We
chose
to
dine
here
reading
the
positive
reviews.
We
came
with
high
expectations
to
have
Indonesian
food
but
it
was
a
very
mediocre
experience
for
us.
Some
of
the
items
like
martabak
telor
were
over
fried
to
the
extent
that
it
was
almost
burnt.
It
was
so
excessively
oily.
The
tamarind
dipping
sauce
it
came
with
was
laden
with
palm
sugar.
Even
though
palm
sugar
has
a
slightly
lower
glycemic
index
compared
to
regular
sugar,
they
use
it
excessively
which
makes
it
too
sweet
and
unhealthy.
The
tahu
(
tofu)
gerjot
deep
fried
tofu
tasted
good
-
it
had
the
exact
same
tamarind
dipping
sauce
poured
over
it.
The
bir
pletok
betwaki
drink
was
so
unimaginably
sweet
-
we
asked
for
it
to
be
replaced
and
they
said
it
cannot.
The
server
was
kind
enough
to
give
us
some
water
to
reduce
the
sweetness.
We
were
told
that
it
is
sweet
because
of
cane
sugar
which
is
naturally
healthy.
Now,
cane
sugar
is
the
type
of
sugar
made
from
sugarcane.
The
sucrose
molecules
in
both
types
of
sugar
are
identical,
so
scientifically
there
isn't
much
difference.
Overall,
the
drink
we
got
was
EXCESSIVELY
sweet.
The
food
we
got
was
EXCESSIVELY
oily
and
deep
fried.
The
problem
with
the
restaurant
is
that
they
over
use
the
basic
ingredients
(
out
of
proportion).
The
accompaniments
(
dips
and
sauces)
were
good.
All
this
came
at
a
price
of
102.9
AED
which
was
very
poor
value
for
money.
The
only
redeeming
element
was
the
fact
that
the
lady
server
apologized
for
the
bad
experience
and
was
very
friendly
and
courteous.
