    HORRIBLE! My flight is tomorrow, did the PCR test 48 hours ago and didnt receive nothing by email yet. 4 family members 360 EUROS ! They promised to get it in 24 hours. Nobody answering the phone. Great thing to do in my last day of vacation: chase a hospital to deliver their promised services. HORRIBLE

    Staff is polite and medical treatment is decent enough, but very unorganized, with a clear lack of comunication between the multiple members and workers. An example is when i was hospitalized here, and the doctor said for me to rest/sleep as much as possible before being operated, yet throughout the whole day various other staff members kept intruding to do the usual daily chores of cleaning the room, and wanting to make my bed (even though i was told to rest in said bed). another exmple of lack of comunication was: while i was here, everyday they sent me to do x-rays, which i should've only gone when the doctor said i needed to. more than once, said doctor acted surprised to know i went for an x-ray in a day he did not asked for. Also very expensive, and is treated more as a business than a place to help (now that i think about it, constant unscheduled x-rays were probably some way to further generate more income somehow). I was also informed that all doctors and nurses here also usually have to sign a contract that states, that they have to prescribe a minimum amount of recepies/perscriptions/treatements daily in order to reach a certain amount of daily profit.

E a consulta teve efectivamente 5 min, tudo a correr, metade das dúvidas por esclarecer. Além deste triste episódio tenho mais, mas nem vale a pena enumerar. Felizmente há outros hospitais privados para recorrer.

    We did a PCR test for travel and were assured we would get the result within 24-48 hours. We received the test result only on SMS after 60 hours (5 hours beyond our flight time) so we missed it. The actual email result came after 65 hours. Before the flight we kept calling the "permanent line" with no response. 180 euros thrown in the garbage. Once we were able to connect on the phone there was 0 empathy or help provided, all we got was "file a formal complaint if you want" Update: we filed a formal complaint on the red book and got reimbursed the money spent

    I needed a PCR test to travel, everything went smooth at hospital. They told me I would get the test results in 24h, I received them after 53 hours. I had to get a test at airport. CUF had the test result when I called them multiple times 2-4 hours before the flight but it still took them over 30h hours to email them to me. On the phone they kept telling me I would get the results "in a couple of minutes"...

    Terrible experience. I will never come back. Staff with 0 patience and understanding although you are paying an arm and a leg. If you need something, go to another hospital, not this one. Low quality, I will downgrade as much as I can to my circle.

    I’m a regular customer since overall the hospital offers a lot of health services with good availability of appointment slots. I had a rhinoplasty in this hospital last year and the surgery itself was just great but the recovery was the worst experience of my life. Aggressive nurses shoving food down my throat and threatening me with inserting a catheter to force me to pee if I didn’t do it by myself, but I just REALLY didn’t feel the need to pee. I was left alone in the room with blood running from the surgery area and flooding my chest and the bed and no one came to my “rescue” for a very long time and I couldn’t move… overall, total nightmare and I definitely do not recommend for surgeries. For walk in and walk out consultations, sure.

    Just terrible. My daughter had a medical emergency and I try to bring her to this hospital. They asked for her Portuguese ID and Portuguese address. When I’ve explained that we are tourists and therefore we cannot provide such, they simply refused to take us in. Money talks higher than life in this “hospital”

But don’t get me wrong: the public hospitals are light years better in terms of know-how of the professionals, quality of the service and so on but should only be used for emergencies] So, after a nurse assessed my condition at 13:09 (yellow bracelet), time of entrance, I waited 2 hours until I got up to leave CUF heading to the nearest private hospital in Porto. Why? Because no one checked on me up until 15:30 - suddenly a nurse said that my name “was just being called to enter the consultation room”. [Let’s remind ourselves this is a private and expensive “hospital” and supposedly I’m “lucky” to be able to afford being here] The doctor came to see me - clearly with the fakest smiles and small talk - and proceeded to ask what was going on. Some minutes later I was doing a covid test, taking some blood samples and was informed I was going to do an ultrasound. It was 16:30 when I was called for the scan. And it was 18:00 when I was discharged - they said it’s an unknown diagnosis yet with a prescription for paracetamol and a colic relief pain killer. Great! :/

    If you have insurance it’s one of the best hospitals in Porto. Expensive otherwise. A lot of people have lowered the score by complaining about COVID tests. As a regular here (due to a chronic illness) I’ve always felt like this is what a hospital should be. Is it perfect? Nope. And you should check your doctor’s credentials and maybe switch sometimes if you feel like you didn’t land the right one. Other than that I recommend it.

