Before my psychiatristā€™s office became a part of LifeStance, everything was great. Now, when I donā€™t have the option to go in the office and am trying to get something done on the phone, itā€™s a disaster. The workers are nice and trying to do their job, but the system is terrible. I was transferred to four different people who all couldnā€™t help me. LifeStance is probably a company that doesnā€™t care about providing quality care, just making money. Iā€™m thankful for my psychiatrist and all of the workers that tried to help me, but this is a classic example of a huge company that only cares about huge profits. Go somewhere else, locally owned and operated.

Provider was good and listened to me, receptionist was condescending and rude. She called to schedule my next appointment and get payment. Having met my deductible and out of pocket max for the year, I asked why was I being charged? Her verbatim response started ā€˜if you understood insurance, youā€™d knowā€¦ā€™ thereā€™s no need for condescension. Also, asking a clarifying question should not elicit that type of response. Advice for receptionist- next time someone asks a question, simply reply with facts, not condescension.

By far the worst experience iā€™ve ever had with a mental health professional as well as front office staff. I went to athens lifestance office approx 6 times and each time i was greeted with the rudest front office staff who donā€™t even look you in the eye when talking to you. Then, I had the pleasure of having a psychiatrist answer a personal call and mute me during my medication follow up zoom call. When I had my initial consult with her in person, she had me confused with another patient and had been typing in the wrong file for half of the appointment and said ā€œwait whatā€™s your name?ā€ after 30 minutes of me sharing my mental health history. I could not discourage someone enough, especially people just starting to get help, from going here. The therapist I tried here was nice but would end the session after 20-30 minutes and never really gave me any solutions or things to work on. Overall a horrible experience do not recommend.

Very disappointed. Based on my experience, I feel they do not care about their patients at all. I was telehealth throughout covid. One of my problems was my inability to focus and function. There was a nationwide shortage of my medicine and was not able to get my medicine for months. I called and let them know and asked for help with no solution given. Then my first in-person appointment came up and I accidentally used the telehealth as I always had. They never called me and I couldn't get through to let them know my mistake. I did get a bill for missing the appointment. There was no reason why my provider couldn't connect with me via telehealth had I been able to get through to someone. I've been understanding every single appointment that my provider was late to, but I was not afforded any grace or understanding given my situation. This gave me the clear message that I do not matter to them, and all that matters to them is collecting money. I hope the $100 fee is worth losing a long term patient. I don't know how they can be in accordance to the Hippocratic oath, taking advantage of people with mental illness left struggling without medication needed to function. Zero care that I was struggling, they added insult to injury by making sure that bill got to me. I still have not gotten any communication regarding my wellbeing as a patient. Awful treatment.

I had an initial appointment months ago virtually that I missed due to a violent illness, likely a stomach bug or food poisoning. Not once did anyone call to see if I needed support rescheduling or to inquire about why I missed. I work in healthcare, when people miss appointments you call to make sure they're ok. But they've had no problem harassing me for a $100 missed appointment fee. Good luck with that. They are too large for their own good. It took me 30 minutes just to schedule the initial appointment. It is too difficult to get to a real person who actually cares. I can't even find access to a real person to explain why they're not getting this $100 from me. You don't care about people. You care about capitalizing on others.

Dr. Fleming is great. He is easy to talk to, will really work with you, and is open to non-traditional therapies. It can be hard to schedule appointments (due to the office being closed on Friday and Dr. Fleming's odd out-of-office days), although that's gotten easier now that they're doing TeleHealth. I wish they'd go back to in person appointments, though. The front office staff are wonderful and kind, and they will schedule you right away in a crisis.

