Shalby hospital in Sarkhej highway in Ahmedabad is one of the biggest and well known hospital in India and patients across India comes to visit this hospital for their knee replacement surgery. However, it is a shame that a 9 storey building only has 1 working lift. That too for patient. I hope the management does something as both the visitor and service lifts are not working for most of the time.

Its not hospital, its money making business hub. least bothered with patient and their financial situation, they ask for lakhs of rupees which includes their undigested charges. People spent their entire life saving here and sometime beg from others but they least bothered, they just want their profit. Support staff are from middle class family and they might know all the realities and still support hospital which is big question. You made medical treatment part of huge profit making business unit from low profit organization. The doctor oath completely vanished here. "I shall perform medical tests only if there is a reasonable chance that the results will improve the outcome for my patients. I will not perform any tests or procedures or surgery solely to make money."

Worst experience in billing section.On payment of bills from credit and debit cards they are charging customers additional 1.5 and 1% merchant charges that HDFC bank is charging from them and they are charging from customers thereby promoting cash transactions.

Billing process was a bit hackling. Staff was not that courteous. Nursing staff was very nice and polite. Surgery went fine.

This hospital is one way gateway to hell. If you care for yourself and your family dont think of coming here. Nobody in this hospital knows what is going on, we had to cancel our surgery which was due, as entire staff in hospital has no idea what to do.The patient was left for hours unattended standing in front of emergency room, there is no coordination here, reports were done after hours of follow up and reminders. The only thing there were good at , is calling up every few minutes , for depositing money, and thats all they care about.

I am a physician in Dallas, TX, USA. I decided to get myself operated at Shalby SG by Dr. Vikram Shah, as his surgical skills and experience are unmatchable, particularly "zero technique" with which he operates. It causes less blood loss, less pain and quicker recovery. I underwent total knee replacement on 7th December, 2022, the day I landed at Ahmedabad airport! The blood tests, x rays, EKG, ECHO, lung function test, cardiology consultation - everything happened within less than one hour! This is unimaginable in USA. Within hours of surgery, I walked unassisted. The next day, I climbed the stairs! I never required any assistive devices to help me walk nor any strong pain killers. All the ancillary services here are top class. Dr Shema Saxena and Dr Sanjay Patel were friendly and efficient medical officers. The physical therapists, Dr. Ankitbhai and Dr. Tyagi patiently and painstakingly worked with me to regain the range of motion. They were quite encouraging at the slightest improvement. Arpitaben, 7th floor nurse in-charge herself visited everyday and made sure, everything was in order. She updated me about plan of the day. Her team of nurses were very professional and polite. Chetanaben, the dietitian affectionately fed me food of my choice. Housekeeping services kept the room clean. During my stay of 5 days, I even got my eyes checked and got new pair of glasses! I got a cap for one of my tooth fixed. In USA, these would have taken weeks of waiting and would have been 10 times more expensive. I would strongly recommend Shalby SG to my family and friends, without any reservation. They are rest assured world class treatment in an affectionate and homely environment. Later I moved to Krishna Shalby for physical therapy and rehabilitation (see my separate review).

I went their as my slot for 1st vaccine was scheduled here. It was totally a hassle free work. I wemt downstairs , showes my registration, done wid payment and boom their was no crowd at all . I took my shot although i was afraid but the nurse was very co operative she helped me out 😁. Overall i loved them.

it is a chain of hospital they have 4 branches in Ahmedabad and this One is best, it is not recommended for everyone because their visiting fees are a bit higher then Norma hospitals, they have one good thing all the doctors are available at all the branches at their given Days of week the ambience is very good here everything is very neat and clean and very well maintained, they have every kind of doctors available for any problem you have they have security at every floor and the reception counter is also very good and they assist you best they can it is specially known for knee replacement surgery's and we are fully satisfied with their service they give, their ICU ward is very strict and they have some procedures and safety measures plus time to visit someone is 10PM.

I had tasted my teeth on january 2020, now greater rhen 1 year completed but experience very worst because After checkup my tooth In this hospital, there filled unnecessary and cleaning with hole. And before have no any hole in my tooth. Within one month my filling fall (destroyed) and now can not eat by my teeth and now it is problematic for me. Even my second experience that dr. Dont know what will declare ill, dr. Said yo me i have TB patient but i have full proof i was not TB patient. Summary that: you will be good condition before checkup. After checkup your body can be loss.

The best hospital to my experience in Ahmedabad. The doctors and nursing staff are very kind hearted and helpful. The nursing staff is just a call button away. I was admitted for skin burns on the day of Diwali and the day being biggest festival in Gujarat didn't affect the emergency service response. The hospital rooms open to nice views on both the sides. One side gives you rising run view with nice landscape. The other side gives you view of the Karnavati Club Ahmedabad. I have been at this hospital for medical services for my family for a long time.

