You can stay at BhaktaNiwas and have food at the Annachatra. The Bhaktaniwas is a good and reasonably priced place to stay. Since this is the place whee Akkalkotswami stayed for 24 years, do maintain the holiness of the place. No drinking, non-veg food. Don't be in a rush to visit the place. Stay there for 2/3 days and enjoy the peace and the serenity of the place. Same about Gangapur. The road to Gangapur is very bumpy and takes abt 3 hrs from Akkalkot. There are very limited buses coming from Solapur. Take bath at the Sangam, and take darshan of the Paduka at the Temple. Both the places are divine and do maintain the holiness of the place. It is not a tourist place for pleasure.

Not only do you get to experience divine power but it's so calm and not chaotic. They way they have made the darshan accessible is really nice and just ensures everyone is getting the blessings but not over crowding either. Very peaceful and all the outside services and very well made

Akkalkot Swami Samarth Mandir, Akkalkot I recently had the opportunity to visit the Akkalkot Swami Samarth Mandir in Akkalkot, and I must say it was a truly spiritual and enlightening experience. The mandir is dedicated to Swami Samarth, a revered saint who lived in the late 18th century, and is known for his miracles and divine teachings. The mandir itself is a magnificent structure, with intricate carvings and beautiful architecture. As you enter, you are greeted by a sense of calm and serenity that envelops the entire premises. The main deity, Swami Samarth, is placed at the center of the mandir, and devotees can offer their prayers and seek blessings. The history of the Swami Samarth Mandir dates back to the time when Swami Samarth resided in Akkalkot. It is believed that he performed numerous miracles and helped people overcome their difficulties. After his Samadhi (spiritual departure), a temple was built to honor his divine presence and to serve as a place of worship for his followers. The mandir also houses a samadhi shrine, where the mortal remains of Swami Samarth are preserved. It is considered a sacred spot, and devotees pay their respects and offer prayers here. The atmosphere in the shrine is filled with devotion and reverence, as people seek blessings and guidance from the saint. Apart from the main mandir, there are also smaller temples dedicated to other deities, such as Lord Dattatreya and Lord Ganesh. These temples offer a serene environment for devotees to pray and meditate. Overall, my visit to the Akkalkot Swami Samarth Mandir was a truly memorable experience. The divine presence and the peaceful atmosphere left a lasting impact on me. Whether you are a devotee of Swami Samarth or simply seeking spiritual solace, this mandir is definitely worth a visit. I'm sorry to hear about your disappointing experience at the Akkalkot Swami Samarth Mandir. It is indeed unfortunate when crowd management and cleanliness issues hinder the spiritual experience for devotees. The management team should prioritize the comfort and satisfaction of visitors, ensuring that everyone gets a proper darshan and maintaining cleanliness within the premises. Despite the crowd and management issues, the mandir holds great significance in the history of Akkalkot. It is dedicated to Swami Samarth, a revered saint who lived in the late 18th century. Swami Samarth is known for his miraculous powers and divine teachings, which have attracted a large following of devotees over the years. The mandir itself is a beautiful structure, with intricate carvings and architecture. It houses the main deity, Swami Samarth, along with smaller temples dedicated to other deities such as Lord Dattatreya and Lord Ganesh. The samadhi shrine, where the mortal remains of Swami Samarth are preserved, is considered a sacred spot for devotees. Despite the some management issues, I would still recommend visiting the Akkalkot Swami Samarth Mandir for its spiritual significance and the chance to seek blessings from Swami Samarth. However, it is important to be prepared for potential crowd management challenges and to voice your concerns to the appropriate authorities, such as the Akkalkot Sansthan and trust, in order to bring about improvements in the future.

An experience for lifetime. Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj temple is really really amazing and you'll feel the spiritual energy once you enter the temple. I visited on 16 Nov 23 that was Diwali time and that too on Thursday hence it was a peak time so we had to wait for almost around 2 hours in queue to get into the temple but even while waiting in that queue you'll observe the devotion in people's and that's a different kind of experience. No doubt it's very crowded inside temple but we have lakhs of people visiting each day to this temple so management can't do much about this situation, still they've managed pretty well. We got the prasad(lunch) and it was very nice but same very much crowded but for the prasad of Swami Samarth Maharaj it's all worth and we feel blessed that we got the prasad. We stayed in Raje Ray Math which is 1.1km away from temple and that math is so amazing, math has temple of swami and the management is very kind and filled with nice peoples and you'll get a proper vibe there. The cost is 700 and you'll get 1 room with 1 bed but you'll get 4 extra matress so you can easily accommodate 4/5 peoples. This math is run by trust so you can make donations if you would like to. If you want premium stay then you'll have to search for private lodge/hotels. We checked out in very early morning and before checking out we got to attend morning arati of Shree Swami Samarth Maharaj and it was very beautiful and energetic experience. IMP Note: There is no online booking or any kind of charges to visit the temple. You'll come across some people who'll tell you that they'll manage your visit into the temple directly without have to wait into the queue but there's not such escape as such. The rules are same for everyone so please be aware of such people's and scams.

The town overall needs good cleanliness. But a very crowded place which is expected with so many devotees coming from all over the place to get Darshan of swami Samarth maharaj. One suggestion to the trustees is that the main gabhara needs some sort of barricades or discipline as not everyone gets a good Darshan and people push each other a lot which defeats the purpose of getting a peaceful Darshan of maharaj.

Akkalkot is a Holy place of Shri.Swami Samarth Maharaj. It is located at a distance of 38 kms. by road from Solapur District headquarters. This Saint is believed to be the reincarnation of Lord Dattatraya. The Samadhi of this Saint is worshipped by the devotees. The Death Anniversary is celebrated on Chaitra Shuddha Trayodashi every year. Large number of devotees visit the place everyday. The present temple is built around famous banyan tree. This is the same banyan tree sitting under which Shri.Swami Maharaj used to meditate and preach the followers. The temple consists of main temple, sabha mandap and accommodation. Annacchatra (free meals to devotees) is organized daily (two times in day) by temple authorities. The Swami Samarth Maharaj came to Akkalkot at the beginning of Shake 1779. The total period of reincarnation of Swamiji as the fourth Avataar of Shri. Datta is forty years of which he spent 21 years in Akkalkot. From the historic point of view Shri.Swami Maharaj brought to an end his avatar in Shake 1800. But after three months, he resurrected and appeared before the faithful in Kashi (Varanasi). The holy Samadhi of Shri. Swamiji is loacated in the house of shri. Cholappa in the place already reserved for it before his bodily demise. This is known as Samadhimath. The spiritual fearless slogan in marathi โ€˜BHIU NAKOS MI TUJHYA PATHISHI AAHEโ€™ (Donโ€™t fear, I am with you) is given by Shri. Samarth Swami Maharaj himself.

Holy place but no cleanliness. Akkalkot sansthan and trust should look into making the mandir clean. Humble request to all devotees please donโ€™t break coconut as it creates lot of cleanliness issues. Trust should make some arrangement for breaking the coconut.
