This place is an absolute dream for vegans! I was almost overwhelmed by the menu, and frankly I'd order one of everything if I could possibly eat that much. Beyond the food, the prices are more than fair and the staff is super friendly. Lastly, it's a beautiful and cozy establishment. I have been to many nice pubs in my time, but this has to be my favourite.

Close to both the British Museum and the Holborn Station. A brilliant selection of beers to try before buying and outside seats.

The food was good. But I like when a restaurant or pub has transparency in its prices. The waiter charged us a service charge 12,5 % which wasn't written anywhere in menú and he did It before serving the meal for making you to pay it

I came here for an event at the weekend and had a lovely time! Really cute cosy pub, amazing food options and well priced drinks which is a bonus. The bartender Mitch was really nice and accommodating! My friends and I all agreed to come back soon for a proper meal!

Very cosy and nice little pub. We had very tasty mulled wine that warm us up that cold sunny Saturday.

I provided a valid ID to the security to let me in, but they refused To accept it.. also is very rude with me ...for them it's better that I don't say anything else.. P.s:This document is related to my status to legally live and work in the uk..

We came for after work drinks - never have I experienced more rude and ignorant bar staff. They were more interested in chatting on the phone than serve their warm overpriced wine.

I had a lot of fun here but it's pretty dangerous on the stairs, the food isn't great and it is expensive. 3 stars for great staff though, cleanliness and vegetarianism. Free karaoke comes close to adding an extra star but my voice just went so it ain't getting it. I will definitely come back but I have to be honest.

Of the roughly 20 people there during my visit I'd estimate none of them really wanted a DJ in the lower bar area. Ambient background music would have done much better around the downstairs bar, especially as proper night clubs are do close and do that job to a better standard.

Booked out the karaoke room upstairs which is a great venue if you're getting a group of friends together. Great song selection and the staff were all really helpful throughout the night.

Didn't eat here hence the one star as we just popped in for a drink. Always nice to find and check out a new boozer and this one on the fringes of Bloomsbury doesn't disappoint. Friendly service and a nice selection of beers. The place was pretty busy for an early afternoon and had a varied mix of people including young families which is always a good sign. Definitely worth checking out.

Nice place to hang with friends. Menu isn’t substantial so don’t expect a proper meal. They only have some Mexican tacos and quesadillas as small bites. We ordered the drinks special - 2 for 1.

My friends and I decided to visit this bar for a casual evening of drinks. As we approached the entrance, the security staff claiming that the bar was closing ahead of schedule. However, we saw through their ruse and insisted on entering. Once inside, we were met with a different story altogether. The attentive bar staff informed us of the actual operating hours, which contradicted the false information provided by the security team. It was quite the rollercoaster of events! While we managed to enjoy our evening eventually, it's worth noting the questionable conduct of the security personnel at the door. Their attempt to deceive us about the bar's closing time left us scratching our heads. It's important for future visitors to be aware of this peculiar situation and approach the bar with caution. In the end, we couldn't help but chuckle at the absurdity of the situation. Despite the initial hiccups, we made the most of our time at the bar. However, we feel it's essential to share our experience and warn others about the dodgy security practices at the entrance. So, if you're planning a visit to this establishment, keep your wits about you and be prepared for a slightly unconventional entrance. Happy imbibing, and may you have smoother encounters with the security staff than we did!

A midweek visit at 6.00pm a good buzz about the pub. Sadly, the menu only had two choices, and I wish I hadn't made a choice. Expensive and poor quality.

We went in just for beer this afternoon. They offered Rivertown Pilsner and IPA. The best drafts we’ve found in London so far. It was a great location, close to the British Museum but quiet and relaxing inside. Staff was very friendly and personable.

Standard pub as far as pubs go, but what makes this place special is the grumpiest, rudest barman in London. From afar, with no punters at the bar, he's all smiles and laughs - but the minute one approaches he puts on the most sullen face and barks at you for not ordering in the right way. Poor guy, I think he's in the wrong profession. His surly attitude definitely prevents this from becoming a regular.

We came here for aome karaoke. The bartender was supper chill and nice. We got some free shots and had an amazing time singing out loud! The bartender really cared about giving us a great karaoke night! If he still works here, I absolutely suggest this place!!

Disaster. We booked a karaoke room for a friend's birthday party which had to start an hour late due to a double booking by the venue. Furthermore, none of the microphones in the room worked! One staff member in particular was extremely rude, moving us out of the room half way through our allotted time (another staff member told us we had use of that room all night) to an upstairs room that smelt like a wet market and didn't even have a karaoke machine! Very poor, avoid. I should also add I've been holding off writing this review in the hope the venue responds to my friend's refund request, but it's been a month and still nothing. Awful.

