I had a late breakfast (hummus with vegetables), everything was fresh and tasty. But what I loved the most was coffee (tried few times to find a good one in Havana but no luck) and the charming cat.

GREAT (consistent) coffee, sandwiches and cocktails!!! I wish I’d found this place on day 1 in Havana - hands down, BEST COFFEE IN HAVANA. I grabbed a takeaway latte (fuerte!) and it was so good, I went back 10min later (CUP550). We then looped back after an hour or 2 for lunch. FRESH sourdough bread was a welcome treat in Havana Old Town, and the frozen mojito was off the charts good. AND great value compared to some other places in Havana. I only wish I went on day 1. It’s a popular place, but worth the wait. And friendly service with a smile each time.

I’ve never had a more delicious breakfast sandwich in my life (tip: it’s a special order of egg added to a ham and cheese sandwich). Wonderful chocolate banana cake (tip: get it warmed up). Pitch perfect fresh ginger juice. Super charming spot, will come back tomorrow.

The best breakfast in Old Havana. Oof - so good & tasty. We went there 3 times. For example the Breakfast platter, the pancakes, the fruit juices, the espresso, Coffee latte on ice. The prices are also good. The owner is a really nice person! He also helped us with a personal matter - thanks again! A super nice place where u feel really welcomed! ..and you can pay with crypto ;-)

Great for breakfast. Also, we tried ice latte and really liked it. It is strongly suggested. Prices are also ok. The breakfast plate is 300 Peso ~ 4 Euro. Also, they are so friendly and polite. Great experience in Havana.

Hand down THE best cafe in Havana. Great selection of food. Vegan options including vegan shakes. Healthy and delicious! They have an Instagram cat that is adorable, amarillo! Servers and staff are kind, polite, and friendly. The best! Highly recommended. We ate here 4 times in our one week in Cuba.

Following my friend Mark’s recommendation, so we followed him in this nice and chill coffee shop located in a narrow street of Havana Vieja. Staff is very cool and friendly, food is great, especially sandwiches and salads. Unfortunately the crisis hits hard, most of the menu is unavailable.

This breakfast was the best of our 10 day trip to Cuba! 🇨🇺 We got to enjoy our favourite coffee, frapuccino, pancakes, toast and yogurt bowl in a cosy ambience. The atmosphere even made us exchange with the other customers present that day and sharing our 6 person table with them. Everyone was unanimous, best brunch place or in Havana or in our respective trips to Cuba. Price of 32 euros for 3 people, expensive for Cuba, but we didn't eat until 17:00 that afternoon after our brunch so it was definitely worth it for us! ☕🥞🥭

Great food and atmosphere. Their in-house bread is to die for. The fruits were fresh and seasonal. The mojito was extremely refreshing in the heat of July. I recommend vividly!

Excellent place for breakfast, it gets a bit crowded as it is very popular but there is alway space if you ask. I highly recommend it for breakfast when in Havana.

We were told to visit El Cafe for breakfast by another tourist we met on a walking tour. On our final day in Havana, we decided to give this place a try and we were not disappointed. All the food was fresh and delicious, especially the coffee Banana cake. The sandwiches were delicious. Had we discovered the place sooner we would've come by more often. The place does get busy after 9 and there is a bit of a wait.

Good clean healthy food at a great price! The sandwiches were much better than expected. The coffee was fantastic. The staff on duty was very respectful and responsive. Thank you! I would have eaten breakfast here everyday but only discovered this on my last day in Havana.

This became our favorite spot in the mornings during our week long stay in Havana. The staff are wonderful, food was fresh and delicious, and they make great coffees and fresh juices. Love the minimalist decor and the mural in the back courtyard!

Really amazing spot in the old town. Really could not rate it highly enough. We generally never frequent the same place twice while traveling but this place was so great we came here for breakfast every day. Fresh pastries, great coffee, sour dough toast. Superb fresh juice too. Very popular spot. Prices extremely reasonable.

Had a great time here at El Café with my friends. The waitresses are friendly and are bilingual. The toilets are clean and they have a cute, orange cat in the café! The banana chocolate milkshake was superb. You could taste the flavour of the distinct flavours of both the chocolate and banana and the entire drink wasn’t sweet. They use oat milk to make this milkshake which complemented the flavours very well! The sandwiches were packed with fillings and makes for a hearty meal.

