The place is easy to access.. The entire theme is good, based on Gujarat's village. The sitting arrangment is unique, you can either take table or you can sit on ground to have food. Whole dish costs 781 rupees for single person. Food was good.. better to visit at day time for taking pictures.. the atmosphere at night is different due to lantern 🏮🎃 it is almost like a candle light dinner at night

Five star hospitality with pure countryside rural ambiance is the speciality of this place. We have tried so many Gujarati thali in Ahmedabad during this India trip, but the experience at Vishala was definitely the best with slightly over-priced (Rs 700/- per person) menu. Many pictures of celebrities were displayed eating here. The light was too low to see with clarity and my concern was that bug’s don’t fall into the food. There were other attractions too like folk dance, puppet show, swings and utensil museum. There are so many items served during the start of main course manly salad kind items. At the end of the dinner, we noticed that most of the items were wasted and thrown into garbage, which is kind of sad and wastage of national resources. The menu starts with welcome drink (while watching the folk dance) and ends with ice cream and masala kharek. The pan is served at extra price. The staff was courteous and polite dressed in typical rural Gujarati attire. The expectations of tips by folk dancers and puppet show people doesn’t go very well with the overall theme of rich traditional atmosphere.

Vishalla is one of its own kind restaurant in Ahmedabad with a village-like ambience where you can have simple, desi, yet lipsmacking food in the lap of nature. You'll get a full gujarati unlimited thaali here, made with pure ingredients. Thier hospitality is so amazing that you'll definitely end up eating a little more with thier staff's insistence! And, the best part is that instead of modern crockeries, they use sustainable leaf-based plates and bowls, and earthen glasses made in-house in thier pottery. The food and hospitality isn't the only best thing here though. To ensure you have a good time with a great meal, they have an art gallery, utensil museum, swings, folk dance, puppet show and much more. Don't forget to have thier wonderful icecreams at the end if you ever visit this fantastic place!

March 4th, 2020 Keeping things as native as possible, the theme is eco friendly with Sal leaf plates, in-house fabricated kulhads (earthen glasses), ash instead of soap to wash hands, mud flooring, low wooden tables, ground seating, bamboo walls, absence of electronic aids like mikes and speakers for entertainment, natural light in the daytime, lanterns at night and other such natural elements. At lunch, set meals like puri shaak, rotis shaak, khichdi kadi and other small eats are served. The star of the show of course, is the massive Gujarati thali that is served only in the night time. Vishalla translates to large and this platter certainly is an embodiment of the name. The meal begins with a fresh juice and buttermilk in earthen ware cups. This is followed by a tantalizing variety of appetizers that are served in Sal leaf donas (bowls) that include fresh vegetable salads, papads, exciting chutneys, jaggery, boiled gram and many such interesting elements.

Very cool place to visit to understand the culture of the people, so much history in it, loved the atmosphere, gives you the authentic village feeling, had some good dance, good food though it wasn’t so appealing to the eyes ….otherwise overall a good experience and definitely recommend! I received a very beautiful souvenir and that was such a beautiful gesture!

What a food spread, Right from bean sprouts, boiled groundnuts, green salad, traditional gujrati grated salad , fresh white butter, garlic & green chutney,jaggery..all as accompaniments.. Main food was 3 type of bread- bajri rotla, bhakhari& thepla. Aloo, gwar, bhindi vegetables, moong dal bada, piping hit kadhi.. I mean food was The works! Service is so so good, the way everyone asks you for more serving( it's unlimited thali) is so sweet & polite. Good is served on eco friendly partals & Brass bowls. Buttermilk, water is served in mitti kulhad. Loved loved the over all experience. A must visit place in Ahmedabad.