I had a meeting with Dr. Fleming and because of the bus timing I arrived early. The receptionist and staff were wonderful while I waited in the lobby with my temporary caregiver. They treated her well while I was in session and I really appreciated it I highly recommend them. Dr. Fleming is through and polite. We went over a lot of my issues and he was patient and understanding and gave me great ideas for self-care in treating my illnesses

I've been a patient of Dr Fleming for a bit over a year now, and couldn't recommend this practice more. The front desk staff, scheduling, and doctors have all been kind, thorough, and efficient. Dr Fleming takes time to listen to my concerns and takes my input and psychiatric management preferences into consideration (which is a rarity sometimes in other practices), tailoring a care plan that works for me as an individual. Appointments are prompt, precautions have been taken for everyone's safety during the pandemic, while still feeling personal as well. I've also done the Genesight testing here which was been helpful. I'm very happy with this practice and recommend them often to peers.

I would never recommend this office to anyone looking to receive therapy in Athens. The way this clinic is ran is so inefficient. The therapy is fine, but the office experience makes it not worth it. They are incapable of resolving issues that come up. I have had a problem with billing for a service in January that I have been trying to resolve since March. Calling the office is no use because I have been calling since March, giving my insurance information every single time, and I am still being billed. There is also no way to contact your therapist. If you need to speak to them, you just need to make an appointment for a session. Despite resources in Athens being limited, I would still not recommend this clinic. Look for therapy anywhere else.

Legitimately the second worst Psychiatric care Iā€™ve ever received. I donā€™t see the point in noting medications when the psychiatrist tries to prescribe all 5 of the 5 that I was able to list that I had tried and had bad reactions to. I swear to god, my first appointment was canceled because they refused to see me without a referral, the second doctor screamed at me for an hour and argued with me over my psychiatric care as a former pharm student, trying to prescribe antihistamines for anxiety. When he finally budged, he said ā€œit looks like you have no treatment optionsā€ and prescribed me a sub-threshold dosage of a medication that does nothing to resolve panic, and is dismissive of your issues. This company would rather take your money 30 times to not fix whatā€™s wrong with you and scam your insurance rather than potentially figure out what may be wrong with the patient, listen to their concerns, and the concerns of other physicians before them. Thanks for nothing, Iā€™ll be taking my copays and insurance elsewhere, as I now trust absolutely none of the doctors at Lifestance. Doesnā€™t it seem hilarious when these huge companies buy out local providers? Almost seems like itā€™s a business, and all they want is your money.

Would not recommend this place. I am a low income college student who scheduled an appointment with a psychiatric nurse practitioner. My dad passed away almost 2 years ago and he was our only income in our household. A few days after I scheduled my appointment, life stance called me and asked for my credit card infoā€¦. I told them before I give my information I would like to know how much my session was going to be. They told me that my session would be $455 (just for ONE session- initial pay to see a psychiatric nurse practitioner- my insurance does not cover these sessions). I told them that I am a college student & low income- I asked if there was anyway they could provide me financial help/discount for these sessions. The life stance lady I was on the phone with (I didnā€™t catch her name) told me they provide ā€œNO financial plansā€ and that she recommends that I get financial help from someone. I have no one to get financial help from. I find it absolutely ridiculous that this is a mental health facility and that they are putting money before helping people. Do not go here. They donā€™t have their priorities straight.

BEWARE- of Unacceptable Billing Practices. Google Lifestance Complaints- please read them before using this provider. The Vsee app doesnā€™t always connect and they will bill you $100 as a no show while you login before the appt and then wait and not receive the counseling service. This is a nationwide public company ticker symbol LFST and the stock price is below $5 they are taking peoples money without any empathy. The research analysis indicates ā€˜high doctor turnover rates from burnoutā€™ , ā€˜costs are rising due to expenses required to replace them.ā€™ Please google search Lifestance customer complaints. You will be thankful to avoid this place.

Been a patient for 4-5 years now. I love my psych but I can never seem to get this place on the phone. I wait on line for 30 mins or more and never receive a call back. I been trying to contact the office all week regarding a medication PA. The only way to get through to this office is by patient portal very poor patient service.

