey side, but the atmosphere, food flavour, and quality make up for it. So, absolutely, you may go there once in a while.

1 star only because of the effort the chef who prepared Assamese food put in. Rest there is absolutely nothing for one to praise. The service is horribly slow and inefficient. I counted no less then 15-20 people in the kitchen and service, but still the service was slower than a tortoise. All the staff is running around all the time, but won't listen when you call. We had to wait 1 hour to get the Assamese thali we ordered. Though it was a Sunday, there was not much crowd, but still people had to wait a lot to get seated and then again wait to get their food. There is no AC in the Green House Cafe as it is open, only if you sit inside Agashiye, there is AC seating. Food was also decent, not extraordinary. They invite different home chefs on different days for a variety of cuisines. Only visit there if you are interested in that. 1000 per thali was the cost, but guess what they said when I asked for tissue paper - 'Tissue is finished'. Such a posh restaurant with such exhorbitant prices doesn't have tissue and the service is the worst I have seen till date. Skip it, you won't regret.

I had lot of expectations from this restaurant , went for morning meal and shockingly everything you want to order as Chole bhature , paw bhaji , even moctail drinks all starts serving after 12 noon , For service if possible I will give Zero stars , Super bad management can’t forget only the chef lady was kind and offered us free traditional food as we couldn’t order anything we wanted before 12 , rest all staff was working horrible can’t forget we ordered fresh lime water and what came was ants inside and extremely sweet drinks , not recommended

Soothing, peaceful and full of green trees. The Green house is the place a midst of the hustle of the city and exactly opposite to Sidi Saiyad mosque in Ahmedabad. It serves great food with humble and helpful staff. Parul is a happiness spreading chef with here courteous nature. She guided us through the menu. We enjoyed the breakfast to the fullest. Thank you The Green house and really grateful Parul. Keep doing good work.

Located inside the gates (but outside the hotel), in the courtyard garden of the mansion turned hotel House of MG is aesthetically pleasing and serves up yummy food particularly the traditional Gujarati dishes. I am definitely going here again! Coming to the main aspect - food - we ordered all traditional Gujrati dishes and loved each one of them. (Names and pics below) The ambience is lovely, fresh, green with the hotel’s heritage building and decor in sight. Service is quick and attentive with everyone very polite. We went there on a particularly stressful day (post cricket match dinner) which meant the place was continuously full but yet our service was commendable. As it’s not air conditioned (do have fans though), I will suggest going here in light but dressed attire and on a pleasant day.

Ambience of this cafe is great, but not the food. It seems like just the signature dishes are the one chefs are preparing with all heart and not the other dishes. The place doesn't lives upto the mark. Had to leave from the place disappointed.

My Google Review # 000275. Green House is a buffet & a-la-carte restaurant for the hotel – House of MG. Stayed in the hotel and had my breakfast and dinner in this place. I ordered the limited thali which was – I must say – awesome. Curated with Bajri Ki Roti and Chane and dhania-paneer, this thali was worth it. The service was good, but there were loose ends when the restaurant was running full. Their USP is the Bronze/ Brass cutlery in which they serve you, besides the taste of the dishes. The buffet breakfast which was a part of the room tariff – was however disappointing. The Idlis and Upmas were running cold in the serving counter. Considering it to be a heritage hotel and the tariff it charges, Green House should have more variety in the buffet. More so, as it is a pure vegetarian outlet. I recount staying at Marriott’s and Crowne Plaza of Ahmedabad city itself and believe me – their buffet was “large” in the true sense. Requested for tea every time with more ginger due to a persistent headache, but what was served was the run-of-the-mill tea being made for the entire crowd. The Upma had excess of salt in it and when I pointed it out to the chef, in pure Hindi language – he gave me a “lost-in-the-universe” look!! Feedback : Seeing different idols of Sanatan Dharma placed everywhere gives an illusion that the hotel abides by the true values of Sanatan. Personally, I detest the manner in which the idols were showcased. Especially, the pose of a saint/ warrior kept below the peepal tree with its head beheaded and red paint made to spring above it! Worth a single visit for the experience. Date of Experience: January 2023.

Visited Green house on 19th April. Service and atmosphere was really amazing, servers made sure we have good experience, they were friendly. But as my expectations was high on food, it didn't felt upto the mark. Thali was very basic, everything in it was tasteless. Chole bhature was okay okay, shreekhand was amazing. Dosa Platter was again okay not upto the mark. Pankhi was good, drinks were good.