They wanted me to rate earlier where no one have helped me either way. Till today my certificate even after a week Is not be updated in cowin website. When called the centre said that's because hospital must not have updated and have to visit them again. Sheer time wastage, money consumption and time wastage. Bad rating will be given now. Government doing such things for the public but the hospital is not bothered to take it forward. They got the money from the customer. That's what they are concerned about. Sheer shame!!

A ton of manipulated reviews! Even if you simply google how they over charge and provide substandard services youll know what I mean. My mother’s bunion surgery went wrong. Everytime I see her feet I feel so bad that the doctors at Shalby though theyd get away with an experimental surgery. They never accepted that the surgery went wrong. My mother cannot walk properly anymore.

I visited this hospital today, first time for treatment of my ankle injury and believe me, it was very pathetic experience of inhuman behaviour. After check-up, Dr Anup Kerketta gave me the prescription slip and told me to take the medicines and ankle belt from medical store at ground floor. I went to medical store and told them to give the medicines, the lady sitting on the counter forced me to take medicine for 30 days even though Dr prescribed for 21 days only. When I asked for the reason, she told me that she is not allowed to cut the strip so taking 30 days medicines is only option. This doesn't end here, she gave me the wrong ankle belt and after my objection only, she changed it and gave me the correct one. I went to the doctor to learn how to wear the belt. He checked and told me that the size of the belt is not correct and I have to get it changed. I again went to medical store at ground floor and told the lady sitting there to give me the correct size. In turn, she gave me a different type of belt saying that it is the same. I again went to first floor to show the belt to the doctor, meanwhile Dr Anup has left and his resident doctor was present. He told that this belt is not correct and told me to get it changed. I requested to the resident doctor to talk to medical store to avoid any miscommunication as I was finding it very difficult to roam in between doctor and medical store. He told that I have to only contact medical store and if the correct belt not available, I can purchase it from outside pharmacy. I would have gone to some private clinic also but I visited this hospital thinking that I will get complete treatment under one roof which was a mistake. I was a patient of ankle injury and was not able to even walk due to pain, still I was made to go between first floor and ground floor three times. Ultimately I went to the medical store and collected my file and left the hospital with huge disappointment.

It is a good hospital. I was hospitalised many times and found myself in different cities but realized that this hospital was better than the rest. From food, nursing, hygiene, staffs all were good. Still the bathrooms need more attention. The visiting charges everytime is quite a business, really didn't liked it. Last but not the least, don't enter there without insurance. 😁

It's one of the Ahmedabad's quite helpful & facilitate hospital. Service, Staff, & other facilities, are good as well. But would suggest only if you don't care about the facility & other bills & charges. Overall experience is very well.

1. Doctor's are qualified but counseling with family or relatives of patient is not open and clear vision. Need to look after so that relatives can manage accordingly. 2. Night staff in ICU not properly attend and feedback to morning staff, due to thid doctor could not get proper report of patient and how can he give treatment ? 3. Charges are too high. Need to help poor and middle class family. Atleast allow Aayushman card for treatment in and during admission which is currently not allow.

Worst experience of discharge process, mediclaim department is not really active and there is lack of responsiveness in terms of updates. The discharge was scheduled to be done by 5pm but it was delayed by 4 hours. I guess ones are treated with hospitality till the bill meter keeps on running.

Went for vaccination on 13.6.21 slot 12.30 to 5. It was a mismanaged show. No social distancing was there in the queue. Overcrowding was there. No checking of time slot. All were given paper token by security person whose mask was well below the nose. People were taken to one of the top floors for vaccination in a big group in lift. Ultimately we left the place without taking vaccine with a fear of catching the virus in such a crowded place.

We booked a slot for Booster dose but despite the booking they did not honour it .Nothing like this was updated on the COWIN site by the hospital. Just harassing the customers. The major reason, their representative said was the reduction in cost of the vaccination by the Govt.

Everything is good about the hospital, be it the hospital staffs, attendants, Doctors, In-patient care, etc. The only things that matters is the TPA department, they are quite negligent and irresponsible. They sent a lower amount in claim intimation to the insurer for cashless reimbursement, but the hospital charged quite inflated bill after surgery. This ultimately led to the insurer denying the excess amount over the cashless claim intimation amount initially approved by the insurer, hence I had to serve the excess amount on my own. This is a serious matter of concern. The hospital administration should look into this. It has completely ruined my experience. It is better not to go for cashless treatment rather go for the post hospitalization reimbursement from insurer because in that way you can save yourself from the inflated bill the hospital gives you.

Services are good, staff was very supportive. One suggestion to provide consultation after all reports are available. One tray or desk can be kept in washroom for urine samples to be left over there.

The opd staff here is absolutely fantastic. They are super friendly and caring and they made us feel at home! It didn’t feel like a hospital at all so the patient felt comfortable the whole time.

Under trained staff, poor hygiene, doctors just talk for 2 minutes in a day, they don't even tell what the diagnosis is. The hospital doesn't have basic hygienic ammenities-tissues, napkins, newspaper, water bottle. The staff is very slow and nurses are not well equipped to handle the patient. The washrooms are not even clean. They smell a lot and has water leaking. A poor experience all in all.
