Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Food selection was good and everything tasted fresh and delicious. Well definitely be returning!

Tomato Cafe was awesome! I love that place! They are in a new location, about four blocks from the previous restaurant. And the new restaurant has the look and feel of their original place on Academy. If you haven't been lately, you need to go. The food is delicious, the people are great. I believe the new was probably the previous manager. I've seen him there for years. So, there's a lot of continuity there. If I could say only one thing about my experience, it would be that they seem to have returned to their roots. The restaurant layout is very close to the original layout, the menu is the same, and the food is still just as delicious as it was 20 years ago. Go check it out!

I recently dined at Tomato Cafe, an Italian buffet restaurant, and was blown away by the variety of delicious food on offer. The restaurant offers an extensive selection of pasta dishes, pizzas, and a vegetarian posole that is simply out of this world. What impressed me the most was the affordability of the food. Despite the large selection and high quality of the dishes, the prices were very reasonable. This made it possible for me to try a bit of everything, without breaking the bank. In conclusion, I highly recommend Tomato Cafe to anyone looking for a great Italian buffet experience. The food is delicious, the prices are reasonable.

Food is still excellent in 2022! I’ve been coming here since I was a kid, and they have consistently delivered amazing, delicious food with friendly service year after year after year. The pandemic has caused so many restaurants to go downhill, but somehow Tomato Cafe has managed to keep doing what they’ve always done — serving up amazing pasta, pizza, and salads and doing it with a smile. Bravo!

This is one of my mom's favorite places to go because it's right around the corner from her house and she goes here a lot. We went here on Wednesday September 14th 2022. They set us we ordered our beers and water and proceeded to get our food (my mom has Alzheimer's). I got two wedges of tomatoes and about 5 cucumber slices. As we went through the line my mom said that she did feel like eating that kind of food and wanted to go somewhere else to eat Spanish food. So I told the waitress and she brought me my check. I figured since we didn't really get anything to eat that they wouldn't charge us for the full meal. When they brought me the ticket she charged a full meal so I talked to the manager and she was really rude and said she couldn't change the price. I explained the situation to her about my mom but she didn't seem to care and told me that she couldn't help me or lower the price. I had to pay a full price for too lousy pieces of tomatoes and five lousy pieces of cucumbers. Needless to say we will not be back to this place ever again to eat. My mom even said not to leave the waitress a tip but I did leave her something because she did serve us our drinks that's how upset my mom was. Hope you treat your customer better than that in the future but we will not the customers to you anymore. A good manager would have cut the price in half and understood the situation. I know I've been manager before and ran into a lot of situations and it's real easy to make an exception. I give a big F grade to managerial skills for the girl with the purple hair.

First experience, and a very good one. The place is clean and airy. The food is basically buffet style. The spread and choices are decent. The soups, specially the Posole, is awesome. I was served by Leni, who is very attentive and hardworking.

Went in for a quick bite, just the posole. However it's a buffet, so I pulled open my laptop, participated in a Zoom meeting, and did other business online. All while, enjoying the buffet- a little at a time. Server was super friendly and patient. I was grateful that many sauces and dressings were labeled GF. I would have LOVED to have had the option for GF pizza and pizza bread...

Great pizza buffet! Not a huge selection, but this is actually probably a strength because what they do, they do well, and there still is a good variety. Good food and great service. Nice clean atmosphere.

Ok the reason for this low rating is simple. They mixed up my ticket with the second party that joined us. Idk how this mix up happened but it did. Another thing that was off putting is that their menu said free refills but that didn't seem to be true. They charged almost $15 for all my refills but their menu says the refills are free. The food was good overall but everything else was just ridiculous. Idk if I'll be returning.

I seen this place on google for one of the top 10 buffet in Albuqurque So me and my son and grandson decided to go try it out for are first time it was a late dinner didn’t have a chance to try all the pizza that was serving because I can’t eat pizza with red sauce but I tryed there veggie pizza and it was so delicious I was looking for the cauliflower crust pizza but it wasn’t out but that’s ok because I am planning on coming back again soon and are waiter he was very friendly I think his name was lances the only thing that I could say is he was that I didn’t like was that it was very cold in there my food got cold fast and I do wish they had raviolis with spinach n cheese with out sauce

I enjoyed the experience. A good place to go for a quick Italian meal. The food is better quality than I expected.

First time here and loved everything. It’s fresh and just delicious and staff was amazing. They had a vegetarian pozole that was delicious and the items in the salad bar were crisp and wonderful.

Outstanding customer service; attentive in just the right way - drinks always full, dishes cleared timely, friendly servers and manager. The garlic green beans and meatballs are amazing!

Great value for really good pizza, salad, and pasta! They keep it simple and that’s what makes it consistently great for being a local pizza buffet! Highly recommend!

Both my husband and I threw up after leaving the restaurant. Buffets seem to Always do that to us. We are older so maybe just sensitive stomachs. Food was fair. Not a lot to choose from.

Food generally okay; nothing exceptional. Pleased with the staff. I was surprised I liked the posole since I've had some awesome posole in the recent past. Super basic salad options, but seemed fresh and the ingredients crisp. The music and decor was nice. My favorite part was the ice cream was dairy-free, so I only needed one lactase enzyme for my meal.