Enfermeira foi chamar o Medico este não me deu qualquer justificação para o atraso pediu-me desculpa e com um ar altivo disse-me que se não quisesse ser operado não era e podia ir embora. Em nenhum momento me foi pedido que ponderasse, e que o melhor seria ser operado, não, fiquei claramente convencido de que para aquelas pessoas eu ser operado ou não, era rigorosamente a mesma coisa. Cancelei de imediato o exame e dirigi-me ao Hospital de Santa Maria no Porto onde marquei exatamente o mesmo exame tendo-me sido garantido que não pagaria nem 1 cêntimo.     Generally the best hospital in Porto but still a long way to go and prices should be communicated better (more timely) Update 19/Oct/22: got prescribed a Carbohydrate deficient transferrin (CDT) exam by Antonieta Dias that cost 46,5 euros in January and costs 96 euros now. On both occasions they only informed me of the cost after taking my blood. I refused to go ahead with the test on both occasions. Wikipedia says it's mostly a test to detect alcohol abuse (I barely drink alcohol). Checked with another doctor and he said it's not necessary, so be VERY CAREFUL when visiting this hospital

    Have gone there to do the pcr test before my flight by 48 hours and still didn't get it. Still have not gotten it after 55 hours, don't even know if they realize that people need pcr to travel with less than 48 hours. Save your money and try another place.

    I've been trying to contact for about an hour to ask for informations about my mother surgery and no one answers my calls! It used to be a good hospital but since the end of 2019 it has been deteriorating its quality of service gradually. At this moment I would not recommend since there are better alternatives.

    DO NOT DO YOUR COVID PCR TEST HERE FOR TRAVEL!! 100 € for a PCR test that does not come with results in the 24-48 hour time as advertised and consulted. I was denied entry into my country because the result was not ready as CUF promised. The result came after 3 days MAKING THE TEST INVALID FOR ENTRY INTO MANY COUNTRIES. A waste of time and money!

    Whilst on holiday in Portugal I developed an eye infection in my only good 'seeing eye'. The symptoms caused me to have blurred vision and photosensitivity. I was extremely frightened of losing my sight completely. The hospital staff were very supportive and managed to get me an urgent appointments in the eye clinic with two of their ophthalmology doctors ; Paulo Silveira Rodgues & Ana Rito Pinta Barreiros. I can not say enough good things about both of these doctors. They were both extremely highly skilled, professional, efficient , compassionate and thorough. Thank you for helping to save my vision.

    It has been a month since my ginecological ecography, and the hospital still hasn´t delivered results. But the invoice yes, oh this they delivered! I had to go there physically, make a special request (sic!) and after a week still nothing. So I paid for the exam that now i cannot even access to see the results and bring them to another doctor. As far as i know, refusing the access to patient´s own health information is a crime in this country.

    My experience has been nothing but good. Friendly, sympathetic and caring doctors and staff, that in no way seem rushed or annoyed. Never met a rude or inpatient employee during many visits here. Clean and tidy establishment. Big plus for using technology (using mobile App for everything from booking consultations or exam, paying invoices and receiving exam results, all in my phone.

    Wide scope of medical areas. Prices quite high, and quite annoying that you have to wait to inform you arrive, then wait to be attended and then wait to pay and book more appointments. Additionally, if you ask for a remote consulte through videocall, it takes long time t set up and the doctor arrives late. The medical service is good and kind but very unpersonal. The place is big and clean.
