One of the most beautifully organized museums packed with great information and collections of Arabic tools, inventions, art and writings that document progress and spread of Islamic culture. It was amazing to know of the advancements in medical practices, navigation, cartography, defense, perfumery, trade, to name but a few. A must visit place in Sharjah.

Well that was a delightful discovery!! I remember this place from around 20+ years ago when it opened as a souk actually. Today I found out that it became a museum of Islamic Civilization. It's very well done. I love the segmentation of galleries by topics and the richness of artifacts and exhibits. And it's so peaceful ans serene. You will definitely discover things you never knew. I guarantee that! And for as little as aed10 per person! Go ahead!

It was a good experience to visit this place. They show us not only what was sharjah but also what is the sharjah now. It's a clear trip organized by Indian Excellent School Sharjah. It helps students to understand the history with proof of history. They maintain this place very clear and neat. Staffs behavior is also respectful. It's great ful to see the Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization Loved it 🥰

The building is beautiful inside and out. The marina across the street is beautiful. I didn't get a chance to see the whole museum, but what I saw was beautiful. I enjoyed the attention to braille.

I gotta say one of the best museum here in UAE. So much things to see. All the securities and even the front desk are very helpful in guiding us from the parking to how we going to explore the museum. We visited here and we knew that we have to pay 10aed each but to our surprised the entrance fee is free of charge because of Ramadan. So i highly recommend this place if you going to Sharjah. I assure you that you will buy regret it. Highly recommended 👍

I like this place. To start with there are park lots outside with parkmeters. The entrance is only for 10 AED. The museum is very well organised with different sections for history medicine engineering and others. The place is big and you might feel bored or tired after some time as it takes hours to finish. Something really special is missing, like a belonging to the Prophet (pbuh) or sahabah or other prophets.. There is a cafeteria, prayer area, and even a breastfeeding room. Recommended.

Went there on a Friday. The Museum closes at 8 pm and we went around 7.20 pm only. So did not get much time to explore more and rushed to cover all the areas but could not. It has 2 floors and 4 galleries in total. We were able to cover only 3 of them. As we went very late, there were no one inside the museum and only we both (me and my kid) were roaming around. There is an entry ticket and it is 7 AED for adults and 5 for kids. They follow the Covid safety rules thoroughly. They checked for the temperature and gave sanitizer when you enter. Even the plastic gloves were provided by them when entering. There were stickers placed on the floors ensuring social distancing and sign boards saying not to touch anything. Overall, it is worth to visit this museum at least once to know about Islamic heritage, but ensure you have enough time to explore stuffs, as we may need at least 2 hrs completely to visit all the 4 galleries.

There is a lot of learning in 10 dhs for adults and 5 dhs for children. History and science can be difficult for children who are too young. My child in elementary school enjoyed being able to do a free workshop. I have good memories.

A MUST! This museum is located accross the sea. 20-30 minutes by bus from Union Terminal, Dubai. Entrance fee is only AED 10. Find about museum in the official website. Our first visit was in 2015. After six years we came back again also in December. Found many positive improvement including new buildings/inventions/tools models until flat LED with the Islamic stories time to time. One of the right places to go to have new perspective about Islam. Started with explanation about Islam including the Holy Quran in Abu Bakr Gallery of Islamic Faith until huge contribution of Islamic scholars in science and technology. Love the museum, love Sharjah the city!

I definitely recommend visiting. Huge exhibition, themed rooms. There are many unique exhibits, including a five hundred carat ruby and a gold coin weighing more than two kilograms. There is a large exhibition of weapons, sometimes quite unusual ones, some of which we couldn’t even understand why they were forged. Don't miss the hall dedicated to scientific achievements, there is a lot of interesting stuff there.