An Enchanting Gujarati Experience at Vishala, Ahmedabad I recently visited Vishala in Ahmedabad, and despite the evening setting, the overall experience left me with mixed feelings. The journey from the parking area to their reception was akin to a delightful stroll through a village, elevated by the luxury of a 5-star resort. The hospitality at Vishala was remarkable, with the staff being exceptionally polite and humble. The ambiance exuded a vintage charm, seamlessly blending with the heart of the city. What stood out most was the traditional Gujarati meal served on leaves, an unparalleled culinary delight I had never experienced before. The swiftness in serving ensured that the meals remained piping hot and incredibly delicious. The oral experience was essential, offering a glimpse into an authentic village meal that I hope every city can replicate, especially for the younger generation unfamiliar with such immersive encounters. I wholeheartedly recommend Vishala to anyone visiting Ahmedabad, whether during the day or night. Make sure to acknowledge the local artists who enrich the visit with puppet shows and assist in donning a pagdi. Moreover, the VVIP images at the reception and the opportunity to purchase a reasonably priced charkha, a perfect keepsake, added to the enriching memories of this visit. Vishala truly captivated me with its blend of culture, cuisine, and nostalgia.

Vishalla is a Gujarati restaurant with a difference: it stretches over a large outdoor area under the trees, with open hut-like pavilions, traditional craftspeople (a potter, for instance), some handicrafts shops, and performers such as musicians and puppeteers. You can get local Gujarati snacks all through the day (11 am onwards), and there are main meals, at a little over rupees 1100 per adult, just over 500 per child. We were here for dinner (7.30 pm onwards) and were seated on the floor at a low, long table. A huge array of salads, relishes and fresh cut vegetables - cucumber, tomato, onion, boiled peanuts, boiled soybeans, papad, fresh turmeric pickle, radish relish, green chutney, and more - was laid out on this, beside large 'platters' made of dry leaves. More food was served, including three types of rotis, dal, kadhi, various vegetables, khichri, sheera (halwa), jalebi, and dhokla. Repeated helpings of all the food were offered, as also of the chhaas (spiced buttermilk). Everything was delicious, and not extremely spicy or greasy either. We enjoyed this meal thoroughly.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vishalla, and it was truly a delightful experience. The restaurant's enchanting village theme created a warm and inviting atmosphere, making the dining experience unique and memorable. The extensive variety of authentic Gujarati food offered was a true culinary journey. From traditional favorites to flavorful regional specialties, each dish showcased the rich and diverse flavors of Gujarat. The attention to detail in presentation and taste truly reflected the restaurant's commitment to providing an authentic and enjoyable dining experience. The staff's hospitality added to the overall positive impression, making me feel welcome and well taken care of throughout my visit. If you're a fan of Gujarati cuisine or simply looking for a charming dining experience, I highly recommend Vishalla. It's a culinary gem that captures the essence of Gujarat's vibrant food culture.

This is a must if you are in Ahmedabad! Absolutely delicious Gujarati food with fantastic ambience. This is a famous restaurant and has welcomed many well-known faces (complete with pictures at the entrance). Take a stroll around to enjoy the area and see what other experiences they offer. I came with my group for lunch and we came back another night for entertainment, including a puppet show and live music, and an intricate dinner. Highly recommend!

I just love this place more than anything else. Staff is extremely courteous, and one beautiful experience I would like to share is we have a small breastfeeding Infant. A unique place in the crowded city. It feels like you are in the small village for dinner. It is huge widespread restaurant. They have traditional puppet show, folk dance, museum in the lawn areas. I would say it was an authentic Gujarati food served in the plate made of leaves. The service is quick and you will always have something to eat in your plate. Undhiyo was my favorite among all the items.

If you are visiting first time to Gujarat and want to taste the Gujarati food - this is the place. Huge place, amazing organic food and super ambience. You can eat sitting on floor traditional style or opt for dining table; you are served more than you and eat and the options and quantity are HUGE. There is also an art gallery and exhibition place where you can see the old style vessels and cutleries and lot more. Don’t miss this if you are in Ahmedabad The unlimited thali is around 1150 INR and it is worth it. Go for it.

