The Abbey of Sacromonte is well worth seeing, and it would be important to organise a tour as the location is currently being renovated and there is much work to do - so hearing the story is more important. When in Granada, make sure you walk to here from the City centre, as the route up is wonderful (as long as it isn't too hot) - the views, buildings, people, aromas of Rosemary are all part of the experience. It is exceptional to watch the sunset over the City from the Abadia, and there is a wall that you can sit on and take photographs - the warm air moves around here and it is a beautiful place, with views over the Alhambra as well. Highly recommended.

Quite hard to reach as you can only take one bus up here. But with the audio tour downloaded on your phone everything is well explained. Learned about the lifestyle of the monks living here as well as the importance of the manuscripts that were translated. Up here there is also very good views of the Alhambra from the other angle.

Was closed for work! The way up is a steep climb, but still a nice walk! There’s a bus that drives up! The view is beautiful all along the road to the mountain and Alhambra and Sacromonte neighborhood, but arriving there the building wasn’t interesting and it was disappointing finding it closed! I joined pictures from the hike up and from Abadia

Take the bus up instead of waking was much easier. Just beware of cave people who are trying to scam your money. This is one of the places where you can buy a ticket combo. It’s worth a visit.

The monastery is filled with surprises - from the gorgeous manuscripts on display to the fascinating crypts to the unexpected sculpture garden. It is well worth the short hike up the hill, and its distance from the more touristy parts of Granada give it a retreat-like feel. The guide - which you dowload in your phone in your language of choice - was informative and well done. I highly recommend visiting. Be aware that it is closed from 2:00 - 3:00 pm, and the last entry is at 1:15 before re-opening at 3:00, so time your arrival.

Pretty magical place located in the mountains. I recommend going there by a city bus. The entry costs €5. Inside there is a church, crypts and small museum. The views are also amazing

It's not just the sunset facing viewpoint of the entire city and the Alhambra that makes this a necessary journey (via bus C34) out of the main sights. The abbey and holy caves are an interesting experience by themselves and quite educational about the history of Christianity that has been refuted by the Vatican. Spent about 2 hours here before taking an easy walk downhill towards Sacromonte and the main city area.

I went today to visit the sight and had very bad experience. The sight is open until 6.15 pm and last entrance is 45 min before closing. I came at exactly 5.30 pm and lady who is working there was running at the door to close it right in front of me. Really rude of her and not professional at all. This was my only day in Granada and I will not be able to visit Abadia because of that nice lady.

You should download the app to hear the audio tour. You can visit many different locations including caves where the famous lead tablets and martyrs' remains were discovered, enter the church, walk up the driveway. There is no gift store but vending machines are inside.

It is a little bit of a walk from Plaza Nueva, but there is also the 34 bus that gets close to the location. It also offers a fantastic Mirador to see the Alhambra. Unfortunately, one cannot simply wander around the Abbey, instead, there are hour-long guided tours. For the English version, they start at 1:30 PM.

This stunning abbey can be reached by the #34 bus and that ride itself offers great views of the city, the Alhambra and the surrounding countryside. The Abbey itself is a wonderful piece of work. The cloisters, chapel and chapter room are open for viewing and there is a wonderful display of the history of the site. Well worth the visit.

I loved this place for the amazing, stunning, astonishing views of La Alhambra with the great sunset. Definitely a must go place. Parking was easy but don't expect coffee shops or any shops around.

Take the time (and a taxi or the bus line Centro-Sacramento) to visit, indispensable to the history of Christianity. Important collection of art and documents. Higher and across the gorge-valley from Alhambra, you can see the Sierra Nevada, The views are incredible from here.

Very easy to walk to from the Albaicin. The views are incredible. Costs 6euro and you can pay by card. I recommend that you download the app and then use the numbered locations around the abbey to learn about the history. If you enjoy learning about local art, check out the bronze sculptures in the garden. They are very unusual.

The Sacromonte Abbey was not easy for us to reach on foot. We took the C34 bus, which fortunately ran rather frequently. We arrived at 13:18, and a lady was already at the door preparing to close it for the 14:00-15:00 break. Luckily, she let us in before closing. Unfortunately, the couple behind us walked straight to the viewing point and missed the entrance. We were advised by the lady to start at Point #15 and visit the holy caves first, listening to the audio at home (???), as we wouldn't have enough time. We found the advice a bit odd and pondered how we could understand what we were seeing without the audio guide. The abbey was quite interesting and modestly constructed, which perhaps reflected the monks' lifestyle. The holy caves were pretty interesting and special. However, we did not feel that there was a lot to see for €6. The view of the Alhambra in the distance was nice, but it would have been nicer if it had been less sunny - an external factor. I would have given a 4-star rating if the service at the ticket desk was more professional.

Interesting place, especially the caves. Nice application for your phone that gives you a guided tour of the place in many languages. Maybe spend an hour hear, no more than that!

Interesting tour, paintings, sculptures, chapels. Also, documentary and artistic pieces from the Abbey's heritage. Las Santas Cuevas (Holy Caves) are a must see!

Lovely Abbey to visit. Recommend to download guide on phone before attending. Make sure to take headphones. Caught a taxi from tourist area and then walked back - was enjoyable.

We climed the steep road up to find that the monastery was closed, even though it should be opened according to their opening hours on google. Very disappointing

The site is under rehabilitation. Visitors can only see a small portion of the whole Abbey. My rating is because I didn't see in any place a warning signal that indicates that. It's a long way up and when I arrived they were closed for lunch and had to wait in a very hot day.

One of the best historical tours I have been involved in. What a lovely, and peaceful place. We went out of season, might be busier in the summer!

If you want to see something unique in Granada without the usual crowds the Abbey is a great spot full of religious history and art.

Short tour. Was not worth the walk here. You need to download the app to have an audio tour unfortunately this took over 15 minutes and failed on all our devices do to the inadequate wifi. There was no cell signal here. Maybe download the guided audio tour before your visit. Again it is not much of a tour.

All that's worth to see over here is accessible for free and would get 10 stars from me. I visit as many historical places as I can and happy to pay for a ticket/to donate. And it's difficult to disappoint me or to regret. But this place managed to do so: nothing to see inside. The only highlights are a few 17th century books and paintings. Plus very rude staff, who understands no word of English, likes to talk loud and doesn't know their own visiting rules. To see a very beautiful place and to not to be disturbed by the rudeness, I highly recommend the less popular Monasterio de San Jeronimo - only 4 € and it's mindblowing.

Sorry, but nothing special for a non-believer. Some interesting books in the museum. Sacred caves are a curiosity.
