I can't say that I enjoyed the hotel as much as I would have liked. Can't be denied that the location is perfect and it's easily accessible to reach interesting spots of the city. It also has a big parking space in the basement. Therefore transport and access become my highlights here. There's also a gym available, not very spacious but enough to complete your daily exercise if you wish to. However, the room was not up to my expectations. Decoration seemed quite dull and too old-fashioned. I'm not sure if it's meant to be like this or simply is a category that they are missing to pay more attention to. Decoration shouldn't be an issue if you just stay overnight but it definitely affects your comfort and adjustment to the place if you stay over two nights, specially considering the amount of money which is being paid. It also felt quite empty. Just basic amenities. But I suspect it was the lack of charm what made me develop this opinion. Lastly, I was not very comfortable with the lady at the reception. She was not rude, but she used to observe so much whenever I would come in or leave that I couldn't help but feel uncomfortable about the same. I appreciate when people act more discreet in this regard.

The hotel is under renovation after taken over by Fern. It will take around 3 4 months time to get things in place. Rooms were not maintained properly, restaurant was small and packed. Food though was enjoyable.

Decent stay option in Ahmedabad, specially if you are looking for something close to Ahmedabad. The rooms are really big and offer a perfect value for money. The food is good and they also have a 24 hours cafe. The hotel is close to a variety of sight seeing places namely River front, Sabarmati Ashram, Atal Bridge, Hatheesingh jain temple and many more. The staff is well courteous and trained.

Very good. Soup is generally made of tomato sauce and tasted the same every day. They have a licensed wine and spirit shop for travelers. You need to take a permit to buy liquor. It is very close to Gandhi Ashram and River Front. In all a good place to stay with easy accessibility to airport and railway station.

The hotel is nicely furnished. The service is quick. It is quite clean. The beds have quite a bit of bounce. The breakfast is pretty well spread and made well too. Rooms are well equipped. I couldn't find anything to complain about.

Nice place, well kept and maintained. Cleanliness and hygiene was very good. Greenery was nice and since my room was just in front of swimming pool so that view also was an added advantage. Staff is very good and very helpful and attended to our requests at any time.

The best Hotel to stay in Ahmedabad near Subhash bridge, RTO. This hotel is comfortably placed for Airport and Railway Station passengers This hotel is very economical and gives the feel of staying in 5 Star. It also has Liquor shop and if you are from outside Gujarat, then you can get the permit for Liquor if you stay here for 2 days and more time. Rooms are decent and food is very good. Try this Hotel if you are coming to Ahmedabad.

We went to this hotel on 16th Jan to attend one wedding followed by reception. Our experience was awful. During the wedding, they served us mixed pakoda which were not at all tasty. There were big pieces of cauliflower in pakoras and they tasted very raw. Once the first lot was consumed, the next replenishment was not ready. Even during the wedding, they ran out of the kachori filling and they started serving kachoris with potato filling. If you are planning to select this hotel for a wedding or party, think twice.

Our company employees stayed in this hotel and it was a pathetic experience. Earlier it was known as The Metropole and was pretty much decent to stay for business trips. But lately it has been taken over by The Fern Residency and had a very bad experience. Staff was not professional. The rooms had foul smell and walls were wet. There was clogging issue in the washroom basin. Overall a big no for families, business trips. We can consider it not more than an Oyo room.

I stayed here before few years back and I enjoyed my stay, but this time I am very much disappointed. I waited for the front desk services. The rooms are not with the price it's so dull atmosphere not well coming at all. Just looks nice from outside but inside is disappointing . Would not recomend to anyone.

The owner was there when we are dealing. I found him very rude with everyone, ridiculous , illiterate , drowned in ego. Otherwise property is good.

Staff is unprofessional and slow. Cannot access their data base to have your name and ID, doesn't matter if you stayed here last week only. Rooms doesn't have sleepers. Food is okay okay. Since Fern Residency taken over the Hotel. Quality is deteriorated immensely of staff as well as rooms maintenance. We have used this since 2015, it was okay back then but now, i wont recommend it to anyone as there much better options available here. This Fern Residency Hotel is old construction, washbasin can turn to bath tubs so that your hands while washing will be in the clogged water in the basin taking the dirty bath. Rooms have wet walls and paint chipping out. Foul smell. You can consider it as an OYO Room "good for couples", check the reviews down the line, you will understand what kind of gentry is acceptable to this Hotel. BIG NO FOR CORPORATE TRAVELLERS like us.

This review is about liquor shop available here. They are not Indian visitors (coming from different states of India) friendly! They treat you like a criminal. Asking lot of questions and demand hell lot of things (e.g. proof of identity card where we work, welcome message of operator when we entered in the state, etc.). As per my understanding, the only thing required is proof of travel, purpose of visit & where you're staying. They will make you feel like harassed and embarrassing.

Untrained & inadequate staff & service. Food taste is also not good. We went with our guests to make them feel good but felt very bad experience.

Very badly maintained. Not to Fern standards. Had stains on bed, paint is peeling off. Promised change in room next day, but refused next day. The towels were too dirty / stiff due to over use.

The Metropole Hotel is located at heart of Ahmedabad i.e. Ashram Road. Near to Gandhi Ashram and rever front of Sabarmati. Service is excellent, food is superb especially breakfast. Location, as I said live. Connectivity to local as well as state transport is best. BRTS, Metro and ST Stop are nearby. Hotel is having permitted liquor shop also which is comfort for foreigners as well as other states travellers. The Metropole hotel has multiple conference halls to fulfill the requirements of various occasions like small get together to party, marriage and professional conferences.

