It was closed so we only saw it from the outside but it’s well worth the visit. Covered in bullet holes and tank shell damage. A sad reminder of war

One of the best war museums, great experience in person as a Kuwaiti. I’m stunned to see the debris and ruins of the house itself, this is a historical landmark and an important piece of Kuwait’s History. It deserves a visit as a kuwaiti or a Expat, one of the most important landmarks in Kuwait.

A vivid illustration of the effects of the invasion and liberation. It's a bit out of the way, and it would be nice if there was more information in English about the battle. There's a free English booklet that basically reiterates what was in the signs Worth a visit, but it likely won't be a long one. Hours changed for Ramadan - it was open only after 8:30

(Translated by Google) Messila Group The Messila group - one of the Kuwaiti resistance groups during the Iraqi invasion - attacked 31 young men who took the Qurain area as their headquarters for their operations under the leadership of Syed Hadi Syed Muhammad Alawi. The group collected weapons and used them in fighting the Iraqi forces by sniping people from the army or destroying military vehicles. The group carried out these operations until November 1990, when the Iraqi forces tightened inspection and control of personnel, so the group was involved in civil work and serving the people of the region until the start of the air campaign of the Second Gulf War. On January 17, 1991, the group took out the weapons again and moved to another house in the same area, but in a less densely populated sector, in order to preserve the lives of civilians, and that was in the house of Badr Al-Eidan (one of the members of the group). The Battle: The events of the battle began on the morning of February 24, 1991 when a group of Iraqi army and Iraqi intelligence knocked on the door of Al-Qurain House in order to search it or steal its contents. And when no one responded to the knock, one of the soldiers jumped over the market wall of the house and tried to enter, so one of the Masilah group, present in the house, shot the soldier. There were 19 of the group of 31 people in the house. Then the Iraqi army surrounded the house and opened fire on the resistance members. The Iraqi army was supported by tanks and RPGs in exchange for light armaments for the Al-Masila group. However, the battle continued until six in the evening. It ended with the killing of 3 members of the resistance and the families of 9 others, whose bodies were found dumped in separate places after they were tortured, and 7 of the group's members managed to escape. Names of the group killed: Syed Hadi Syed Muhammad Alawi - Group Leader Amer Farag Al-Anzi Youssef Khudair Youssef Ali Badr Nasser Abdullah Al-Aidan Ibrahim Ali Safar Mansour Abdullah Abdul Nabi Mandani Khalil Khairallah Abdul Karim Al Balushi Khaled Ahmed Mohammed Al-Kandari Hussein Ali Ghuloom Rida Mubarak Ali Safar Mansour Jassim Muhammad Ali Ghuloom Muhammad Othman Ali Al-Shaya Battle Impact: The Battle of Bayt Al-Qurain is a national epic that highlights the role of the Kuwaiti resistance during the Iraqi invasion, as it united all spectrums of Kuwaiti society in a national way. The National Council for Culture, Arts and Literature transformed the house into a museum to commemorate the martyrs and this epic. During his visit to the museum on April 14, 1994, Allied Forces Commander Norman Schwarzkopf said: “My presence in this residence makes me wish that we had come (ie the attack) four days, and if we had done so, perhaps this tragedy would not have happened.” A group of youths commemorated the battle on February 24, 2012, in order to enhance national unity. Beautiful history at its finest showcasing the brave martyrs who stood and protected what they can. It's definitely worth a visit to understand more about the Qurain fight where a few houses combined, remaining cars, a tank and a water tank that transported people. Sadly when we visited it was closed and only PM timings on friday.

