Not a lot of vegan options. No tofu scramble anymore. We ordered Vegan Street Tacos, but they were not available. The server suggested a Buddha bowl with tofu, which was filling (brown rice, veggies, edamame, and tofu) but lacked real taste (mostly soy sauce). Nice to sit on the patio on a Sunday morning though.

The very best way to celebrate capitalism and make millions from unsuspecting customers, is to present what looks to be fine pastries. The real mind bender comes when you understand the importance here of using the cheapest white flour and white sugar and then charging exorbitant prices for tiny portions of a dessert. Yes you have been fooling the public for many years. Sadly, my friends wanted to eat here. The salads aren't bad. Some entrees are worth the wait. But the bottom line is your own health. Stay informed!

When we arrived there was a line waiting to order. You have to seat yourself at the cafe. The seating outside if you want to bring your dog. Our visit started out on a negative note. A woman come to our table who I can only assume is the manager as she did not identify herself. Asked if I was videotaping "her employees". I answered no and then in a even Sterner voice she asked me the same question again, to which I answered no again. Service was horrible! Rather loud inside the restaurant. There was a woman next to us who completely exposed herself I thought she was going to feed her child, but never did and finally put it away. Then the next thing I saw her do was sniff her child's rear end and then put her hand in that area smelled it and then actually stuck her tongue to the fingers she used. Never saw the manager visit her table! Food was good, however I will never go in there again!

Great place. Had the breakfast sandwich and French toast. The biscuit was amazing and homemade. The French toast was great and syrup is homemade.

Brace yourselves my friends. At first glance, The Flying Star may seem like every other gentrified breakfast joint but I assure you it is a "Time and Relative Dimension in Space" machine that will take you to untold dimensions of scrumptious mouth feels. The quality of food is consistent and the service is always friendly. Another bonus is the option to drown myself in that beloved coffee from Satellite. If I could eat the Southwest Bennie every morning for breakfast until my cardiovascular system collapsed inward on itself like a dying star, I would. I suppose it's safe to say that I like the Flying Star a lot. My return is inevitable.

We love Flying Star! This one is located off Rio Grande and there’s lots of outside parking for bikes and cars. 🚴 Food is always fresh and good. Free coffee refills too. ☕️

Just your run of the mill quintessential New Mexican fast casual place. Not entirely authentic, but a homegrown New Mexican spot. This location might be the best one due to its location in the Valley, but you always know what you’re getting when you eat at a Flying Star. Above quality diner food with a bit of New Mexican flare.

Really good place and have a variety of choices. There was a hair in my pie and was just asking for another one but instead they comped my pie and gave me a new piece. The food is good and the service is great

I had a Buddha Bowl and it was a fabulous mélange of beautifully cooked rice topped with chopped chicken pieces that were juicy and tender on the inside and crispy crunchy on the outside, along with gorgeous veg and crispy strips. The sauce was subtle but delicious. The ONLY complaints I have is that they don't take the spines out of the pea pods AND the pieces of veg are way way way too big. I'll ask for a sharp knife the next time, so I can cut those pieces down to bite size. My friend and I brought our dogs and we sat outside under the trees. Even though it was a hot day, the shade provided by trees was plenty to take the temps down quite a bit. I just love this restaurant.

Flying Star has been a staple in ABQ for years and the quality is as good as ever. Their turkey jack sandwich is near perfection and combined with their delicious fresh brewed iced tea it's one of my all time favorite meals! The deserts are excellent as well, can't go wrong with any of them. A little pricey, but worth it for a special treat.

Recently visited Flying Star on Rio Grande and Griegos. Food was fine, if a bit pricy. Parking was hard to find. They have expanded their patio near the street and parking lot, which means more outdoor seating but not much shade or quiet. We were not given any utensils or condiments for the burger, but it was extremely busy and staff seemed overwhelmed, so i hunted them down myself. I've been going to Flying Star for a long time (since it was the Double Rainbow), but not often as the quality of the food and value does not seem as good as it used to be.

This is one of my favorite flying star locations. It's a beautiful building with a shaded patio for outdoor seating. Parking can be difficult when it is really busy, but I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. The food is always delicious and the staff are very friendly. The Mexican latte is my favorite!

Very nice location. I had the breakfast burrito for dinner and it was a huge burrito and freshly made. It is a little pricey here, almost $4 for a cup of coffee, but the food quality and portions match the price. If you want to eat a little cheaper go to Frontier, but you're just going to save a couple bucks and you won't get to sit in a beautiful outdoor patio. This Flying Star location is nice and spacious both indoor and outdoor and the outdoor patio is worth the extra couple of bucks. The North Valley might be the best area of ABQ if you like a little nature with your coffee and breakfast.

