Arrived at this restaurant without any booking. I researched some good restaurants before we arrived in Nerja and missed out on this one. We have to say the food and service was perfect. We immediately booked again and are bringing all our family. We would rate this restaurant as one of the top 5 in nerja and for sure once the word goes out, booking well ahead will be essential. Thank you for a very relaxing and enjoyable experience.

Excellent service, very interesting menu, great variety of appetizers. I suggest to try their specialities: Belgian meatballs and shrimps. Make sure to visit this place once you are in town!

We tried this place on our first night in Nerja as it was just down the road from our apartment. Luckily they managed to squeeze us in as it was, and usually is from our observations, very busy. Before our starters arrived we were treated to 2 amuse bouche, a gazpacho soup and then a puy lentil dish these indicated that we had fallen lucky with our choice of restaurant. The starters arrived, Pil Pil prawns had a nice heat to them without setting your mouth on fire and the squid rings were well cooked without being rubbery and in an excellent crunchy batter. The mains that followed (Scampi in a cream/tomato sauce and The Belgian meatballs) were of the same excellent standard. Service is relaxed, friendly and efficient. The whole meal was so good that we immediately booked for a couple of nights later to have the paella (needs to be ordered in advance) this was of an equally high standard and I think we will be paying another visit before we fly home at the end of the week.

We dined here last Friday 9th as we were on holidays but we also booked it for Saturday and Sunday it was so good. It was recommended to us and the food was excellent. Homemade with beautiful presentation. Portion sizes were big. I simply can't say how much we enjoyed it. Go and see for yourself. Thank you so much for your warm welcome 🙏 and we are back in Ireland now cooking similar food. We look forward to seeing you next year.

We were driven in by a rain storm and although the place was cram packed we were met with the kindest hospitality and most delicious food we’ve had on our entire trip through the Costa del Sol, definitely the best in Nerja. It’s an intimate space with fresh food and a unique menu, you can tell they take a lot of pride in their food and service. When so many restaurants and menus blend together, José y Victoria is differentiated. If you want delicious food, attentive and kind service and a cozy atmosphere - look no further.

Spectacular food, quality and presentation. Chef and hostess/owner show pride in their work and hospitality. We felt at home having arrived from busy Barcelona - we were able to slow down and enjoy. Get out of busy square and support a small local eatery. Our best meal in Spain!

We ate at José and Victoria last night for the first time since the change of ownership having been regular visitors stretching back many years. We were therefore understandably curious about what to expect. We were not disappointed. The new incarnation is a gem. Lucrecia (Lou Lou) and her chef have given the old place a new lease of life. The interior is brighter , fresher, modern as is the Menu which reflects a rejuvenated establishment. The name remains the same and Lou Lou will explain if you ask her. All the dishes we saw served to the other diners were beautifully presented as were ours. The complimentary amuse bouche was a mushroom soup delicately flavoured, a lovely touch. The flavours, freshness and size of the salads was amazing. The goats cheese salad was outstanding. The main courses, my wife had a pork dish and I the Clam Pasta were delicious. The other diners appeared equally impressed. We had no room for desert, next time. I can understand that regulars of the original concept would be sceptical regarding the changes but I would urge that you give it a try. You will not be disappointed. I sincerely hope José and Victoria remains a much loved fixture on the Nerja restaurant scene, it deserves to be.

We came here to eat dinner. I ordered the pasta de la Casa, my husband ordered scampi and my mother the fish. Instead of the Scampi my husband was served king prawns. The fish and the prawns came with a small side salad. My husband and mother were left hungry after the meal. The house pasta was alright and had loads of prawns in it, it was also a decent portion. Unfortunately we were not told that they only take cash so had to quickly run out and get cash at the ATM when it was time to pay which charged us another 4€.

This has been one of our favorite restaurants in nerja. Run by a couple for the last 30 years , rumors of them retiring, so get here fast. Excellent Spanish food for all three courses Will definitely be back

Fantastic! Very abundant dishes and full of flavor! Even the kids pasta was brilliant! The hostess was very kind and so the rest of the staff, who played with our little girl every now and then and we were able to make one hour and a half of a brilliant dining experience (a lot for a dinner with a 1yo)! I would definitely come back!
