Very cool place but it was a bit confusing to know where was the Exact entrance. Parking was confusing as well. Especially for visitors that dont know. All parking was street paid parking. Also it seemed like it was a little Souq (shopping) as well. I dont think alot of people know about this place, and it seemed like they were renovating it a bit... Still worth going for pictures and shopping souvenirs

Nicely laid out museum to tell the story of the emirate people before the discovery of oil. The changes took place after 1972. It is mind blowing to see the way life was just a short time ago.. Artifacts are well maintained and you do not need a guide to enjoy your visit. Story boards are in English and well done. It takes about an hour to do justice to the exhibits. I think" tweens" would even enjoy the visit.

A good experience for kids to explore science. It is neither too big nor too small but many sections were closed due to the covid 19 situation. Planetarium was also kept closed. It was less crowded thus our kids enjoyed this place. Great place for children. Quite economical as well.

It is a nice wee museum with activities for kids. However, most likely due to covid, a lot of it was sectioned off. But it is still enough to kill an hour of your time. Prices are fair, 10 aed per adult and 5 aed per child. Plenty of learning opportunities for children.

Visit the old Sharjah at this place that represents the true essence of the Emirate comprising of architecture built in traditional Arabian style, ancient Souqs, and old family houses. The area includes several museums such as Sharjah Calligraphy Museum, Al Midfaa House, Hisn Fort, Sharjah Heritage Museum along with Souk Al Arsah, each one narrating the story of Sharjah. The Sharjah Heritage Area is a collection of numerous tourist attractions that represent the heritage of the city. It also has separate opening times for women only. Located in close proximity to Corniche between Burj Avenue & Al-Maraija Road, the place offers an interesting experience for history buffs.

Great Calligraphy (Arabic) Museum and Surrounding Awesome in Heritage Area The Museum itself is small but contains a lot of information about Arabic Calligraphy. The tools and the method used for Calligraphy were also on display. There are also free workshops every week on Arabic Calligraphy so if it interests you you could check with the Museum Authorities and plan your trip accordingly. There is also a book on the Arabic Calligraphy which is on display and the title is currently available for Free. Overall a good place to visit for Calligraphy lover and the surrounding is a heritage area and the place and sight is awesome and a must visit if you are in Sharjah. It is very close to the Shopping area / Rolla Park.

The Sharjah Heritage Area is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the history and culture of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. The area is home to a number of historic buildings, including the Sharjah Fort, Sharjah Heritage Museum, and Sharjah Archaeology Museum. These buildings provide a window into the past, with exhibits on the history and culture of Sharjah and the surrounding region. One of the highlights of the Sharjah Heritage Area is the Sharjah Fort, a stunning building that dates back to the 18th century. The fort has been beautifully restored and offers a glimpse into the history of Sharjah, with exhibits on the region's culture, trade, and daily life. Overall, the Sharjah Heritage Area is a fascinating destination that offers something for everyone. Whether you're interested in history, culture, or just want to spend a few hours exploring a beautiful part of the city, the Sharjah Heritage Area is sure to impress.

We were actually visiting the Al Arsah souk, however, it was under renovations and so we took a little detour to the Sharjah Heritage Musuem. It's houses an amazing collection of historical artifacts and a gift shop, to give travellers an insight of the local culture & the ways of life before modernization of this amazing state, now Sharjah! Usually there's an entry ticket of 10 Dirhams charged per person, but since I was travelling with my mother whole is over 60, she got free entry & me too as her companion! Added photos & videos for reference! Was indeed time well spent!

"I recently visited Sharjah Heritage Museum and was pleasantly surprised to find that they were hosting a coffee event on the day of my visit. The event added an extra layer of glamor to the already delightful experience of exploring the museum. The museum itself is an excellent showcase of the history and culture of the United Arab Emirates, with a range of exhibits that highlight traditional arts, crafts, and way of life. The displays are well-curated and informative, providing visitors with a fascinating insight into the rich cultural heritage of the region.

One of several museums that offer a combined ticket and well worth spending an hour or so here to learn a bit about the emirate's history. Nicely presented, full English signage. .It was a small place but very precise with quick information about the local history of the people, place and culture. The small art gallery was awesome. It was a good start to learn more about the country.

When you enter the Museum area you come into contact with the tradition and culture of the old inhabitants of Sharjah. We need to approach the finds by letting them talk about daily life, habits, beliefs, work tools and the kitchen. It was a tiring life, but it possessed and still possesses its poetry today. To understand, however, it is better to abandon our preconceived ideas. It is an experience that fits well into the whole Sharjah Heritage Area.

One of the best indoor activities that school students would love. It has many areas for them to experience. It is better to check on their website about opening/operating areas prior visit. However, the staff at the reception and counter were very welcoming and helpful in providing details including sections that are opened and closed. It wasn't suitable for children under 5yrs old as the staff inside the exhibition area doesn't like a child making noise with excitement or running. That's the sad part!

A few nice pieces of arabic calligraphy from Turkey, Syria, Iran and Iraq. Be sure to go in and see the unique displays with ink on leather, Rose as the centre hilal and a huge piece of calligraphic mastery. Entrance is not obvious so park and walk in from the North nearer to al hisn Fort.

Great concept but needs attention to realize it's potential. Currently feels like a neglected project.

Tiny but tastefully arranged, beautiful examples of Arabic calligraphy in different scripts. As usual in Sharjah museums, nice and welcoming staff.

While the museum is small in general as area but it offers a lot of information about Arabic Calligraphy. Journey with this pure Islamic art from the past till now, also the museum offers free workshops and host some activity of the Sharjah Islamic Art festival, entrance fee is very cheap and free for kids as most of the cultural places in Sharjah, all family members will enjoy the visit and also the walk around the area.

Good small museum. The guy at the reception can talk respectfully though (specially with women). He is supposed to serve the visitors and make them feel welcome. Hope he does not take it personally and take this review in a good spirit to better serve the visitors. Also the museum can have better coordination among security and reception staff as to the areas prohibited to visit within the museum. The security said we can access some areas and if fact the security guided us to those areas himself and opened the door for us!!! whereas reception said no we cannot access those area and spoke in an ungentlemanly manner. So a clarity would help the visitors not be confused and rudely (slightly rude though but yes rude enough for the visitors) spoken to. Rest was good except for the welcome. :) One star is for the behaviour only. Rest the museum is worth visiting once and deserves 5 stars.
