Extremely disappointed with the customer service. We stayed for two nights extended our stay one night so the kids to swim. Our last day housekeeping came in at 8am with checkout time being 11 walked into our room as my kids were getting into the shower. Completely unacceptable and a violation of privacy. The pool was closed was told it would be open at 11am then at 2pm and then 5pm. I was communicated that we would be able to stay one more night due to the inconvenience the front desk even confirmed and called our room to get more information. There was a miscommunication with Tyler and Holly the front desk manager. I have never experienced such poor customer service from a manager. The employees were great and extremely apologetic for our issues. Our entire stay the air conditioning was not working they sent someone up three times in our two day stay and it was not resolved. I highly recommend if Holly is going to continue as a manager to have more training in customer service she blatantly lied about being next to the employee that was doing his best to reconcile the situation. I recorded our conversations and will be sending to the general manager so hopefully she can get the training she needs to be able to handle situations in a more respectful and professional manner.

Oh my goodness where should I start? This was one of the most awful experiences I’ve ever had in a hotel. The air conditioning did not work right. It was set at 60° and never got cool in the room. The elevator banks were broken it took forever to get up and down. They had a false alarm at 1 AM on one day, and no one ever contacted us to let us know that it was safe. We never had maid service except once in four days. The restaurant food was marginal at best. If I am ever in Albuquerque again, I will never stay at this place. Marriott should be embarrassed to have their name on this hotel.

This is no longer my hotel of choice when in Albuquerque. The hotel is in need of a serious remodel. I was put on the west side of the hotel and the rooms are even more outdated than on the east side of the hotel. The room was clean though. Upon checking in I was told they now charge $10 for parking "is that okay?" No, that's not okay. I've never been charged for parking in your more than ample parking lot. This charge is even for Bonvoy members. So now, I have to traipse back to my car to put the parking permit in my car. Side note, this is not a downtown hotel where parking is limited and you're likely to be charged a parking fee. The AC in the room was not working properly. I had it at 65 and the room never got cold. I thought it was just the extreme heat, but read reviews once I got home and saw the entire hotel AC went out about 5 days before I got there. Clearly, it's still struggling to cool the rooms. This hotel has 2 elevators. One was broken. One elevator for a hotel this size is not good. Someone in the elevator said it had been broken for awhile. So the wait for the elevator was just awful and you stop at every floor whether you're going up or down. Next time I'll stay down the road for $20 more a night and get no parking fee, free buffet dinner, soft drinks and coffee 24 hours a day, and a buffet breakfast. It's worth the $20. Time to update this hotel Marriott.

We stayed for one night and we loved it. The room was comfortable and suited our family of 5. Breakfast was great and we loved the selection. The common area is very welcoming and comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our kids enjoyed the pool just said it was a little cold. A hot tub would've been awesome. We will definitely stay again if we're in the area.

If you’re looking for modern , minimalist, white decor, this is not your place. Think homey, comfortable and familiar and this is your spot. Check-in is delightful thanks to Drew at the front desk who welcomes everyone as family. He is professional, personable and very knowledgeable! I would give this hotel a five star rating but checkout was a different experience. I tried to pay on a credit card but it went on points instead. I tried to get it changed but the women on duty said it couldn’t be done without her managers approval. She took my number and said she would call me but I never heard back. I did call later and spoke to a manager who then referred me to someone else who wasn’t very helpful.

Love this hotel. Staff is great! Lounge is amazing! Even tho it’s an older hotel it is a wonderful place to stay! I would recommend it to anyone. Only concern is the fridges in the lounge are not cold at all. There is milk in there for the breakfast. The fridge in my room is much much colder

This hotel has poorly trained staff who are not helpful. I travel regularly and am usually treated well by hotel staff. The staff at Marriott Pyramid North are not trained to serve customers but to maximize profits without attention to customer needs. Since I travel a lot, I usually get positive, helpful people who do their best to accommodate customers. The staff at the front desk here could not answer basic questions, did not accommodate Marriott member's requests and couldn't answer basic questions. We had a 3-day leadership meeting and spent a LOT of money on room, food, special arrangements. You'd think the hotel staff would try to accommodate the needs of these guests. A number of our meeting participants had rooms where the AC didn't work and were unbelievably dirty. The rooms were horrible-- spotted, stained carpet, chairs, wallpaper literally peeling off the wall. Hotel staff kept saying "we're going to redo the hotel". That doesn't help guests currently. I cannot recommend this hotel. In fact, RUN away and book any other hotel in the area.

