AVM Heritage Museum

Museum

🫤 First of all the Entry cost is too high. Rs.200 and Rs.100 for Adult and Kids... Moreover, It is not a typical museum kind of place. There is no Fan or AC in that Hall. Giant like AVM Company should not collect this much amount from the public for this presentation. People often mention cars, vintage, museum, film, experience, collection, movie, cinema,

Nice experience to get into the road where the AVM globe revolves. The museum houses mostly vintage cars and miniature car models. Other items covered are projectors, sound mixers, mics, displays, avm production movie posters etc. Rajnikanth idol is kept inside also some of the bikes and cars which were used in films are also kept in this museum. The sitting area is outside, restroom available, car parking only on the side of the road. The cost of a ticket for adults is 200 and children 100. The price is pretty high. The most attractive thing for me was the big ceiling fan. It's really awesome. Don't miss it.

Went with lots of expectation. Kind of disappointment. Museum means explanation for each item in the display. 90% missing. MGR's car is good. Why is nano car displayed? In which movie it appeared? How does the old electronic system work? Either in writing or a video clip should be there. A video of how people used to work in the studio should be included. The kind of temperature when all lights were on etc. The old studio environment should have been reproduced there. What is floor in a studio? How many floors did AVM have? All missing. No parking sign on both side of the road? is it a private road? No canteen. Fortunately restroom was there. You can call it AVM Kolu (கொலு) not museum. And of course 200 is too much. 50 Rs is sufficient even if all missing items were included.

Good experience getting exposed to all the antique equipments used in movie making in earlier days. All the antique cars and bikes are well maintained and it's great to see them. Cons The place is overpriced Not adequate airflow inside the hall, I'd recommend to go in the evening. No description for most of the items

For over 77 years, AVM Studios has been synonymous with setting benchmarks in the film industry having produced over 177 movies. As the oldest active film studio in India, the AVM family has kept up with that legacy, building and adapting it to changing times. AVM Studios launched ‘AVM Heritage Museum’. A celebration of legacy, cinema history and our carefully preserved archives, the museum will give visitors the chance to immerse themselves into the rich history of AVM and an impressive collection of rare automobiles. The museum was inaugurated by the Honorable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu Thiru. M.K. Stalin on 7th May 2023. Opening Hours: Open Friday–Saturday–Sunday 10am – 5pm Closed on Public Holidays Advance group booking for groups over 30 people are available on all days. By pre–booking only. Entry Fee ₹200.

Beautiful experience centre. If you’re an ardent fan of Tamil Cinema, then this place is for you. They have a wide range of vintage collection cars which were used in various movies starting from 1950s until the recent times. It does have different assets ranging from cars, bikes, cameras etc used in Cinema. Definitely worth a visit. Ticket Price: 200 per person If you’re more than a group of 30people then the fee would be 150 Per Person

This is for movie buffs and car lovers. The Fiat 1100 with Cromodora Wheels at the entrance was the best according to me. There are many vintage cars all in running condition except one. People who has more knowledge on vintage cars will surely love this experience. The garage was next to the museum where entry is restricted.

Exploring the AVM Heritage Museum proved to be an enthralling voyage through film props originating from diverse AVM productions, iconic vintage cars belonging to Mr. A. V. Meiyappan and other luminaries, and traditional film equipment. The museum's remarkable exhibits effectively showcased the myriad achievements of AVM within the film industry. Delving into the history and accomplishments of the legendary South Indian films produced by AVM, from the 1935 classic "Alli Arjuna" to the present-day movies, undoubtedly created a captivating and delightful experience for us. Thanks & Regards Kaushik S Thiyagarajan, Assistant Professor & HOD, Saveetha College of Architecture & Design.

Today they are one of the biggest production house in India is because they just value the path which they have came across which a common man can clearly admit it after visiting this place. This family has crazy car collection because can see old historic cars and latest model toy car collections which is really crazy... Cons: Felt the price is little higher.

A Gem of a museum with great collection of Vintage cars and two wheelers. Also you will get a insight on the various cinema equipments that actually went on the floor. On display are even the minute things such as sunglasses worn by various Heros of aTolliwood. Must see with Family.

Last week we've visited avm studios. We got some info abt vintage cars nd bikes nd also abt vintage cameras, editing machine etc.

I expected that the old production equipment will be kept in chronological order, but not. Also the price of Rs.200 per adult is too much. It's worth it for Rs.100. Those who would like to see old Classic cars then it's good to see.
