Sharajah Fort is one of Sharjah's historical places to visit with family. Currently, the entry is free for all, till june as i know from the security. RTA parking is available on the outside as all-day parking, including holidays. Entry is located where the cannons are placed, and some sort of fancy items can be purchased from the office. There is lot's of rooms with different items that are placed to visit. Open area is placed for watching the shows and photos, and custom arabic costumes for men and women are available there to take photos. 1st floor has some more rooms to visit taking photos. All the rooms are air conditined.

A must visit place in Sharjah. The fort was constructed by the Ruler of Sharjah Sheikh Sultan bin Saqr Al Qasimi in 1823. The fort stands in the Heart of Sharjah originally known as Bank Street. It was partially destroyed by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed Al Qasimi who ordered the demolition of the fort in 1970. Khalid’s brother Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi convinced his brother not to destroy the fort. By the time he arrived from Cairo most of the fort had been demolished and all that remained was a single tower. Work began to restore the Fort in January 1996 using the doors that were saved in the demolition. Restoration was completed in 1997. It has further been renovated in 2013/2014. The Sharjah fort is now opened to the public to learn about the historic landmark and the ruling family.

Our experience today was amazing! Special thanks to Mr. Abdurahman, Ms. Mona and all the Hisn team. The programme was designed wonderful for the kids "maze" tour where we visited different galleries. A fort passport to be stamped, a wordsearch to reveal a secret word, a quiz and prize spinner and finally painting a model of Al Hisn. Thank you so much for hosting us 13 kids today.

It is a must place to visit in the Sharjah. I really enjoyed it. You can see the rich history and old lifestyle in the Fort. The Fort is surrounded by tall buildings, which can be considered to remove them in the long-term plan to give the better and more genuine look to the Fort.

We can see a lot of information about civilization of past that how they lived in UAE. An historical fort turned into Museum and very well maintaining too. Feeling very anxious after watching all the stuff stored including weapons, wall fixtures about old maps and city construction and much more. Thanks to Sharjah Museum for sharing a lot of information to us.

Over here in Sharjah AL Hisn Fort Museum we can explore the historic landmark to learn about the modern history of Sharjah, the ruling family, the history of the fort, the historic defence strategies and Sharjah’s day-to-day life 196 years ago. As you explore the rooms of the fort, you will come across a wide collection of photographs and archaeological artifacts.

Must visit museum if you want to know the history of Sharjah. Al Hisn is the heart of the area where justice and tolerance took place with vision and wisdom. Nearby parking available and cafes around the area. A walking distance from the souq and rest of Sharjah Museums (Art and Islamic museums from one side, and Bait Al Nanoodah, Heritage, and Calligraphy museums from the other side) ask for shared tickets access and offers at the reception. Senior citizens access for free but must show their ID (above 60).

An excellent place to visit with family n kids. Small place but rich in history. Well maintained. Courteous n kind staff. Nominal ticket price. Ample paid parking available. We are residents of fujairah. This fort was much much better than fujairah fort. The only obstacle we found was lack of elevator (we had a one year old in stroller). A must see place.

Nice place to go with family, kids, or friend. There are a lot of things inside the building. It will show and give us information about the history of the place. There are some rooms, miniatures, weapons, pictures, etc. Also we can go to the tower to see the city from the top. The place is well order, clean, and big too. The staff are so kind too. Better take the package ticket for 5 museums. So after from here, we can go to another museums around this fort.

I visited this museum recently in 2015 and it's one of the most beautiful museums I've ever visited in my life !! it tells the story of early Sharjah and it takes you back to 1942 and makes you live that era as if it's for real !! the facilities are excellent and their guides and staff are so kind and helpful !! I'm going to visit it again with my family soon !! Probably one of the best museums in the area. Lot of information, lot of objects, lot of hi-tech illustrations and good lighting. If you want to become knowledgeable about the area of Sharjah and its history, you'll enter basically a history book. As a history buff, you will enjoy it. A small fort converted into a museum, located just opposite to the Rolla Square park. Walking distance from the old city of Sharjah. The front of the museum is a good place for photographs with the wide open area and the iron cannons up front. Limited exhibits inside though. Located just at the corner of the old Sharjah town near the heart of Sharjah.

The fort has been virtually fully rebuilt and looks brand new in most parts, in each of the rooms within the fort, a brief history is shown with artifacts and exhibits to compliment the information displayed. The outside of this historic monument still looks like the traditional fort from centuries ago, but it's lost its old world feel on the inside. Entrance fee of 10 Dirhams is ok, and there's plenty of paid parking around but it was a tad disappointing from my perspective.

Another historical gem in Sharjah that everyone should visit if they want to learn more about the emirate and its rulers. They put a lot of work, effort and thought into designing the overall space. Admission tickets are very affordable, and from here, you can also access several other nearby museums. It is a good choice if you have friends visiting from abroad and you want to show them a slice of Sharjah history.

A nice little fort that has been reconstructed and different sections have been set up to depict different aspects of the lifestyle and usage of the fort by its occupants during various periods of time. The figure of a prisoner in the very first section is amazingly human-like.

Nice place to visit, but don’t expect to spend long time inside, as it is a little bit small, but rich in culture