Nice enough. Decor was dated. But over all the rooms were nice and staff where friendly. The outside looks like a Aztec temple. I was however disappointed to find they charge $10 for the parking lot and even though the room TV greeting advertised continental breakfast they was a buffet for $18. So went on down the rode to The range cafe best food ever...y bill was also more than quoted something to do with New Mexico tax.. they didn't say that on the website or at check in.

My husband and I travel to Albuquerque several times per year, as we own three businesses there. We always choose to stay at The Marriott Pyramid Hotel and we always have a more than wonderful stay and the staff is always extremely friendly. Well, this one particular stay not even a month ago, was the most horrendous, embarrassing, disrespectful and unprofessional stay ever, by far, from every hotel I've ever stayed at in my whole entire life. In the early morning hours of the day we were supposed to check out (mind you, it was almost 4 am), the room phone rings and awakens us out of a dead sleep. I had just fallen asleep maybe 20 minutes prior to that. I was going through a miscarriage at the time and having a rough time. The gentleman at the front desk (I cannot remember his name, maybe Dennis?) informed my husband that he was conducting the night audit and that our credit card did not go through and we were to pack our things immediately or he was going to call the police department. My husband was trying to explain to him (as we did the day prior) that we had just made a payment on our credit card and that it would not post until 8 am the morning of our departure and we were informed that was not a problem at all. All of a sudden, security was at our door (his name was Brad and he was AMAZING! Extremely professional, understanding, compassionate and patient) informing us that he was very sorry but we were going to have to vacate the premises. I was on bed rest due to my miscarriage and the man from the front desk kept calling the room phone over and over and over rushing us and threatening us with the cops. We eventually were able to pack up (with Brad standing at our open door watching us, which he was only doing his job but it was still uncomfortable to be treated as if we were some hardened criminals) and as we were escorted out, I stopped at the front desk to ask for the man at the front desks name and for his bosses name as well. The man just laughed at me and walked away as I was still (very nicely and calmly) speaking to him and began to mock me as he walked to the back office. Brad was nice enough to provide me with the information I requested and apologized for the inconvenience. At this time, it's literally 7:45 am - 15 minutes away from when our credit card could have been ran and would have gone through. A couple of days later, I sent an email to the main boss there, Thaddeus, and a month later, still have yet to receive a response. Posted all over their hotel are signs that say that their mission is to ensure that every guest leave 100% satisfied and if they are not to please alert one of the staff members so the issue can be addressed. Well, that's a HORRIBLE mission statement. We will NEVER stay there again and I HIGHLY recommend that nobody else does either. Worst experience of my life. So, should you choose to not heed my warning and still stay here, good luck and stay on your toes and just hope that Dennis, or whatever his name is, isn't working. And shame on you Thaddeus for never following up with us.

Stayed for 2023 Balloon Festival. The rooms were really dated, seemed like it was never updated from the 1980s. You can hear every thing from the other rooms around you. The service was the worst we’ve had in a while. Took over an hour to get pillows and sheets for our 11yo. Then they kept knocking on the door well past 10pm. The location was good, only 8 minutes to the fairgrounds, but wouldn’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

This hotel has a good location, and the lobby bar area is renovated. The employees were nice, but that doesn’t compensate for the rooms! The rooms are terrible! Smelly, mold I think, and so dated. The furniture is from the 80s, and really worn out. The carpet smells, and is really dark. The bathrooms are awful, no amount of cleaning will make them look good. We stayed here 2 years ago for the balloon fest, and the lobby had been renovated, and they said the rooms were next, but NO! Not redone. STAY AT THE COURTYARD MARRIOTT JUST NORTH OF HERE INSTEAD!