Cute cafe! Not our favorite of the trip but we still recommend it! The sourdough toast was delicious and highly recommend the ginger juice. So refreshing and a good tummy settler. We had also ordered the cheese sandwich with paprika. Skip that one. Lacked flavor and odd texture. We also ordered the iced latte.

A great place in Havana to grab a nice breakfast to get the day started. The spicy hummus sandwich is delicious, with a very yummy bread. The iced latte is well done and the mango frappe is very tasty. Keep in mind that some items will not be available certain days due to the situation in Cuba, but the service is great and you’ll always have a good option available.

The most "european" breakfast you can have in the Old Havana. Located in a beautiful typical Cuban style building, it will provide you with an excellent quality of food as well as a variety of coffees and natural juices. Staff is friendly and service is quite quick. The place is popular to tourists; you wont get to see many locals there. It gets busy so maybe you have to wait a little bit to find a table. Prices are very good and quantity even better!

  • 5/5 Alexia S. 4 years ago on Google
Absolutely loved this place! Shows the inventive side of Cuba and the amazing things you can make with normal food: try the hummus and the pancakes! Absolutely divine! And the coffee is REALLY good too.

  • 4/5 Abhishek G. 9 months ago on Google
Food is great. Lots of vegetarian options on the menu. But the ambience has a lot to be desired. Just one fan to keeping the whole place cool doesn’t cut it. Plenty of flies everywhere. And there’s a cat that does what it pleases.

Amazing place to eat as a vegan in Havana! Not too many places that offer vegan food, so to find a place that offers multiple vegan options is amazing! The avocado toast is absolutely unbelievable- highly recommend.

If you happen to find yourself in Old Havana, don’t pass up El Cafe. Great for a quick bite and a fantastic cup of coffee (or try Frappuccino a lo Cubano). Veggie sandwich is filled with eggplant and other delicious goodies and the ham and cheese really hits the spot. It’s popular with locals and foreigners. The friendly staff really makes the experience worthwhile. The also have a house cat, just part of the experience. Meow🐈…

Hands down the best place for breakfast in Havana. Very reasonable prices considering the quality of food you get compared to other establishments. Wish we'd found it sooner on our trip.

  • 4/5 TheMonalisa1976 1 year ago on Google
The breakfast was good, coffee fantastic, like everywhere in Cuba. Kind of hipster place. It's overpriced, 3 little bread toasts with minimal amount of butter for €2. Breakfast for 2 people was €14. Also, we didn't like that one of girls locked the door in front of our faces when we arrived at 8:55am a d they open at 9am. I understand you don't have to bother about silly tourists on jet lag who wake up at 4am. Then they assume everyone has a mobile to take a picture of their menu and choose the food at the table, because "you can't stand here" the girl said.We found it rude. Guy who provided a service was very nice. It's actually 3,5*, but I can't make it like that, hence a bit of credit for the future.

This is the best cafe in Havana and second is not even close. We found it on day 2 and went every day for the rest of our trip. Everything is amazing from the coffee, to the avocado toast and probably best pancakes I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favour, don’t bother going anywhere else.

  • 5/5 Alex 1 year ago on Google
Probably Havana’s best cafe. Certainly the first we have been to which knows what veganism is, let alone have it written on the menu. The coffee was delicious; both soy milk and a vegan sandwich are on offer. We got takeaway but inside looked nice too.

(Translated by Google) Great local specialized in breakfast sandwiches, juices and coffee, but it is also worth trying their fresh fruit dishes, yogurt with fresh fruits, granola and toast (sour dough bread) with butter or sour orange marmalade, and even hummus with cucumber, tomato, carrots and toast.

Seems to be the only western style cafe in Cuba. Decent breakfast, but could be a little bigger. They sell sourdough loafs which is awesome. Coffee is probably the best we had in Cuba. Fair value for money.

It was the first and the last place in Havana i ate in. I wanted a "safe", quick and not too big option - i got a super cosy place, with great music, simple but delicious food and drinks. Place is tiny, so depending on part of a day it may be empty or very busy.

Best food we had in Havana. The chicken sandwich is a must, and reasonably priced at 5cuc. They also make great mojitos and fresh fruit juices. The place is pretty small and it gets packed quickly, so not good for large groups. They opened at 9am, we got there round 9:20am and luckily got the last table.