Vishala: The atmosphere there resembles that of a small village. The entrance (can be seen in the photo) is dimly lit by lanterns as well as the whole restaurant. The staff there is very friendly and helpful. They directed us towards a dance show that happens there every night and then towards our table. Even in dining there are options to sit at a table or sit down just like the traditional way. Coming to the food, it was good. But I felt like it was not extraordinary or as per the price. Feels like the price is more for the atmosphere and not the food. I went there with high expectations and the atmosphere handled half of that, but the second half (for the food) was not fulfilled completely.

Vishala is a village themed restaurant. It is just like a mini village which comprises of a cow shed, hens, charpai seating area and the staff in traditional outfits. The water is served in kullad. The staff is very polite and would serve you with a smile. We went there for lunch but to our disappointment their famous wide spread thali was available only for Dinner and instead we settled for a set meal thali. The taste was still very good. It comprised of Aalo gravy, Turi ki sabji, Dal, Muthiya, Puri, Paratha, Jalebi, Salad, Rice, Chaas and IceCream The mosquitoes were a bit annoying for which the restaurant should take some measures Overall a good and unique experience

This restaurant is Ahmedabad's heritage. Years in service, started with a mere small space and today it's a luxury in itself. This has to be in a to do list of every traveller visiting Ahmedabad. Authentic Gujarati food and no tempering the Gujarati taste and way away from adding non Gujarati items to the menu like most of the places. The restaurant is enormous and is a great place for all age groups. Lot of things for the children to roam around and play around. Offers seating spaces for on the floor as well as tables. Choice is yours. Puppet show, traditional dance shows are other attractions of the restaurant. Ample amount of space for parking your vehicles and extreme rush over weekends.

I am thankful to my colleague for throwing a party at Vishalla. It is village theme based restaurant with puppet show and folk dance organised for the guests. Ambience is so beautiful and atmosphere in here is soothing and relaxed. It is one of the best place in Ahmedabad for authentic Gujarati food. All the dishes are delectable and worth every penny. Staff is super active and courteous. Vishalla becomes all the more alluring in the night with lanterns. A must visit place with family and friends for a lovely dining experience.

There are two options in food one is unlimited food and second one is fixed thali. It is gujarati authenticated food. Must go in winter for dinner. Compare with lunch more and better options available in dinner. There are many other activities which feel you are at village. There are world's first tamba and pittal oldest vasan. All over it is nice place and good food quality but it is quite expensive.

It's a must visit place. The service, hospitality and the food were awesome. Apart from this I really loved the feel of it. This place gives you the glimpse of Rajasthani folk culture. The entrance was very nice. You are welcomed with flowers and moving forward you listen the melodious sound of flute and other instruments. No dazzling lights just the lanterns light up the whole area, which is amazing. This place truly gives you peace and comfort. There are other various attractions here. All I can say is that don't miss to visit this place if you go to Ahmedabad. ♥️♥️

It is a very old Gujarati restaurant, Instead of a restaurant, it can be called a concept restaurant. It is like a village of Gujarat. It has a rural atmosphere and is fully enlivened. The museum is also very beautiful and overall enjoyable restaurant. Must visit

Vishalla restaurant is the oldest and finest restaurant in ahmedabad The look of restaurant is based on village and believe me it’s beautiful Best location for small 100-150 people’s functions Well maintained and best in design They have 2 options table and chairs and pangat (traditional Indian style) is also available They serve food on real leaf I take unlimited lunch and I was good but not upto the mark They should improve the taste and add some more items If you charge 800-100 per head then some more items should add on, I’ll find service is also slow and not up to the mark I have ask for 2-3 time for only one item then they provide you that Pls improve kind of taste and service. Visit once if you want to try Gujarati food in very authentic way. They have their own car parking space And this restaurant placed on main road so you can easily find it.

