i really wanted to give this place a great review but i have to be honest. the family is very nice and we really enjoyed the location, breakfast and nice terrace views. but our room left something to be desired. the shower was lukewarm and the wooden bed frame creaked so loudly that you heard every move during the night. one part of the window was an odd shape so it wasn’t covered by curtains and quite bright in the morning. based on the other reviews, maybe some of the other rooms were better, but it wasn’t the most comfortable place we stayed on our trip

The place is perfect, we stayed two nights there and the room was very spacious and cosy, we had a balcony with a city view. The owner was very nice, he helped us with parking a car and prepared really delicious breakfast. The breakfast was served on the terrace with a perfect view for the city, it was breathtaking time. If I come to Berat again, I will definitely will come back to this place. I already miss the hospitality and greatness of this place.

This is the place to stay when you are in Berat! The room is spacious, the shower is nice and warm and there is a very comfortable bed! I stayed for 4 nights, and the extras in the room were very welcome such as the fridge and kettle. But best of all is the family itself! You feel more than welcome! Celebrated my birthday here and couldn't wish for a better place. They ensure that you will not go hungry and the breakfast is great! I would definitely like to come back!

Great family room. Kids went in a bunkbed in a small room adjoined to ours. We had a private balcony with a beautiful view. Our private bathroom was across a corridor which was fine for us. Breakfasts were delicious - eggs, feta, bread, fruit. Location was perfect, they put our car in their garage.

Perfectly located, cosy place! This family-owned hotel has great rooms and facilities. The view over Berat is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious! So glad we decided to stay here. Very, very rude host. My husband, who is actually Albanian, and I were looking forward to returning to Albania in November and booked a room here. Unfortunately, we had to cancel our entire trip so cancelled our stay here more than a month in advance. The property has a free cancellation at any time policy. Immediately after my canceling, the owner took the time to message me on WhatsApp the following: “It was very good of you to cancel it, because we didn't want you at the price you reserved”. How incredibly rude and unprofessional, especially consider the rate I booked it for and the rate it is currently available for are exactly the same.

We spent two amazing days at Aurel. The hosts very extremely nice and helpful. They speak both English and Italian, so there's no problem with communication. The rooms are very comfortable with a view on mountains and beautiful city of Berat. The best part of our stay here was delicious, home-cooked meals. If you want to try traditional Albanian dishes, you're in a right place. We highly recommend this cosy hotel.

We had the most wonderful stay in Berat at Rezidenca Aurel - ideally located, breathtaking sights over the old and the new parts of the city, quiet surroundings and the family who hosted us was extremely nice. The breakfast with a view was also worth it! I cannot recommend enough this little gem.

Everything was Perfect! The room was very clean and very well furnished, bathroom exceeded my expectations. The room has a balcony with a great view of the mountains and the river. Owners are very frienldy and helpful and also they make a great breakfast.

We’ve got a big triple room with the best view to the city. The family is really is kind and as somebody wrote before, they really go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed. They have rich breakfast and they offer lunch and dinner as well with delicious homemade food and wine. They have parking space for the guests but only at a couple meters away, because the house is on top of a steep hill. Hence the view…

The room had a marvellous view over the city. The owners are very authentic and sweet, and they were very helpful with the parking space. The location of the hotel is nice as well, everything is in walking distance. Overall we had a very pleasant stay!

We had a really nice and quiet stay , with a very good value of money and very clean rooms , they welcomed us with joy and the staff was really nice , the explained us everything about the area and what to see around , 15 min walk to the castle and near the old city , breakfast was really tasty and with a lot of local goods , definitely going back again and definitely recommend to everyone.!!!

The hosts were very friendly and helpful, the views were spectacular. Would definitely visit again!!

Really great location and view is just amazing from the terrace. Owner is thoughtful and even helped with parking on mountain-road.