Museums are always worth to visit... This one is awesome... depicts Islamic civilisation in detail... it shows the evolution of Islamic architecture, science and technology. Much details on Islamic faith is depicted in Abu Bakr Gallery. I spent most of the time in this section reading and understanding Islam. The Science and Technology Gallery is also very informative showing the evolution and development of Islamic Architecture, Astronomy, Time Studies, Geometry, Geography, Nautical Science, Optics, Medicine, Chemistry, Military Technology... the museum also have a section of Islamic coinage. There is a cafe and a gift shop. Toilet facilities are very clean. Ample parking is available for visitors. A must visit place for all residents and visitors especially students... I spent almost 4 hours inside the museum...

Well structured and organized museum that focus on Islamic civilization and its influence in science and technology, culture, art, and much more. Tickets were very reasonable considering you could easily spend half a day here. The inside is beautiful, clean, maintained well. Our favorite was the science and technology wing, especially the exhibits on astronomy. It would have been great to have some more interactive elements throughout like videos. I wanted more in depth information on the exhibits. All the exhibits make the assumption that the visitor is starting from scratch with islamic history. Would have been great to have exhibits that gave more in depth information on what was being showed. Bathrooms are very clean, which is a theme throughout the museum. They were taking many covid precautions to make sure that things were done safely. We were given a pair of gloves to wear during our time in the galleries. Some of the refreshment areas were closed because of covid. They had security staff who took our temperature when we came in. Would have been nice to know if they offer guides. Would have also been nice to know which pieces were original and which were replicas.

There is even a coffee shop & clean restrooms inside. Educational & interesting . Nice parking for everyone. definite place to you will want to see if you wish to understand a bit more about Islam. The museum takes you through a timeline which was quite fascinating. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Very quiet and well built, but a lot of room for improvement. WiFi wasn't working so my blind wife wasn't able to enjoy/listen to the audio. Lift also wasn't working. Some artifacts were amazing. The history information in a timeline screen is awesome! There could be more artifacts, and details. Many periods were missing.

This museum is built to introduce visitors about Islamic civilisation and culture spanning a period of centuries in a visualised way. It’s great to see that it has a very rich content though not enough and not covering all over muslim world. But one can get a glimpse of a great past and contribution of islamic world in advancement of the knowledge, medicine and scientific research. Recommended for interested people in islamic history and culture. 2-3 hours tour for in depth observation Ticket is 10 AED Opened till 8 pm or 8:30 pm

What I like about going to museums is on how people from the past creates something with all their heart and soul in it. You can see the beauty of their art and culture in their pieces and they're making sure those are durable (so durable it can even last a lifetime). Entrance here is just AED10 and yet you can see more than what you paid for. This is great for people who are into art, history and culture.

The Sharjah Museum of Islamic Civilization is one of 16 museums in Sharjah... This building with it's uniques dome and Islamic architectural design was not designed to be a museum. It was a small old market/Souq. However, it was re-opened as a museum in 2008. I always remember the old souq with it's tiny shops, Old Memories ? It will cost you around 3 USD to reveal tons of interesting facts about more than 5000 objects and instruments representing the Islamic footprints in the history of human civilization The museum has 7 sections including 6 galleries and The Dome highlighting 1000 Years of Islamic Innovations and contributions in different fields such as Science, technology, architecture, medical, calligraphy and lifestyle starting from the birth of Prophet Mohammed (Peace be upon him) until the 19th century There are 2 galleries in first floor. the first one highlights Briefing about Islam, the Fastest Growing Religion and the pillars of Islam Faith in different areas such as worshipping, charity, relations and educations. Old calligraphy for the holy Book "Quran" is found in this section highlighting different verses of with description. The second hall displays the most important achievements and contribution of Muslim Scientists and Thinkers in different fields such as Math, Space Science, medical Science, philosophy and other areas The second floor has 4 halls which highlight the effects of cultural and innovation exchange between Islamic Civilization and other Civilizations all over the world in different fields The last section of the museum is This stunning Mosaic Dome which illustrate the Star Constellations Zodiac ?? The museum has also a library, a cafe and a gift shop. You may also some luctures and workshops arranged if you are intersted.