It was good but kinda pricey for what you get. I might try dinner but won’t do breakfast again. Overall I’d give my experience a 3.6 out of 5.

Have loved their fish tacos for years. Simply the best!! But have found that the portion of 3 just too much for my husband and me, senior citizens. In the past year – on several occasions we have asked (Rio Grande location) if we could add a taco to the plate of 3 – and split 2 – 2. Cashiers, cooks, waiters more than happy to do this – plating for 2, as we sung praises for the flexibility and friendliness of a locally- owned restaurant . And then – Sat the 15th - we anticipated our usual 4 taco order. Cashier said great and we awaited our food – which came as 2 tacos on one plate and 1 on the other. Much discussion – bottom line – manager ( a new one?) said the plate comes with 3. Period. Disappointed – do they think this makes them lose money? A slight surcharge for the extra plating could more than compensate for the “trouble”. Thinking to try a different location, with different manager? VERY disappointed. Very.

This was a wonderful stop for us. I personally had the French dip and it was wonderful. The cheese was melted to perfection. The portion was more than enough and the aus jus was to die for. Also for a wonderful mix of sweet and tart..try the strawberry lemonade

Just okay, so far. I’ve been a few times and most of the time when I’ve gone at lunch I’ve had my heart set on one menu item only to learn after a 10-15 min line wait that they are sold out of that item. Maybe some menu magnets would help so customers can know what’s available? It would be awesome if they brewed black or green iced tea- it’s only been peach flavored lately. I’ll be coming back simply for the variety, location conscience and setting, but I hope the menu options and food improve as I wasn’t impressed for the cost. It’s a good spot to go with a family and the outdoor seating is nice. Friendly staff and overall good vibe.

Edited my review- There are outlets, I must have missed them. I will be going back in! I really appreciate the business taking time to respond to my review! Original review- I really wanted make this a regular place to enjoy lunch, coffee and get some work done but I didn’t see any outlets. If you don’t mind that then it’s a perfect place to grab a bite to eat.

Eclairs are to die for. The baked goods rock. Clientele and workers can be a tad condescending - but waddaya gonna do? (Console yourself with baked goods and yummy coffee.)

I love this place, the patio is amazing, you can go to have good food and relax at the same time. You can enjoy a great breakfast, brunch with mimosas, lunch, and dinner. Anytime of the day!! If you love desserts 🍨 🥧 here is the best place.

Very nice atmosphere in this location. Food was good and fairly quick. It's quiet and calm in the patio area. I went on a Saturday afternoon and was still not overwhelmed by a crowd of people. There is also some great shops nearby, including a bookstore right next door!

I have been eating at Flying Star since I was a kid. The food, desserts and baked goods are so delicious. The customer service is excellent and they also have wonderful coffee drinks. One of my favorite restaurants in town.

I love this location because of its vicinity to the cute little shops in the plaza. Especially the bookstore that is right there! Super cute. The food is as good as any of its other locations. However, the two drawbacks I would say are the parking and the inside is too small. Not too much to be done about that! But if you’re not in the mood to be crowded and possibly have difficulty parking I’d pick a different location for the day.

Love the selection of fresh breakfast items. The oatmeal was creamy and came with a side of oat milk and nuts and berries. Just the right size. My Mexican coffee was delightful as usual I had it iced and don’t forget to use a straw so you can stir and every bit of chocolate that’s at the bottom

I stopped for food around 5 pm Sunday night, never having been here or done curbside pickup. The ordering on my phone went easily, food time was 30 minutes. Only confusion was not knowing I had to call since I told them I was there?! Got a free dessert- delicious turtle cheesecake! No mistakes in a larger order. Food was really good, packaged well. I would ( and will) go again! My cod sandwich was really good! Onion rings are amazing!

One star because the desserts are delicious. Minus four stars because the employee was rude. Unfortunately I've been encountering poor counter service from Flying Star at length. This morning, 10 am, Rio Grande location was no different. The young woman helping us seemed to be inconvenienced at having to do her job and be pleasant. Maybe she wasn't having a good day. Regardless, we still tipped her. I'm finding myself less and less interested at patronizing this business.

2nd time I’ve gotten half a dessert. They’re not cheap. Edit: They made amends. Thank you

We ate here with our dogs on the 'petio'. Ordered the Posole Verde, Vegan Street Tacos, and mini Mac (voted best of ABQ per menu). Food was quite good, especially the Mac and cheese which was absolutely delicious. Price quite good for portions.

Outdoor dog-friendly dining by the fireplace?! Amazing. Stopped here for breakfast and had amazing biscuit sandwiches. The nicest guy made us a fire and gave our dogs water and way too many treats. What a gem.