I really don’t know how to start… but just don’t go there PERIDOT! But long story short we went there to celebrate my friends b’day. She booked karaoke room. At the start no one explained how did it work and we were always up and down to get drinks coming through. As fee you pay £80 for 2hours plus you need to spend £160 as minimum. We thought that we could reach it but the fact no one was helping with the services that didn’t happen at the end. We got into our located room with no instructions how the machine works but we made it happen. At the end of the booking a member of staff basically said that he needed to clean the space ASAP because he had another booking - instead of acknowledging our time there but he would need to do such a thing as is his job. On our way to pay - to the main bar because we just assumed so - no one told us where to pay - a member of security approached us while we were leaving and asked us if we were leaving - this in a matter of seconds of our session coming to an end. He replied to him that we got the message but how many time we need to explain that we were leaving. In the way to main bar - sorting out our payments - the same security that previously approached us - talks to one of my friends in a rude way. Of course he replied back to him because of his approach but ended up being kicked out. The same security ended up asking my friend if he was gay or not in the middle of their small talk. As overall experience I would not recommend to any member LGBTQ+ or anyone really. Was a big mess from the first step in. I tried other places with Karaoke rooms and people were much more friendly and nice. On the silver lining the room is spacious for large groups 10+ ppl. Still would not go there tho. Recommendation: train your staff properly that shows your brand ethos. Not everyone that goes to your service is a tourist. Bad experiences could be avoided with different approaches/ way of dealing with situations.

awesome place with the most chill and helpful bartender I've ever met: he provided us with a knife and napkins for a big birthday cake cake we brought, let us extend our karaoke room booking way past our original end time, and gave us all a free shot of delicious cazcabel which is now my new favourite spirit. 10/10 service, have starred this place in my maps and will be returning with mates whenever I'm in the area.

I had a good time at this venue. The venue is quirky and unique. They offered £5 cocktails which were tasty! The staff were friendly and really made an effort to connect with you which is very uncommon in London! 1 star off for absence of £2/£3 beers which I can find at Wetherspoons.

Loved it here. We went in on a Friday night and the atmosphere was brilliant. The DJ was awesome, the bar staff looked like they were having fun and the whole vibe was fantastic. The drinks were decent too. We could've stayed here dancing until 6am... Unfortunately it closed at 3am. My fiancée told the DJ that we'd just got engaged and he gave us a shout out, then as we left he congratulated us and the whole bar applauded :-) Such a great bar, I definitely recommend checking it out.

Went to watch football. Although not serving food, the bar staff had arranged to call the pizza House opposite for a click and collect service. In the meantime and throughout, the staff were attentive and polite. Always on hand to serve you at your table. Highly recommend.

Dope dj last Saturday, we knew we wouldn't get into a club at the time we were looking si just thought to pop into the Old Crown for drinks but was confronted by some great classics and we had a good boogie and the DJ did birthday shout outs which i hadnt heard DJs do in like 10years haha We had a great time. Even the bouncer who threw me out for trying to re-enter was nice enough.

Worst pub I have been in in London. Service sucks. Very slow, unqualified staff that doesn't know what it means to serve in a pub. Unfriendly. Just awfull. Don't go there.

Way too noisy with sound bouncing around even without the pub being full. But got a table and seated plus served quickly, so not too bad.

Pub itself great olde worldy. If your a tourist wanting to see a traditional British pub this is the one. Bit get the organic larger the Taddy Larger is pretty tasteless. Staff change frequently so hard to rate service. Big outdoor area. Good for beers. Traditional boozer ! .

I usually go to the vegan meetups in this pub (every first Wednesday of the month) and have always had a great time there. The venue has three floors with a bar on the bottom and top floor and a karaoke room on the 2nd floor. They have some vegan food on the menu and offer food and drink specials for people who take part in the vegan meetup. Besides the specials, prices are average for central London. Staff as well as guests are usually very nice, it's always a great atmosphere with positive vibes. I recommend this pub! 😃👍

  • 3/5 Tea B. 1 year ago on Google
Nice enough pub but the glasses were not very clean (dishwasher repair maybe), the water tasted vile and no one drank it. Very pricey but that’s central London all over. Interesting karaoke room on the first floor enough for a small group of upto 15. 2nd floor reserved usually for comedy and open mic night but is very basic.

Had the pie mash an licour it was very nice. Busy place but not surprising as it's on the corner of a very busy part of covent garden

Its an alright pub and crowd- But the staff are terrible! Firstly, the 2 aggressive, arrogant & idiotic doormen let all my work colleagues in and then refused me entry because I was apparently "drunk". When I explained that I'm T-Total and have never had alcohol in my life they changed their story to accuse me of being on drugs. Once again, I explained that I had never taken drugs in my life. After 5 minutes of embarrassment, they let me in......... Secondly the bald, bearded gentleman that works there was extremely rude to our group and made us feel very unwelcome. We will not be returning.

Do not go to this pub. There are hundreds of better pubs and karaoke locations nearby. The staff are incredibly rude and will try to scam you for a minimum spend payment even if you’ve already paid that much. Manager is incompetent as well. Avoid at all costs. DJ is good though.

My previous workplace was close to a pub, so I used to go there with my customers and staff to take a break after work. Today, after quitting my job, I went with the staff who had been working for me for the first time in a long time. The staff welcomed me and gave me a shot because I was a regular. I asked him if he remembered me and he said yes of course, which made me very happy. I haven't written a review yet, but I thought this pub really valued its regulars See you soon Thank you so much!! From dear Japanese and Chinese customers.

Absolutely extortionate, not worth the time and money. DO NOT BOOK WITH BRAZEN MONKEY. Was scammed into paying £340 when I was told it would be £100. Ruined my 18th birthday.

Went to a friends bday. over a call she was told it was £100 for the whole thing. up front they asked for £240. they didn’t explain anything beforehand just left us to our own then pretty much scammed us definitely not worth it also there’s a leaky roof. Me and my friends were literally being splashed. Terrible experience won’t be going again.