Great Calligraphy (Arabic) Museum and Surrounding Awesome in Heritage Area The Museum itself is small but contains a lot of information about Arabic Calligraphy. The tools and the method used for Calligraphy were also on display. There are also free workshops every week on Arabic Calligraphy so if it interests you you could check with the Museum Authorities and plan your trip accordingly. There is also a book on the Arabic Calligraphy which is on display and the title is currently available for Free. Overall a good place to visit for Calligraphy lover and the surrounding is a heritage area and the place and sight is awesome and a must visit if you are in Sharjah. It is very close to the Shopping area / Rolla Park.

Very good collection of artifacts and information. Its not just about religion but also about science, astronomy, artistry, architecture, craftsmanship and valour. Well setup and managed. Excellent staff at the information desk. Must do for those interested in islamic history and culture. Ample parking. Post museum visit you can go across the road and have a snack or drink at cafeteria or go on a bot ride or just walk and take in the views.

This museum was a great discovery as it is about science, civilization development and discoveries in the Arab world from the old days. A lot of interesting displays especially on sea navigation tools and astronomy. The museum has a small coffee shop and a souvenir shop that complete the visit. Ticket prices are very reasonable. A good trip for families with kids above 6 years old who are interested in science.

It is the first Sharjah Islamic museum that displays an array of artefacts representing the works of different Islamic scholars from various fields. Opened in 1996 in the Heritage Area. The museum exhibits more than five thousand Islamic artefacts that represent the history of Islam. Each of them is displayed in seven thematic galleries. The museum exhibits a diverse selection of coins from the early Islamic period. Ummayads, Abbasid dinars and dirhams – all are on display here at the atrium outside the Al Majarrah Gallery. The Entry for Adult ... 10 DHS only.

My favorite museum in Sharjah. It is nice to visit with kids, family, or friends. Actually there are a lot of things that we can find here, more than just the calligraphy. So there are some different rooms around this area. There is a room just for the calligraphy, another room for painting, another room for clasical vinyl disc, another room for VR and sound attraction, another room for statue, another room for international art. And im so surprised that i can find my country culture in here. Yes there are some things that show about Indonesia in here, it makes me so happy. The place is clean, and all staff are so kind. I really really love this museum

Very interesting museum at the Sharjah waterfront. The models of the mosques in Mecca, Medina and Jerusalem were very interesting. However, I'm not sure it's worth the long trip from Dubai.

An exceptional building when it comes to Islam, civilization and how far innovation has come along. What truly fills you with pride when admiring these pieces are the attention to detail, the lengthy explanations to provide great detail to such magnificent eras.

Words cannot justify how beautiful and well maintained this place is. It’s a well preserved treasure of Islamic civilization and modern science/medicine. Tickets cost at 10 AED for adults with free wifi. You need minimum 3 hours to see the entire museum and more if you’re a person who enjoys details. This place will not disappoint you. It has collections of Kiswa from the Kaaba and many inscriptions of the Holy Quran as well. The Ibn al Haytham gallery is such a treat for the eyes and mind, it’s located on the ground floor and you must take your time to visualize the entire gallery and the science behind it. It’s portrays all theories invented by the Muslim scholars in all fields like Medicine, Astronomy, geography, math, geometry, even war based/military techniques and technologies. I would love to visit the museum again.

Great place to view how Islam has changed the world especially in the scientific area Only negative point is the accessibility for wheelchair, you cannot enter from the main entrance unfortunately so you will have to use the entrance in the back (a disabled parking place will be there )

Must visit place if you are student of Islamic studies or Arabic history. Lot of things to see and read. You can learn a lot from the history. Aesthetic place. Neatly arranged and represented. Entry was free since I visited on National day holiday. Also Worth the money if you purchase the ticket.

The best we have seen anywhere If you want a full semester course at any of the best universities in the world in one day - that is the place. The most comprehensive museum we have seen regarding Islamic religion, art, science and technology. Not to be missed. Take your time, enjoy the amazing building and the super informative exhibition. It is worth it. Oh, and if you are over 60 entrance is free!