Despite the amazing architectural style of this hotel, this place is in some desperate need of TLC. All of the hotel rooms need to be renovated. The rooms are old, with warped wall paper and carpet that causes tripping hazards. I'm pretty sure they haven't updated this place since it was first built in the 1980's, which is a real shame given how beautiful the exterior architecture is. The main lobby and restaurant are nice visually, but service in the restaurant is awful, drink selection is basically limited to canned or bottled beverages sold way overpriced. They basically don't have the liquor selection or skilled staff to do anything more advanced than a basic rum and coke. Geez even the lobby water feature seems to be in disrepair and turned off. This place is basically a glorified Motel 6. The hotel room didn't supply enough towels, pillows, and there was only 1 roll of cheap toilet paper, which of course doesn't go very far. Don't waste your time or money. Go somewhere else if you want a comfortable and enjoyable stay.

Feeling like you need a dose of 1980? Head over to this hotel. The rooms were last decorated in the 80's. I appreciated that they allowed dogs. We were traveling from NY to AZ with our dog so it was our best option. The lobby looks nice and I think with some updating this could be a nice stay.

Unbelievable customer service experience by Holly, front desk. I was given a 2pm late checkout today, which I asked for yesterday (for a $20 additional charge). Holly called my room at 1:18pm & told me that the hotel could no longer accommodate my late checkout and that my husband & I must exit our room immediately (b/c they have high occupancy). In addition, she stated that my $20 charge was not on my bill …. It was & I had to ask for a refund on a late checkout that was RUDELY not delivered. I think Holly has forgotten how & why this hotel is in business .

I was here for a meeting so I can't comment on the guest rooms. The facilities are well done, the bathrooms clean and adequate in size, and the meeting support staff are courteous, flexible and efficient. The food was above average for hotel meeting fare. Hot, flavorful, nice variety, and plenty of it. Recommended.

Dear Thad Clark, I would like to express my appreciation for your prompt response to my review. It is reassuring to see that you value customer feedback and take the time to address concerns. Your acknowledgment of the disappointment I experienced during my recent visit is commendable. While I understand that mistakes can happen and not every experience can be perfect, I appreciate your sincere apology for the poor overall dining experience I encountered. Your commitment to reviewing my comments with your staff reflects a dedication to continuous improvement, which is a crucial aspect of providing exceptional service. I am glad to hear that you take my feedback seriously and are actively working towards fostering improvement within your establishment. It is this level of dedication and willingness to listen to your customers that will ultimately lead to positive changes and an enhanced guest experience. I am open to considering a return trip in the future, as I believe in giving second chances and understanding that improvements can be made. I trust that with your commitment to excellence, the issues I encountered during my previous visit will be addressed, and I will have a more satisfactory experience. Thank you for your attentiveness and willingness to rectify the situation. I appreciate your understanding and look forward to the possibility of a more enjoyable experience in the future. Sincerely, Christopher Hardy

I first want to start off this review by applauding Drew who worked the front desk on 7/10. He was absolutely fantastic and provided exceptional service throughout our whole stay. His kindness, professionalism, and calm demeanor is the reason we decided to stay for the evening and not cancel our reservation and ask for a refund. We spent the night here on 7/10 during a cross country road trip. The lobby of the hotel is very nice, however the rooms themselves need serious updates. They are very old and out dated, however, they are clean. We got into our room around 6:30pm and quickly realized our AC was not working. I went to see if we could switch rooms when I was notified that AC for the whole hotel was out, but they had someone on their way to fix it. At 9pm I went back to the front desk (with about 15 other people there) to see if there was any update on the AC, if it wasn’t going to be fixed for the evening we were going to cancel and request a refund. Drew notified me that the AC had been fixed, but that it would take a while for the rooms to feel the change since the whole hotel needed cooling. He was very kind and politely said he understood if we wanted to cancel and get a refund but he also gave us the option of getting a box fan dropped off to our room. We chose to get the box fan and all was well the rest of the night. However, I do not think the AC ever turned on. When we checked in the morning it was still just blowing luke warm air…

