A visit to the Plaza de la Virgin is central to Valencia. A must see when visiting the cathedral, the square is simply a pleasure to walk around or to sit down for a drink and enjoy this less frequented corner of the city. The plaza is host to a number of bars and cafes where you can grab a something to drink at any hour of the day and soak up the atmosphere. Around the plaza they largely sell beverages and snacks. TIP: If you’re in Valencia on a Thursday, it’s a good opportunity to see one of the weekly meetings of the "Water Court of the Plain of Valencia” held at 12 noon on the right side of Gothic Door of the Apostles of the Valencia Cathedral. Declared as Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, the "Water Court" is the oldest working judicial institution in Europe.

Such an incredibly spot in a beautiful city like Valencia. It is surrounded by historic churches and has a nice fountain in the middle. I was in awe of the place and the energy around it. We visited during Christmas so it was all lit up and nicely decorated. I strongly recommend a visit to this beautiful piazza.

This is a lovely square to enjoy and walk around in Valencia. The Turia Fountain, the entrance to the Valencia Cathedral and multiple restaurants are all here. There was also free street entertainment when we visited. The house of Santiago Calatrava, a renowned Valencia architect is also visible from the square.

Was a very lovely place with lots to do and see, there are several churches and museums in the area to visit and lots of delicious restaurants near by. Was worth stopping by and checking it out. I would recommend it if you’re in the area.

A beautiful town square with plenty of stores and shops around. Only thing to do is to walk inside of the church, but that’s about it.

Plaça de la Mare de Déu, also known as Plaza de la Virgen is truly one of the more beautifull square of the old city of Valencia. You are surrounded by history: below you are the remains of the Roman Forum, on one side the cathedral of Valencia and the basilica dedicated to the Mare de Déu dels Desemparats (Our Lady of the Forsaken), opposite the Casa Vestuari with his astonishing staircase and frescos of the water court, the private house of the famous Spanish architect Calatrava and in the center the Turia fountain representing Neptune who gives Valentia his agricultural richness trough the Turia river and his eight irrigation canals represented by the eight woman statues. Enjoy it all today on one of the many terraces of this splendid placa.

Beautiful spot to take pictures. During Las Fallas festivities, the city fills a huge Virgen de los Desamparados structure covered with flowers.

Two different churches in the same square. The first is baroque style. The other one is a mix from baroque, Gothic and Roman style because it builded in different periods of time.

It's a beautiful plaza. I don't know what you're really meant to review here. It's one of the most popular tourist places in the city, so don't expect anywhere cheap nearby and it to be quite busy

Beautiful square in the old town, romantic atmosphere of warm lights in the evening. In the evening the pebbles open in a circle, fashionable to have a great time with your partner or friends. And also, they sell a toy that you can launch into the sky - a great pastime before a night stroll around Valencia

Great location and views standard food and prices are a bit more at the tourist end of the market. To be expected in this location. Service is decent. No complaints as it was pretty much as expected

Das tolle an Valencia ist, das man nur 2x um die Ecke biegen muss und schon ist man an einer neuen Plaza. Und diese bietet einen schönen Rundumblick, wenn man sich in einem Cafe für eine Erfrischung niederlässt. Toll!

It is so beautiful square, which includes the fountain. So serene and just a great place to people watch. There is a garden next to it that you can get out of the sun and rest in the shade.

Beautiful plaza where the main entrance to the cathedral is located. Lovely fountain decorates part of the square which is the heart of Valencia. Extremely popular place to visit so if you really want to appreciate it, visit early morning or during the night. Or enjoy it by sitting on the steps eating Churros & Chocolate ( typical Valencian dough sticks with Hot Chocolate) and watch the world pass by.

Plaça de la Mare de Déu, also known as Plaza de la Virgen is one of the most beautiful and emblematic squares in Valencia. It’s located in the very heart of the city in a strategic location where the Roman Forum once stood. Great fountain and really nice atmosphere there.

this is a great square to watch the world go by, admire the architecture and branch off into the surrounding alley ways and streets. Make for the city gates 5 minutes away and don’t forget the old river bed

My friend got married in the Basilica here. It was amazing. So spectacular. The cafes around the square are a little on the expensive side, but staff are attentive and speak English. The free entertainment is a bit cheesy, but nice for a holiday.

It's a beautiful square, a bit crowded but with street music and great atmosphere. It's the right place to sit down, watch the surrounding buildings and listen to music. The whole old town has a special charm, it is a must to see when you visit Valencia.
