The Los Alamos Canyon Reservoir is a great spot to hang out and relax on a sunny summer day. The hike/walk up to the lake takes about 20-30minutes on a rather flat trail -- however, the condition of the trail is pretty bad (has been washed out, so be careful).

Stocked with trout from the 7 springs hatchery, this is a fun hike with opportunities for the novice angler. Maybe they will allow vehicles in the future, but for now you're expected to park at the entrance and enjoy a mild hike up the canyon.

Nice hike uphill from the road, park at the ice skating rink to keep from blocking the road or gate. Small reservoir with beach at the top end and a tree swing, trail continues up towards Quemazon.

Great walk, half untraveled dirt road (for dam maintainance), the rest well marked path. For a longer walk you can make it all the way up to the ski hill and perhaps take the pipeline road back down.

Nice to have a water hole to cool off in during the summer.