A place that I’ve been too many times as a kid and continue to go to as an adult (especially on national or liberation day). It’s a sad reminder of the Iraqi invasion in 1990-91. Many Kuwaiti citizens with no training formed resistance groups during the first gulf war. One such group was Almassilah group that used Alqurain “house” as a base. Iraqi troops discovered the group by chance when they were looking for houses to steal. Iraqi soldiers asked for back up and attacked the group in that house. Three Kuwaitis were killed straight away (places of their deaths are marked in the museum). Several, around 7, were captured, tortured and then eventually killed and several others managed to hide (the place they used to hide is also marked in the museum). Considerable effort was put to maintain this place and I think it was recently extended to put photos of other martyrs and prisoners of war (who were killed also). Also, there are many letters displayed (in Arabic) in the new extension. These letters were exchanged between Iraqi officials at the time of invasion. Some weapons are also displayed in that area. Entry is free of charge. There are guides if needed. I noticed ramps for wheelchair users but upper floors can only be accessed through the stairs. Personally, I think every resident in Kuwait should visit this place. If you like this review please give it a Like 👍🏼

The place is where the kuwaiti resistants were placed to work for protecting kuwait on 1990-1991 from iraqi forces and the place where they got murdered. So the house shows where each person died inside and there is a room with their pictures names and role in the resistance with some of iraqi weapons used on them. الله يسكنهم في اعلى مراتب جناته ❤️

This house in the Qurain region in Kuwait was one of the centers of the Kuwaiti resistance during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait and a battle took place on February 24, 1991, where 12 members of the resistance were martyred . The National Council for Culture& Arts transformed the house into a museum to commemorate the martyrs and this epic. Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah ordered the conversion of the house in which the battle took place to a historical museum. The battle of Beit al-Qurain is a national epic battle that highlights the role of the Kuwaiti resistance during the Iraqi invasion, as it united all segments of Kuwaiti society. During his visit to the museum on April 14, 1994, Coalition Forces Commander Norman Schwarzkopf said: “When I’m in this house it makes me wish that we had come four days earlier, then perhaps this tragedy would not have happened.”

One of the many stories that occurred during the 1990 invasion of Kuwait. The events of this house took place in Feb 24th 1991 I believe. Just a couple of days before the liberation of Kuwait.

Very emotional especially for those who lived during that period and very useful for young generations to learn part of what happened during the invasion. This museum is the actual place where a battle took place on February 24, 1991 and martyrs died. The visitor may also see their weapons, photos, and even personal belongings. Outside there are the vehicles they were using during the occupation including the waters tanker vehicle.

Al Qurain Martyrs’ Museum Kuwait City,Kuwait,Middle East Kuwait City LoginSave In the residential suburb of Qurain, this excellent small museum is a sobering memorial to a cell of young Kuwaitis who tried to resist Iraqi arrest in February 1991. The house, still in its post-attack state (fully supported with beams) has the bullet holes and signs of destruction caused by grenades and a tank. Signs show where the Kuwaitis fought and hid during the siege. An exhibition displays the weapons used in the battle, including kalashnikovs, tanks and shotguns. Allow at least half an hour to visit. It's around a 20-minute taxi ride southeast of the city centre, or bus 101 stops within a 10-minute walk of the museum. Although signposted with brown signs, it's difficult to find the exact location. Locals should be able to point you in the right direction.

The place have the remnants of the Iraqi war. A good reminder of the Kuwait Iraqi war fought and the Martyr who died in the War. There is a display of an Iraqi Tank, vehicles the Martyr used, the vehicle used to transport the resistance army, the van with bullet holes used to transport the kidnapped. The building holds and displays bullet marks. You can visit by entering the site and tour around the building. The Kuwaiti Flag is hoisted at the actual place where it was declared independance. A must visit place on the 25 & 26 Feb. My family and I truly enjoyed it. A historic place to visit

A historical place to visit. This place has special significance to the history of Kuwait. This place was initially about the history related to Al Messila Group (a small resistance group during first gulf war). However, at present they have incorporated many other related historical evidence in the museum. At the end of our tour the 30 minutes video was very touchy and made me emotional. They have good arrangements to guide visitors. This is a must visit place for those who want to learn about history of Kuwait.

This is one of few and significant places in Kuwait that stands forever as a testimony to what people actually went through during the first gulf war. Well kept and organized with proper working hours. I just can’t imagine what people who live close by it feel like every time they walk out of their homes!