'Vishalla', a traditionally designed pure vegetarian restaurant. ingredient at Vishalla is sourced directly from the farmers. The food is served in a leaf plate, making the plates biodegradable, disposable, hygienic and convenient to use. They also lend a rustic and authentic touch to the food. very important aspect of Vishalla’s food heritage is that it adheres to some very ancient techniques of cooking, serving and eating food. philosophy followed at Vishalla is very simple – everything is made each day, with the help of seasonal vegetables and utmost attention to cleanliness. IT is located at VISHALA Circle, Ahmedabad. 5 minutes ride from Vasna Bus Stand.

It's a good place for experiencing Gujarati cuisine. The utensil museum in their campus is also worth visiting. However, during holidays or festivals, it's better to reach there early as they do not take reservations. And in case of crowding, there can be a long wait time or complete unavailability of the table.

Very Disappointed !!! "Jitana Bada Naam Utana Chhota Kaam" , It's better to eat in dhaba than Vishala, they are charging extra for unlimited thali with 1000 bucks, when I ordered handva than it was extra chargable . They don't even have heavy sweet, & anything was not special everything is ordinary. Even their museum is also have extra charge. & On entertainment part, puppet show & folk dance only, which is not as compared to the Name of Restaurant it's also ordinary. Totally Waste of Money.

I have visited more than once, but from last visit feel that it requires more professional approach in services. Items are served with a view to save cost. Costly items are not served frequently. Also better if about 15-20% light is increased. If want to keep name have to work professionally.

If any non Gujjus visiting amdavad and want to experience the true Gujarati cuisine than Vishala is a must visit. Very nice place. Clean and well kept. Food is good too. Though served so fast that you don't really get a chance to sit and savor it. I felt rushed. Welcoming customers need to be looked into , also order taking.

Visited vishala on 5th December 2020. Very limited options for food are made available. Overall restaurant space is less. Food is quite expensive. not that great place to spend a weekend dinner or lunch.

The place was good, but lacked enthusiasm. The food was nice, but the ambience I experienced wasn't at par the way I experienced Chokhi Dhani. Still it was quite close to the the Gujarati lifestyle, so you can give it a try.

Quiet ambience. Original Gujarati food and atmosphere. Outdoor but covered seating. Need to spend some time here. Two options - either have full thali or just some snacks. Relatively expensive. Parking outside. Beware going during rains - tends to get muddy in the parking area.

Went there in July 2019. Its a beautiful place for authentic Gujrati food with hospitality at its Best 👌 The ambiance is very peaceful and the place had some good positive vibes. Its a must visit place, a great place for family outing to experience the real Gujarati culture and cuisine. A lot of options for your foodie self. The whole village feel is really good. Do visit this place you will love to go again.

Vishalla was a great experience for historical collection to be experienced. Also the food is traditionally served. Though museum is closed due to pandemic. But if you are lucky you can experience the awesome collection in future.

Really Heritage Place You Can Spend 1 OR 2 hours easily before lunch or dinner. Seating arrangements and cleanses of property was very good. On daily basis they clean and setup a big property..✅✅ Food was superb, Real Gujarati Taste.. After I done with dinner i came to know they didn't used garlic and onion in any food. Due to covid they are serving less items and cut down quantity of items like 3 sabji insted of 6 and farsan... ✔️ Before covid they charge around 1200 per person. Now around 650 any day any time same rate...💵💵 Must visit worth place to go with family..✅✅✔️✔️👍🏻

It is considered to be an iconic brand of Ahmedabad for having long history. They offer typical gujarati cuisines. The environment is lite by candle so you can't expect much light. Food was okaish. It is not worth the money which they charge. They have puppet show and live artist for entertainment.

  • 1/5 Pragzi 2 years ago on Google
The place is good but there is very low amount of light which results to headache..... Even they have not highlighted the entrance of the restaurant. Charges are too high Rs.800/- per pax and food was not worth to what we are paying..... Please think twice before visiting.

