The food was okay but not amazing. The lamb machboos was tender and the appetizer had a nice char that enhanced the flavor. However, the chicken was lacking in seasoning and the other dishes weren’t that flavorful. The atmosphere was great as we were sitting outside so had a view of the EXPO dome.

Lovely place to eat out. Ordered the mutton Machboo which was incredibly soft and delicious. For dessert, the sizzling cake was incredibly sweet. Ditto for the iced latte. Service by waiter Mohammad was excellent. Pricing is very reasonable for the quality of food (~150 aed). Highly recommended.

Ali Wallam Samboosa Vegetable Shorbat Adas Salalat Hamba Salalat Al Fanar Khanfaroush Sizzling dates pudding Pistachio Cheesecake Tiramisu Fresh lemon mint Mojito Espresso double shot Yes being vegetarians we tried all these veg dishes and everything was super delicious.

Its so traditional from the inside and out side, the food is good quality, and the people who work there are really kind! I would rate its price as ($$) it is kind of expensive... Would recommend!

We visited after watching videos on youtube about this restaurant. We were not disappointed. Its purely emirati cuisine although one cant ignore its heavily influenced by Indian cuisine. But there are notable differences to enjoy. Food was tasty and the outdoor seating was very pleasant. Best to visit during winter so you can enjoy the breeze and watch sea gulls fly around. I was quite intrigued by how the sea gulls were plenty but they kept away from the tables. They are not usually one to respect personal spaces.

Bad service. Won’t even cover you with proper shade if the seating area is outside. Damaged shaded umbrellas. Have to call staff 100 times to either order or follow up on order. Food served cold. Quality less - over priced dishes. They agreed to call me back to make it upto me for this experience but never bothered despite several follow ups. Bad customer service - makes commitment and forgets. Non serious management.

I was pleasantly surprised how nice the food was ( The Calamari was excellent ). Not a huge amount of options but enough to satisfy most pallets. Tables are spaced well so you're not on top of other diners but close enough to allow a pleasant atmosphere. Outside seating, a stones throw from the incredible Al Wasl Dome, is limited which doesn't seem to be a problem now the peak of Expo visitors is over.

The food was incredible. True authentic Emirati foods. I have stayed five star hotels both in Abu Dhabi and Dubai but none of them had a great food like the one Al Fanar had. Mind blowing experience. Thanks for all you did Riwayn and Niketan.

Lovely food, All staff have been great. We enjoyed our lunch the sharing platter for two is massive, 3 people could share it. All in all food was tasty, staff hospitality is amazing.

Pleasantly surprised. The food was very good, especially the lentil soup and the legamat. The service was excellent thanks to Prasad who was dedicated, pro active and caring, thank you Prasad. Don t miss the photos from the past inside the restaurant, very interesting.

We had lunch at alFanar restaurant, we ordered for a starter al fanar salad, if you like green leaves and a special dressing then this salad is for you, also you get a complimentary Nakhi or boiled chickpeas in gravy , for the main we ordered Meat Majboos, it was nicely spiced and very well cooked rice, good for two if you are light eaters, then we had Luqaimat and Karak tea as dessert.. the luqaimat were the best I ever ate in Dubai... Rayan was very nice and knows the menu well, all the staff were friendly and accommodating... definitely a good choice to have lunch at the expo site.. the outdoor seating area is pet friendly

Never expected to give a 5 star in all categories. But this place is fantastic. Ryan our waiter was super great, food was WOW!! Deserted based on fig, vanilla and toffee simply blew me out.

Food quality and portion is really great, so tasty and delicious. Service is a bit slow, yet very friendly and welcoming. It was really busy some waiting which is acceptable because the food is worth waiting for. Music in the place needs some enhancment to suit the vibes better.

I ordered keema and Arabic coffee with dates (75AED). The coffee had light notes of cardamom and a delicate flavor, enhanced by the sweetness of the dates. The keema was rich, well-seasoned and savory, but not heavy on the palate, and came with paratha so hot fresh that I couldn’t touch it at first. The portions were sized perfectly for my appetite. My server, Azeddine, was helpful, courteous, and a pleasure to interact with. I would gladly return.

Khaled was very helpful,he gave us recommendations on the food. We ordered Chicken Takke, rice and salad. We enjoyed every bit. It was very good.
