Brilliant museum. It kept us busy with a large collection of objects from the last century that was a wonderful dejavu for me personally. We also had a smart and charming guide to show us around. My favourite museum in Kuwait by a mile

It has to be a must go place to learn the rich heritage of Kuwait. This place feels a bit nostalgic from looking at old TV sets, washing machines and many other things, there is a zoo full of taxidermied animal and skeletons of big whales etc. There is a lot of stuff you would want you and your children to know about the world. This is a perfect place to start. Only suggestion is that the museum should have directions clearly marked numerically since you miss the places easily like inside a maze. The maps given to us was a bit difficult to understand.

Absolutely amazing museum. I never thought it would be this huge, it took too long to finish it. Positive points: - cheap entry ticket kd1/-. - available parking. - available restaurant & Caffe. - available both male & female restrooms. - lovely atmosphere of the old Kuwaiti life. Negative points: - no supervision whatsoever, kids & some adults keep trying stuff around. Those stuff are old and precious, they should either be monitored or put in closed glass. Otherwise, they'll be damaged.

I have lived all my life in kuwait and never saw a place that has covered all the aspects of like in kuwait , KOC, Police, Army, Citizens, art, music, shopping , and airlines are some of what this museum shed lights on . Highly recommended. Parking available for free, entrance is 1kd (3.5 usd) the place is wheelchair friendly.

(Translated by Google) Al-Othman House Museum House and Office of the late Abdullah Al-Othman This house is located at the eastern intersection of Abdullah Al-Othman Street and Ibn Khaldoun Street From the Naqrah Al-Othman area (Hawali). It was built in the late 1940's with an area Total (9454 square meters), and includes several old houses surrounded by high walls and pavements around the building consisting of 157 rooms - 16 kitchens - 61 bathrooms. 80% of the house was built of cement whose thickness ranges between forty and fifty cm 2 in relation to the walls, and the columns were built using the methods used at that time and used cement reinforced with iron, and the roofs have been renewed, i.e. reinforcing the ceilings on the ground floor of the Oud house after falling Al-Jandal during the period 1962 and 1985, as a result of its exposure to heavy rains throughout this period. All existing walls were built with a thickness of not less than 45 cm, with reinforced fences under each wall. The walls are still standing and are made of cement bricks about 30 cm thick and approximately 30 x 40 cm in size, and are covered with a cement material in the color of earth, which still maintains its durability. As for the sanitary and electrical works, they are considered non-existent, and may cause them to restart until the property becomes eligible to be rented as housing for singles, for a period ranging between eight and ten years, and this has led to the breaking and distortion of the outer and inner cladding of the building The general character of these buildings is surrounded by a high wall in relatively different colors, as a result of the addition of buildings and houses over time and in succession, and it must also be noted that the Kuwaiti character somewhat differs from the point of view parallel to Al-Othman Street, as the back wall or south of the southern façade is characterized by the character of the wall Or the high fence.

This museum contains numerous displays relating to Kuwaiti history, society and culture. The museum is quite large, and I would recommend allocating about 2-3 hours to see everything. Please note that entry is 1 KWD, payable by cash only.

A museum which highlights the Kuwaiti culture and other sections as well. The place looks small from the outside but you will end up spending 2-3hrs. Most of the sections are closed on top. The only thing missing in this museum is the interactive exhibits similar as to the ones in the Sheikh Abdullah Al Salem Cultural Centre.

Bait Al-Othman is a historic museum in Kuwait located in Hawalli. Inaugurated by the Amir of Kuwait in April 2013, the museum is dedicated to the history and culture of Kuwait from the pre-oil era to present time. The museum hosts numerous historical items and antiques of pre-oil Kuwait. Housh (courtyard), diwaniyas, muqallatt, kitchen, living room, master’s bedroom and visitors’ room can all be seen. There are mini museums within the museum such as the Kuwait Drama Museum, Kuwait House Museum, Heritage Hall, Kuwaiti Souq, and Journey of Life Museum. It's one of the last real Kuwaiti heritage gems that wasn't raised by the Iraqis during the 1990 brutal invasion of Kuwait. The location is the only problem with this great museum. But it's worth the drive as it really gets you back to old Kuwait! I just love how they took care of every little detail of the house/musium/heritage center! Enjoy a bit of the real kuwait!!

Bait Al Othman Museum is a Kuwait historic museum with artefacts of Kuwait's history and culture. The Museum was mostly empty with one 3 other people visiting, the entry fee is 1KD. The museum looks small from the outside but very spacious interior. Expect to spend at least 1 hour going through all the numerous rooms of the museum. It is worth the visit and very educative/informative.

Great efforts to document the Kuwaiti culture. I find the new animals museum a bit odd and confusing, especially that it's not focused on Kuwait habitat. I suggest replacing it with something more relevant. Also the section were you view different old style rooms (aljahra, failka, etc) they were all repititive and didn't reflect the real specific culture of each name.
