Japanese Gardens

Garden

👍👍 They are still lovely in the winter, but the pond steams and seems to have stagnant water. Sadly, the season prevents us from appreciating the garden's full grandeur, but it is still a lovely location with many of koi fish and a lovely waterfall. We're hoping to return in the summer.

Beautiful garden. Very popular for weddings. It was built in cooperation with Albuquerque's sister city Sasebo, Japan. The large stone lanterns decorate the walkway and garden. The stones are raked as a zen garden.

Lovely any time of year, but particularly nice now with vibrant fall colors. But bring mosquito repellent-- they're out in force early and late in the day.

Beautiful garden with ponds and waterfalls! It's so peaceful and well kept. One of my favorite places to go clear my mind or visit with our family.

Beautiful part of the botanical gardens. I've gone to the gardens a couple times and didn't know this was even here but it's the best part

They are beautiful even in winter but the pond steams looks like the water it's stagnated, we can't appreciate the full splendor of the garden due to the season but even though it's a beautiful place, there's a lot of koi fishes and the waterfall it's pretty. Hopefully we can go back in the summer.

We loves the Japanese Gardens within the Biopark. Make sure to bring your bug spray if you visit in the summer!

Such a peaceful place. Ive been to others and this was a great experience. If you have not gone, please make sure you do. The fish come up to you if you are standing there.

I spent time with my Mom and my son at the Bio Park today and enjoyed the koi fishes. There is your typical koi fish, with the short fin. There are some koi fishes that have fancy fins, they are called "Butterfly Koi". There is actually 20+ breeds of the koi fish.

If you go to the Albuquerque Botanical Gardens and go all the way to the very back you may find the Japanese Garden. Most people don’t make it that far so it’s very peaceful. There are some nice ponds.

Just go you won't regret it! Go for an afternoon stroll, go for lunch, take a picnic and the kids; it's great for all kinds of occasions! Such a beautiful place and friendly people!

A highlight of the Bio Park and botanical gardens, the Japanese Gardens have an impressive lake, several sitting areas, and an accessible viewing platform with several small path options. A nice spot to stop and relax.

Garden is beautiful, it is so relaxing walking thru all vegetation, this last time we visited it on April so it was not as green as it gets during summer so I recommend visiting it during that season if you want to admire all the trees, flowers and vegetation.

We enjoy a leisurely stroll thru the park. Good for handicapped access. Recommend purchasing tickets on line. They are typically understaffed at the ticket booths. Very good personal once inside.
