December
4
2020
National
day
holiday.
We
decided
to
go
to
the
mangroves.
This
place
is
now
officially
named
as
“The
Mangrove
Beach”
and
there
is
an
entrance
fee.
The
guy
at
the
gate
told
us
for
20
bucks
you
can
spend
the
entire
day
inside.
We
paid
up
and
we
were
in.
I
noticed
goal
posts,
a
play
area
for
the
kids,
some
people
had
put
up
tents
and
some
had
caravans.
A
good
initiative
by
the
government.
I
can
feel
this
place
is
going
to
become
popular.
This
is
a
recent
development
so
there
might
be
more
changes
to
come.
So
we
looked
for
a
spot
and
parked
between
two
Caravans.
This
place
is
an
open
ground
surrounded
by
water.
There
is
no
shade
to
sit
under
so
if
you
are
planning
to
spend
the
entire
day
you
would
either
need
a
beach
umbrella
or
a
tent.
Anything
to
provide
some
shade.
So
we
setup
with
tents,
barbeque
and
all.
Sometime
later…
and
this
is
when
things
got
interesting
and
not
in
a
good
way.
A
person
approached
us
to
inform
us
of
a
charge
of
200
for
placing
tents
on
the
ground.
Since
we
were
already
setup
we
decided
to
pay.
Guess
what
happens
next.
He
tells
us
the
spot
is
already
booked
so
we
have
to
move
to
another
spot.
It
was
inconvenient
but
we
agreed
to
move
and
asked
him
for
some
time
to
pack
up
everything.
I
understand
these
things
can
happen.
Few
minutes
later
a
black
jeep
approaches
us.
This
guy
looked
angry,
he
was
from
the
tourism
department.
He
made
some
hand
gestures
from
this
car.
I
approached
him
and
informed
him
that
we
are
almost
packed
and
should
be
ready
to
leave
in
a
few
minutes.
This
is
how
the
dialog
went.
Official
–
This
place
is
for
camping
only
(said
in
a
stern
voice)
Me
–
We
were
camping
as
well.
Official
–
Did
you
register?
(stern
voice
again.)
Me
–
We
were
not
informed
at
the
gate.
(He
responded
before
I
could
finish.)
Official
–
You
should
ask.
(Very
stern)
Me
–
How
will
I
know
there
is
more?
The
guy
at
the
gate
only
told
us
about
the
entrance
ticket.
(Again
he
did
not
wait
for
me
to
finish.)
Official
–
You
should
ask.
(Louder
this
time.)
This
went
on
for
a
while.
His
body
language
and
tone
of
voice
was
clearly
condescending.
Before
leaving
he
said
I
will
see
you
at
the
gate.
True
to
his
word
he
made
us
wait
there
for
10
minutes
before
he
opened
the
gate
but
that
was
not
enough.
He
made
us
pull
over
and
park
on
the
side
for
another
few
minutes.
Bottom
line
is
make
sure
you
ask
for
all
the
details
at
the
gate
as
there
were
no
sign
boards
or
pricing
and
registration
details
mentioned
anywhere
as
of
4th
December
2020.
This
is
an
nice
place
to
camp
or
hangout.
Although
Qudra
Lake
is
much
better
and
free.
Let’s
just
hope
no
one
gets
to
face
this
man
(ever).
That
should
vastly
improve
the
experience.
Peace.