It is just about a couple of hours after checking out of the hotel, and I am missing the ambience., the food and to top it all the ever smiling face of Santoo Chakrabirti. I had been visiting ahmedabad to attend a wedding of my nephew. The lodging and boarding was arranged at the hotel. On reaching the hotel on 19th night, the welcome may not have been good, as we reached at an unearthly hour past much past midnight, but woke up a pleasant surprise and the smiling face of the manager. Immediately the impression changed. Food righstartonv from breakfast till dinner was awesome. I am delighted to have stayed at such a nice place

Very poor hotel and very bad experience. Today I went to bathroom door lock jammed. My friends informed service section but they took 1.30 hour to open the jammed lock. My suggestion to all visitors before going to bathroom carry your mobile phone, news paper, and a chair otherwise if unfortunately door lock jammed no body will come to help u.

Better to avoid. Staff are OK. Toilet not upto expectation. Big flies were there in the room. They take undertaking that for all happenings in the room we are responsible but we could see leftover liquor bottle in the room.

@metropolehotelamd 's 24/7 all day dinning coffee shop offers lip smacking veg as well as non veg options. I tried their veg and non veg both. I liked the quality of food they serve. Staff is polite. Service was really good. They have really good, pocket friendly fixed and combos meals too.

Rooms are not so big and the space is more like the transit hotels. Too much of furniture's when the space is limited is difficult and here it was more such. Did not try any food because of the experience with the complimentary breakfast. There were not much choices and the Food was cold. However, there was a live counter. Ordered for an omelet and Dosa from the live counter and they told they ‘d serve it to the table. But it never came and I didn’t remind too.

Metropolitan banquet hall We have arrange birthday party there Banquet space is good for function, parking is there in basement and ground floor. Banquet and hotel have two seprate gate is good to manage guest. Food quality is not good as per 3 star also as per price. Services of Banquet is not good. Guest have to wait too much for food, quality of food is bad, magnet response is also not good. Too bad Management and no one is taking responsibility. Overall as per restaurant and price its too bad for services.

I booked this hotel looking at the old brand name of Ahmedabad but it prooves the famous Hindi Saying "ऊँची दुकान फीके पकवान" . The journey of my struggle with this hotel started right from my entrance to the hotel. I would try to sum it up through following issues: 1.) I reached at hotel before the checkin time (12:00 PM) and requested the reception to provide the room, of available. Initially they denied for it. However, she already done the checkin formality including collecting my ID card over hotel's whatsapp account. After an hour or so, the receptionist offered me a room with additional amount (saying that its early checkin price). For which I denied and decided to wait till 12:00 PM. Since it was a business trip I requested the receptionist to provide the room soon at 12:00 PM, so that I can be on time for my scheduled meeting in Ahmedabad. However, even after back to back follow ups, the receptionist regret for unavailability of any room till 12:30 PM. After 12:30 PM when I raised this disappointing thing, a room has been provided to me. 2. After reaching at hotel room (Room No. 209), I saw broken tap in the washroom, wet walls near the bad, insects in the room. It was the situation post cleaning by the housekeeping staff. 3. One of my colleague (boy) wanted to stay with me due to an urgent meeting in the early morning (next day). So he contacted the hotel and asked for the formalities and additional fare. The hotel staff confirmed the lump sum amount of INR 500+ taxes to checkin in the same room with me. However, after reaching at the hotel, they mentioned that he will have to pay 1500 + taxes. While he mentioned his previous discussion with staff, they did bargaining and finalized the amount of INR 1000 + taxes. My colleague then decided to pay INR 1000 + taxes without doing argument. He also raised the disappointment to the receptionist. 4. At night, we ordered the food from zomato. While the zomato delivery boy reached at the hotel , the receptionist called in our room and said that outside food is not allowed. She said that while taking the ID card details on whatsapp this thing may have confirmed to us. While I shown the whatsapp to receptionist and said that there is not a single message received from the hotel, she regretted and allowed the food to the room after 10-15 minutes. 5. In the next morning, we went to the hotel's restaurant to have the breakfast (buffet breakfast was included in the hotel booking). While looking at the kept food, we clearly saw the insects moving around sandwiches, table spoons and tongs, Also the mosquitos round. I called the serving boy and shown the same. After which the services boy just picked the sandwiches and went towards the kitchen. The table spoons and tongs were there only. Many other guests used those utensils to take the food. While leaving the hotel, I again shared my entire feedback with the receptionist and requested to look into these serious issues. For which, she requested to provide the feedback in written. I hope the hotel administration and the management will look into the issues for the benefit of upcoming guests, prospect travelers and even for continuation of the hotel operations. Thank you.

I heard the reviews were very good but when i went there the staff members were not showing interest in serving and first of all atleast they serve water they didn't serve even that. And there were very cheap people around like there was a man who was speaking bad words like anything. Won't recommend this place

Old is gold. It's not too old. But still it's gold. I visited many times. Everything is good. Food is awesome. I like the khaari tost more. Prime location near Subhash bridge Ahmedabad. Very near to Gandhi ashram. Ahmedabad RTO. I think all areas of Ahmedabad is easily reachable from here.