It's one of the places that has not lost its charm or food quality over years. It's a perfect place to enjoy traditional guju village meals It has a It's own character in day time and a rustic feeling In night. Parking is available for cars This place is perfect to host your friends from other parts of India and world Kids can enjoy the puppet show and elders can enjoy the Rajasthani folk dance and music.. the traditional sitting arrangements, jhula, the bird watching " machaan" makes it a perfect theme dinner Bit expensive at 1000 per pax but remember kids below 10 are free... so invite more kids and have fun :) PS Museums are closed on Mondays..it is something one should not miss

One of the oldest restaurant of Ahmedabad. This restaurant is Ahmedabad's heritage. This restaurant has to be in a must visit place for every traveller visiting Ahmedabad. The restaurant is amazing and is a great place for all age groups. Lot of things for the children to roam around and play around. Also there is a Utensil Museum, whic is one of a kind with largest collection of precious utensils. Restaurant offers seating spaces on the floor as well as on tables. Puppet show, traditional music are other attractions of the restaurant. Ample amount of space for parking your vehicles. Highly recommended!

Well, I saw some random videos on YouTube to explore Ahmedabad. Since their speciality is in thal I thought of visiting vishalla. No doubt it’s a huge place to walk around, one can clearly hear the sounds of the birds, they also have their own pets like cows, buffaloes, ducks etc. Good thing was they have a wide collections of varieties of utensils, storage boxes, knifes, water bottles and more which was used by the then people ( too too old) which is good for getting knowledge for any age group. Place was clean. They also sell varieties in achaar. They make live earthen pots and also anyone can make and buy from them for a reasonable price.I also wanted to try the thal but unfortunately didn’t because I was quoted Rs1000 for 1 person which was way too much as compared to my other thals in Ahmedabad. On a average the prices that I experienced of very very good thals were around max of Rs 420 but Rs 1000 was too much. They should consider reasonable price so that people can also enjoy their Thal when they visit Vishalla along with the experience with the nature.

Awesome place to visit, nice ambience great welcome. In one word a pure desi look. Especially when you get greeted with a red rose on the entrance makes you feel so good and that too desi rose. A very calm place. Lots of local entertainment by the staff. Soft folk music adds more stars.

A village themed restaurant with Good no-Onion no-Garlic yet tasty food - lthough they do serve Onion slices for those who need. Prices: ++ The prices might feel higher considering 1000+ INR per person for dinner. Food: The spread is amazingly large though and also the hospitality is nice to be at. ++ You are welcomed with a cool drink (Aam Panna/Lemonade), then the food is provided in dining arena. ++ A wide range of salads are given like sliced beetroot, sliced cucumber, sliced tomatoes, sliced onions (?), raw papaya salad, jaggery pieces, garlic chutney, boiled groundnuts, boiled peanuts, sprouts, lemon dices, salt, pepper and chaat masaala. ++ The dinner spread includes 4 Indian Gujarati/Rajasthai sabzi, a sweet, Farsaan (like Pakoda/Dhokla), Papad, Kadhi, Khichdi, White butter, different kinds of Gujarati Indian flatbreads (Puri, thepla, Bhakhri, Rotla etc) and Buttermilk. ++ The food is obviously unlimited but we hardly can order twice as it's super filling. Suggestion: ++ They should consider re-mapping their location on Google as when we have went with Ola cab, the location shows a place at 5 mins distance while driving.

One of the best restaurants to have Gujarati traditional food. Start with welcome drink which is lemon mint mojito and its super refreshing you can enjoy with traditional dance. Dinner is awesome and so many varieties to taste the way they serve the food is like they serving their family member so nice behaviour. And end dinner with some ice creams, dates and pan. I really enjoyed.

The environment was good, so was the Rajasthan dance Seating arrangements goid But food was very bad. Bajra roti were thick and cold. I do not understand why they cannot serve hot and soft Roti's when we are paying a premium price. Food in Rajwadu is far better. Vishal us deteriorating.
