Great Breakfast spot. Other reviews were spot on. Chicken Fried Steak was fantastic. French toast delicious. Very crowded for a Monday AM. Service friendly and fast. Most important question - Would I go back - unequivocally YES!

The staff is friendly and welcoming and our waitress was delightful. We have been here a few times and the food is as always, delicious, with large portions. Highly recommended.

Awesome home cooking! YUMMY food! Enormous, flavorful chicken fried steak, in-house mashed potatoes and side salad (served after meal) was plentiful. Chicken fried chicken, also huge, tender and pintos spot on. 100% visit Vic's Daily! Service was inattentive, distracted but very friendly. Food 5 stars (-1 for service)

Great little restaurant with huge meals! Count on sharing! The #3 breakfast chicken fried steak is enough to feed 4! But if course 2 of us managed to finish it off somehow 😆 Oh and the pecan Belgian waffle is really good too! Great service, prices!

The vaquero breakfast (chicken fried steak smothered in green chile) is massive and really good. Food and service were great!

Outstanding breakfast diner! The place is just across the street from one of the largest mega churches in Albuquerque so you know that there's going to be a long way on the weekends. This was my first time trying the place after seeing it for years while visiting friends who live in the neighborhood. I highly recommend the vaquero chicken-fried steak plate. I think it's one of the few diner chicken-fried steaks I've had where you get the impression that they really tenderized the cube steak in house! The biscuits are handmade and the coffee was a great quality. Excellent wait staff. Again expect a 25 minute wait but it's worth it!

Awesome food, the chicken fried steak is big enough for two people! Ask about the serving sizes before committing! Service was great, even though the place was crowded. Expect about a 45 minute wait on Sundays. Well worth the wait.

Tried it for the first time. Waited 30 min to be seated. Patio was perfect not too hot. Service was quick, efficient, and friendly. Food was hot when it reached us in the patio. Drinks kept full by our waitress. Chicken fried steak was delicious! The gyro was my favorite! Well portioned out for the price. Definitely coming back and our new favorite go too restaurant!

Great restaurant, wait was about 45-55 min, but we planned ahead. Leave your phone number up front, and wait in the car worked great! I was told to try the chicken fried steak, as it was supposedly great. But it ended up being pretty normal, typical frozen cube steak. I expect a bit more as I'm from Texas. Needs to be fresh, and tenderized on the spot. French toast was good, as was the strudel that we are as appetizer.

Delicious breakfast!!! Casual and comfortable with food that surpassed my expectations. The desserts looked amazing but I just didn’t have room. The icing on the cake was seeing the hot air balloons from our table.

Went to Vic's daily today after many people saying how good it was. The portions were good and service was great but the food was a little bland. I got biscuits and gravy (which was the most bland), cornbread hash ( which was really really good) and the other two people got chicken fried steak. Big portions of chicken fried steaks but a bit lacking in flavor. It was good, I'd probably give it another shot.

Had the biscuits and gravy, it was good. The place was full and still they were able to bring out my food within 2 minutes. Staff were friendly, good atmosphere.

Great food, great atmosphere, very pleasant staff. Very very busy. Try the chicken fried steak, and for sure get you some beans with red chile.

I had to install some new equipment at one of our customers sites here in Albuquerque and although a friend recommended one place, the locals at the customer site suggested Vic’s. So I went with the locals. The food was perfect, freshly made, plentiful portions. I was stuffed but was thinking about dessert. My server Brenda brought me a small bowl with a sample of Green Chile Chicken Stew. It was awesome as well. I figured I had better stop there. Dessert options sounded good but they were out of the one I really would have suffered for, banana cream pie. Next trip perhaps.

