This was a pleasant surprise. We were here primarily to see the site of the Battle of Glorietta Pass, which is administered by Pecos NHP. While here we took to the trail to look at the Pueblo ruins and what is left of the Spanish built Catholic church. I found it fascinating, and my wife, not a history buff like me, also found it very interesting. If you like history, this is a must-see stop.

Enjoyed visiting the thoughtful and well organized exhibits. Appreciated the exhibits had included items to touch and feel. Excellent orientation film. Well stocked gift shop. Pets are not allowed. Nice shaded picnic area adjacent to visitors center. Trail loop of 1 1/4 miles leaves from visitors center and goes through ruins.

This park is beautiful, and the ruins are very interesting. The views on the trail are spectacular! I love that, while walking on the trail, there are little direction signs and information posts that represent what happened to the people here, and a slight look into their lives. The Visitors Center offers a free short movie, and a few artifacts inside to look and read about. It also has a great selection of items and souvenirs to look at and purchase. The bathrooms were also tidy. The rangers are really nice and very helpful. We will come back again to bring our family.

I got there a little late, but the ladies at the counter were so nice! The video shown when I visited seemed a little outdated, but the exhibits were still very interesting. Actually walking through the monument was awesome. Gorgeous views and so incredible/humbling to walk through this piece of history. I'm a novice hiker but the paths were easily walkable for me. I ran out of time so I didn't get to walk the full park but I can't wait to go again and explore more!

Beautifully restored pueblo, the trails were easy to walk. The new museum was informational and had lots of beautiful artifacts. Thanks!

Area with an ancient history as a trading post even before the Spaniards ever arrived. Pueblo existed until the 1800s when the last residence moved to Pueblo Jimenez. Incredible history

Lots to see, and learn about at the park. Take the full trail to see everything. Store closes at 4 pm, and the park is at 430p. We enjoyed it!

Amazing experience and lots to see. It's amazing to see what humans were able to build centuries ago. I would not recommend it for small children or sulky teens. Teens who love history, absolutely!

This park is a great example of what a free public historical park can be. The welcome center museum does an excellent job of giving context to the park and the history of the people that passed through and lived on the land the park sits on as well as the struggles of the natives that first constructed the buildings. My wife and I had a great time learning about the history and getting to walk through the remains in spite of the frigid late-afternoon December wind. The workers in the building were friendly and gladly explained how to see everything in the park and even let us borrow a map that explained all the important marked points throughout the site.

A little out of the way but super worth it, especially in late fall/early winter when we went! The path to the temple/church was cleared of snow and it is one of the nicest most peaceful walks to it- short too. You get to learn of an early native American settlement and walk where they walked! It's free too!

Very awesome place. Take the kids and go walk around and adventure thru pecos history. I recommend taking the guided tour with Ranger Lambert.

The remnants of the church and the convento are solemn reminders of the decimation of the original people who lived in this site many thousand of years before the arrival of Europeans. The remnants of the original inhabitants kiva shows a degree of syncretism with Catholicism. Haunting and disturbing yet important to visit to remember the ancient ancestors.
