This monastery is probably not listed as a "top attraction" in Granada but it is definitely a "must see". The hallways are simple but very telling of the sacred religious life that is exemplified by the nuns and friars that live there. The gardens are beautiful and the religious art throughout is beautiful too. But the most impressive and surprising part is the amazing church that catches you by surprise in one of the doors that looks just like another door. The altarpieces are breathtaking and so are all the paintings and religious art found inside. Cost is 4 euros, best money spent!

The architecture of this church is amazing. It was completed in 1522. It has so many nice sculptures that I realized that I needed to learn a lot about the history of Granada and the church. I believe it’s a must see place in Granada. You need to check the open time before you go. Admission ticket is very reasonable.

Beautiful and impressive. Yet not in the same league than the cathedrals of Toledo, Cordoba, or Seville. It's still one of the main places that you must see in Granada. By the way, we couldn't succeed in buying tickets online on our mobile. Their site didn't work.

One of the most famous Jeronimous is in Lisbon maybe. However in my sight, Granada is more beautiful and many things to do inside. It also just prayer place where yhe sisters are still live, but they have many beautiful arts and special things. Garden is great. The most beautiful part is church. You will surpirse on its wonderful paintings on the ceiling and wall. I suggest you to buy combine ticket with other catholic place in Granada. That ticket is much mucb cheaper.

So I at first was REALLY annoyed with this place, as unlike the three other spots I went to earlier that day with a combined ticket, this place did NOT have free Wifi to download the app audioguide. Rather a locked network showed and the grouchy staff member claimed there was no Wifi password for me to use. My phone data wasn’t working which meant I wandered annoyed with NO info anywhere on what I was seeing. I was ready to give this place totally negative reviews as before you reach the STUNNING chapel, the rest of the rooms to visit are mediocre. But my god, the chapel. WOW. I bought a ticket under the multipass option: this, the cathedra and chapel, and another monastery, for €17.

Amazing Spanish Baroque altar not to be missed. Tickets are €4 (09/2019). Small venue that can be finished in 30 minutes but we stayed longer to fully admire the beauty of the church, also because it was raining outside. We caught the nuns doing there evensong at around 1800 on a Sunday. Unassuming from the outside and all the other rooms were simple so we were blown away when we saw the church in all of its glory. Definitely recommended.

€5 entry. The interior of the monastery itself is lackluster; dark and boring. But the interior of the chapel is highly impressive. Worth it if you’re into churches or religious history. I wouldn’t return but it was worth a visit once.

Pay the little price for ticket entrance, it absolutely deserves it. Begin your visit in counterclockwise order, going on your right when you reach the first cloister. In this way, you will live your visit like in a climax: you will think to have waste your money and your time, just to take a look to apparently valueless pictures or forniture. Then you will become aware of little details, like the tombs of the former friars, who lie just under your feet, all around the cloister. They are still there, quiet and silent. Eventually, you will reach the church and you will be hit by an explosion of colours. The church is simply incredible, you will spend some minutes with an open mouth and the head pointed to the fine decored ceiling. This was one of the best place to see in Granada, definitely.

We almost missed this hidden gem 💎. If we were to only visit one monastery or cathedral it would be this place. Great architecture and art in every room. A must see. €10 euros for two people is well worth it in my opinion.

Wonderful monastery with a fantastic church! I liked it even better than the cathedral of Granada. I haven’t seen such wonderfully decorated church since the Vatican! The altar with the bible depictions („people’s bible“), every single wall and ceiling piece beautifully painted, the inner courtyard with the orange trees, a marvel. It‘s a bit hidden in the northern part of Granada but please pay it a visit! You will regret it if not! 😉

In most cities this would score a 5 star rating, but in the city with the Alhambra it has to be relative. The monestary itself is a nice quiet visit in charming old buildings, but what really gets the score up is the beautiful church in the monestary, certainly worth a visit. It costs 4 euro per person to get it and despite having visited it in August it was not crowded at all.

The only thing worthy here is the church. Really beautiful and breathtaking. Monastery is nice but not the best I have ever seen.

One of the most beautiful churches in Europe. The admission of 5€ is worth to support world heritage. All the gold of the main altar is definitely stolen from Nuevo Mundo. Chanting nuns live in the convent.

Wonderful mix of austere monastic setting with rich baroque church interiors. As one enters, there isnt much to see -- an orange grove in the courtyard, a number of reflection rooms with spartan furniture and some interesting paintings. But the end reveals the wonderful church. 4 euros. Closed for siesta between 130pm to 4pm on weekdays.

The inside of the church looks spectacular! 1 less star as you can only tour the first floor.

Not to be missed, it is wonderful and the church is magnificent, everything in it is art.

The man on the ticket booth is totally unhelpful and the audioguide is only available via an app which you have to download and it doesn't actually open so you just have to wander around. One of the cloisters was closed, as was the upper floor. It's very plain and you wonder why you have spent 5 euros .... until you go into the main church and you are treated to an absolutely spectacular space filled with original painted walls and sculptures. It is nothing short of stupendous.

Incredible monastery that's definitely worth visiting if you're in the area. Free motorhome parking at the train station. The views are fantastic. Lots to see and food and drink available in the restaurants.

What I loved with this visit is the audio guide downloaded via a QR code just inside the entrance. I discovered so much by taking my time and listening. The city of Granada has so many hidden gems. I will return.

Absolutely stunning chapel with virtually no other visitors. Puts the Granada Cathedral to shame.

Perfect place to escape the crowd. Very peaceful. The church and the courtyard is beautiful. Not many visitors, so you can relax in the courtyard. Download the audioguide for free for explanation about the rooms.

Beautiful! We were lucky, just went to walk and came to church and there was concert of British choir, the entrance was free! Thank you very much

Came here because of the granada pass. The only place worth visiting is the chapel with the amazing ceiling and altar pieces. However the ticket man was quite unfriendly and when I asked for the toilets he said theres no toilet for visitors. We also cannot tour the seocnd floor which would have given us a good view of the orchards. Visit here if u have spare time.

Breathtaking Church interior. I've never been so awe struck by an altarpiece. Doubly impactful as I just happened upon it by chance and had the place to myself. Skip the overcrowded and overrated Alhambra and come see something of greater majesty and scale.

Not an exciting place to go. The ticket allows for visiting the pateo around the orange garden, some not-interesting rooms and the church. The church is impressive, baroque, beautiful, but there are other better options to see in Granada. I think it was ok, but a bit expensive for the price.

Worthwhile stop, you may choose a guide or not, but quite an impressive renascence showcase and burial site of the @Great Captain

Well worth visiting! We came here to kill some time before our Alhambra visit and it took us by surprised! It was absolutely beautiful and intricate inside. There weren't a lot of people inside, so we got to escape from the crowds and just enjoy the peaceful courtyard (with oranges!) Note: Visited in January 2020, but catching up reviews because of COVID.

A real surprise attraction. The church in an otherwise standard monastery is stunning.