Homespun feel, quality food! Vic's daily Cafe was at just what I hoped for, a local diner with a delightful Homespun feel, but with professional high quality food. I got eggs benedict oh, and my wife had almond crusted French toast with a lemon curd. Both were fantastic! See photos below. They were busy, but they have enough space that they could seat us in a very reasonable amount of time. I think we may have waited 5 or 10 minutes. Considering that they had a lot of traffic at that time, they did a great job of getting us to a table. Our waitress was very cheerful, very helpful, and seemed genuinely excited to see us there. That was nice. It made us feel right at home. The eggs Benedict was a delight. It had a thick slice of ham instead of Canadian bacon which I like. Also, the eggs were poached pretty well, if only slightly overdone. That didn't detract from the meal at all. They also have a crab benedict that seems to be the favorite for this restaurant. I wanted to try the classic, and I'm glad I did. It's one of my favorites. And, they did a great job of it. It was a real winner. My wife got almond crusted French toast with lemon curd, and it was inspired. Covered in fresh fruits, this French toast didn't need any syrup and had a light dusting of powdered sugar to add a little sweetness. It went well with the tart sweet lemon curd that was in the center of the plate. Of course, there was coffee. It was good. I'd say it was diner coffee as opposed to Coffee House Coffee, but I drink 3 cups of it. It was exactly what I needed to pair with this meal. I mentioned wait staff already, but I'll talk about them again. Everyone I interacted with was extremely polite, and seemed genuinely interested in making sure that I had a great meal. I can't wait to go back! I'd like to bring my adult children and have a multi-family breakfast, or brunch there soon. Next time I go back, I'd like to try the corn beef hash. That's another classic that seems to be one of this restaurants go to meals. We also saw several people order chicken fried steak and eggs. That looked so good! I'd love to try that. And we saw a lot of people order what I think was Navajo rancheros. It looks like huevos rancheros, but instead of tortillas it was on fry bread. I don't think you could strike out with any of these meals. Five stars for Vic's!

It can get busy here, but they are efficient and keep everything moving. Servings here are huge. Bring an appetite. Food was hot and good. Servers were on top of everything and friendly. Would recommend if you want breakfast.

The food was delicious and even though it was busy the food came out quick and hot I would come back to this place next time I come to town the front area was cool looking and homey.

I really enjoy coming to this place, the food and service is always so good and friendly. I think the only thing I would change is the wait before your seated and more parking. I ordered the "BigDaddy" chicken fried steak plate came with veggies, Texas toast, and your choice of potato. Yumm

We were just in town overnight but wanted a good, home made type of breakfast before we continued our trip. Vic's did not disappoint. It was around 10 AM on a Monday and the place was packed! The food was PERFECT - just what we ordered! The menu looked incredible and one day I hope to go back and try some other things! Service was great; we never had to wait for anything. Prices were very reasonable, too! I highly recommend this place.

Diner style eatery with standard breakfast and lunch fare at reasonable prices. We found ourselves in a part of town not usual for us and this place looked great and had a huge crowd. Wait for seating was short, but the wait for food was not. Coffee and a nice waitress helped. This is probably the new normal as food service remains an unappealing job. Nice size portions and outstanding ham. Toast was almost burned.

This is a hidden gem! It's in an office park and I almost drove right by but so glad I went in! Was meeting a friend here for breakfast and it was busy and they were serving customers quickly and efficiently. Our server got our drinks out and took our order. I got the French toast breakfast and it came with 2 pieces of french toast and 4 pieces of thick cut bacon that tasted delicious! My eggs came out just as ordered and our waiter kept our glasses full. We did not feel rushed and I was happy to see so many tables full. Our server also offered to-go drinks as we were paying which was nice as I was going to be driving a while. I took half of my plate in a box and my friend enjoyed her omelet with hash browns and biscuits. She took half hers home too! Nice portions for the price.

This is what we all had, it was so good, reasonable and fresh. Will definitely come back from Texas again and make it a point to go back there and eat. The staff was good and took great care of us.

I wish I could say the entire menu is as great as #3, the Vaqueros, but that is so good, it's the only thing I've ever ordered because it's perfect, just like the staff!

This one of my favorite restaurants in ABQ for breakfast/lunch! The food is full of flavor and the portions are very large! My only issue is the service, it is truly hit or miss. The vacaros chicken fried steak is one of my favorite meals, but today we had chili rellenos and they were amazing… Today, our service was less than mediocre. Our server only checked on us once after our food was dropped off and she left the check. I needed to place a to go order and she seemed irritated because she had to take the check back to make the adjustments. She never offered refills on our drinks and kept touching her hair the entire time.

We went in a a busy Sunday morning. 30min. Wait. I got the classic 2 eggs, bacon and Belgian waffles and ordered a side of hash browns.Everything was pretty average. Except the Belgian waffles those were really good. Service was excellent and friendly.