One of the best places I have ever been to. Must if you are in Ahmedabad. And avoid going to Agashiye cafe. Be prepared to be sophisticatedly well dressed else you might get an inferiority complex from green house cafe staff.😄 Ambiance will make you realise it's a land of Gandhi ji. After the appetite you may enjoy the sabarmati riverfront view. About food: Moong dal bhindi (okra) is a must try. And avoid having drinks because those are just good however the rest of the things are excellent, especially the desserts.

The food was good, a bit pricey but for the ambience and setting it's all worth it. We tried the sampler thali, Khichdi with kadhi and Uttapam. All the dishes we tried were authentic as far as the taste goes.

Good place to hang out with your buddies. House of MG is one of the best place to be in. You can also visit full property. It is a UNESCO site. We had ordered - Phulka + Paneer Mix Veg - Yummy taste. Achaar was also good Gujarati platter - They didn't have Panki. Dhokla - decent Patra - Good Handvo - Nicee Chutney is also good. Malpuva - Super tatsy Would Recommend this place. Come here and try atleast once. Portions are small. But worth a try.

It feels awesome to be there, because of ambience and taste of food, but frankly it has overpriced food varieties. You can really enjoy the taste of food, but the same can be available at various authentic Gujarati restaurant in Ahmedabad. You do not need to pay the hefty price that they are offering for such servings. Yes, the heritage touch is next level.

  • 1/5 Devprashanth K. 2 years ago on Google
I would have given a zero if possible. A very poor front of house. All I could see was bunch of staff and manager walking around, but no work being done or service being offered. As you enter the restaurant, one does not know whom to contact to reserve a seat. It is only after 10 minutes of waiting do you see the manager sitting at the far corner inside. It is really cumbersome to get a table and equally cumbersome to order food. For an establishment that provides sub par food, I think they should get the service system right. Maybe a visit to a local restaurant would enlighten them about the running of a restaurant business.

Really bad experience. While the food was okay. The customer service was utterly awful. The staff seemed disinterested in servicing. They didn't even remember to serve all of our order nor were there such simple things as mouth fresheners after meal. I don't have any such complaints against the food. I mean I only had very basic dishes. But the customer service and the overall experience was pretty poor. I had better expectations upon entering the place.

Searched Google for Pet Friendly Restaurants in Ahmedabad and the first name was of this restaurant. Wanted to go there for lunch today, so called them to confirm that the place allows pets. They said it is not a pet friendly place and you can't bring your pet there. There's a review on Google saying it's pet friendly. Is it selective permission for pets?

Oh its an amazing experience to eat at this place. The staff is polite helpful patient. The service is also fast. The starter items which are not gujarati should be avoided. So yes once in a while you can sure visit the place.

The Green House restaurant is located in the centre of Ahmedabad at Lal darwaja area and just opposite to Sidi Saiyed Mosque. U can have option to sit in the AC room or have an outside seating which seems closure to nature. Your kids can have fun at their kid zone named Gammat whereas your wife can also buy accessories from their art gallery. One unique thing of the restaurant is that u can ring the bell (available on your table) to call the waiter. Though it is a little bit expensive, one should atleast give a try to enjoy his ambience and food. U can find many foreigners visitor here. One thing that I don't like about it is that they don't serve finger bowl.

Wonderful ambiance, good food and superly located in the old city of Ahmedabad. It's a good place to start/finish a walk around the heritage area. It's also reasonably priced considering the general vibe and clientele it attracts. The restrooms are also quite fancy although their taps are over-pressurised leading to water splashing everywhere. There's also plenty of parking available if you don't come here using public transport.

Straight to the point. This place is rediculously over priced! All the positive 5 star reviews are by locals. They seem like fake or paid reviews. These locals who have given these 5 star ratings must be very rich and don't care about quality or quantity. They are definitely fake reviews!Prices are not justified in the quality and definitely not in the quantity! What you are paying for is the ambiance. If that! I would NOT recommend this place to anyone. Unless you have money you wish to throw away. I would suggest you to find a alternative. Six. small Dal Vada cost me 255! My 200 ml water was 40! Mind you you can get 1lt in many restaurants for that price. My Masala Chai was 175! My one Dabeli was 145! Definitely NOT WORTH IT! Food was average. My total bill 565, my 3 star hotel for 1 night cost the same.

Taste was amazing..but Worst kind of service. The portion is so small for the price they are charging. We were 4 on the table and the staff just took the order without mentioning the portion size. Might be they are uninformed that a portion serves only 2. They made us wait 20 minutes for the order and to our surprise it was just enough for 2 of us. The one who took the order was seen at the cash counter for most of the time after taking order. No one was near the table at any point of dine in. The daal rice combination was a disaster wherein you can double the quantity of rice for one portion of daal. The pricing is premium due to the ambience and food quality. Full marks for food quality but zero marks for staff. They only take foreigners seriously.