They are liars. Told me I can't pay out of pocket because I have Medicaid. They had me as a patient for 7 years and literally told me one month in advance that I had time to find a doctor that day that I came in only wrote me one month prescription and left me hanging with something that could make me terribly sick and force me into the hospital. Also they did not give me any referrals or try to help me set up an appointment with a different office they only want you if have a rich insurance company and also don't want to talk to you if you are associated with Medicaid even to pay out of pocket.they will also take forever to get your refills they will leave you hanging for at least three to five days of nothing and you will get sick and be lied to that the prescription was sent in. Dr Tommie Richardson is the only caring person in that office. Period. See him only

Love our therapist here, let me say that first. But everything financially has been horrible through lifestance. On two separate occasions, they QUADRUPLE billed us. So like $320 for one visit - that happened twice!! And each time we called both our bank and lifestance; lifestance told us it was a problem with their new billing system or something. They said they could do nothing. We waited almost a week each time for our money to be returned to us!! They were not remorseful, and they did not care we were having that problem. Now, months after our first visit, they are telling us we have a balance of nearly ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS!! So we are having to fill out forms and call our insurance to pay them. They never told us we were accruing any balance, and the few times we got a bill in the mail they told us the bills were incorrect and not to worry about the high amounts!! Go somewhere else, this place wants to charge you $400/hr.

I love my experience with lifestance. Everyone I talked to were patient and understanding. The person I spoke with when I called was extremely helpful and the therapist I spoke with was very knowledgeable and explained everything to me.

Outstanding care from Dr. Cynthia Edins!! Sheā€™s absolutely wonderful. Also wanted to give Jasmine in the office a fabulous review. She really went above and beyond to help me and her customer service is top notch!! Highly recommend!!!!

Excellent first meeting with the therapist. She gave me allot of ideas for breathing activities, awareness and meditation. I look forward to speaking with her again. I am so happy that it is telehealth and so convenient.

Mostly a great experience, but most recently, an appointment was scheduled for me without my consent. I was notified on a Sunday (when they are not open) that I had an appointment within the next 48 hours, and if I cancelled, I would be charged a $100 late cancellation fee. Unfortunately, the link did not allow me to cancel online & I had no choice in the matter of scheduling since they created the appointment on my behalf. I kept most stars simply because I have seen some great providers who have understood and addressed many of my concerns and/or problems, and this is the first time that I have experienced any problematic scenario within the last 2 years.

I've been a patient for years here and, unfortunately will no longer be recommending this practice to potential new patients. I understand we live in a time where healthcare workers are overworked and understaffed, but my recent care has been subpar at best. My providers consistently showed up to our telehealth sessions more than 20 minutes late (for a 20-minute appointment slot), and then we had 3-7 minute calls where I was given very little personalized attention or care. Usually, it went, "So, is everything going good with the meds you're on?" and unless I specifically asked for something to be changed, I got my refills and was dismissed. I did not feel like a priority and that I was just another patient they had to check off their list. Also, their publicly posted insurance providers list is incorrect, and I was not aware of this, so what should have been a $10 appointment was charged as self-pay at $255. If it was more than a 3-minute video call, I might consider it to be worth $255, but it simply was not. I've been very disappointed with how things have changed since 2020 and can no longer say I recommend Lifestance for long-term psychiatric care.

Myself, my current psychiatrist and the nurse from the previous psychiatry office have been attempting to get an answer from these people by phone, email and on here as to whether or not they offer Spravato. We've been trying to get an answer since APRIL OF 2021! I actually nearly succeeded in a suicide attempt in October of last year. These offices say they care but they don't even acknowledge you exist. Luckily, my recent trauma therapist found another place in Athens that just opened up that offers straight Ketamine infusions. We're saving up for treatment.

Three therapy offered is very good and the prices reasonable. The system they use for telehealth (VSee) is a bit buggy, though, and often won't register that I'm in the waiting room. Otherwise, great service!

Lisa Reynolds and I have only had two sessions so far, but she had made a very positive impression on me. She listens closely, allows me to feel safe discussing difficult issues, and projects an air of genuine caring. I look forward to establishing a beneficial and lasting therapeutic relationship with her.