Contrary to recent reviews, we had a nice stay at this location. We booked a few weeks in advance and a couple days prior to our intended stay, we saw multiple negative reviews, but it was too late to cancel without a large fee. Needless to say, we were a bit discouraged. We arrived to very pleasant and helpful staff. The lobby was grand, modern and peaceful. Fruit infused waters were offered near the entrance. Parking was $10, as mentioned by others. Seems to be a common thing to be charged for these days, although their lot appeared secluded enough to not require a fee. Our room was in the west wing and was a bit less modern than the lobby/common areas. I sort of enjoyed the older feel as it adds a bit of character and reflects the style of the building’s exterior. Besides the furniture and decor being a bit dated, the room was very clean. No stains anywhere, no weird smells, no damage or obvious wear & tear on the furniture, the AC was working just fine. Only minor inconvenience was there were available outlets on one side of the bed and not the other. Had to unplug the lamp and clock to charge accessories. Bathroom was clean as well, despite other reviews. No stains on any of the utilities. In summary, we got what we expected for the price range. Don’t be scared off from this location.

On my cross country move on 7/16 we stayed at the Marriott Pyramid North. What started off as a very frustrating and concerning situation quickly became just a small bump in the road thanks to Anthony. There was an issue in the parking lot that I was frustrated with after being assured when booking that it would not be an issue. When I went in to express my concerns, Anthony had already noticed and was on top of it. I was not in the best mood after traveling for 11.5 hours that day, but Anthony remained professional, and courteous. He heard my concerns and assured me there would not be a problem. He saw me in the lobby later and reassured me that extra steps were being taken to address the concern. What a valuable employee and just in general a kind person. Thank you Anthony for making a stressful situation manageable and truly caring. I really appreciate it! The actual location is very convenient, the 4 star rating is for Albuquerque in general due to crime and people who looked like they were up to no good in the area. However, security is present.

We had an enjoyable stay here while stopping to spend the night for a road trip. When you walk in, there is a sprawling rest and dining area, which is inviting and relaxing. Our room was simple, but had what we needed. They even included a sample bedtime lotion scented with eucalyptus. It wasn’t clear what was near by to explore but my husband and I were not there very long. If we had more time, we would have tried to see what was within walking distance. The hotel staff was friendly and welcoming. On the first night, one of the gentlemen at the front desk did not want to bother with a card transaction, so he let us have a starry soda can on the house. It was only $2 but still a nice gesture. Overall, I would stay again if in the area next time.

  • 2/5 Logan T. 8 months ago on Google
It was OK. The room was very outdated, and didn't have any extra linens for the couch bed and smelled weird. The AC also didn't work great, but wasn't awful. Otherwise, it was pretty comfortable, although the walls are pretty thin. The parking, however cost $10, even for people staying, and one of the elevators wasn't working, and the other elevator stops at every floor, so it takes forever to get up to your room. Not only that, but when we requested sheets and blankets, we had to call housekeeping twice for the sheets, and they never arrived. We ended up leaving a night early, because of how disappointing the hotel was. TLDR: its OK, but don't expect that much from it. Probably not coming back. The place has potential, but needs a lot of work done on it. **Don't play the piano. Staff will get mad, even though there wasn't a sign saying that you cant play it, until a few hours later. Not super important, but a bit annoying

BEWARE!!!!!! Whatever you do, avoid this hotel! It is definitely not up to Marriott standards. The air conditioning throughout the hotel doesn't work and they keep telling you it will be working soon. Staff is rude, rooms are disgusting. Toilet seat so old it is stained brown, bathtub won't drain, sink stopper broken, everything dirty and outdated. They have ample parking, but charge you $10 per day to park. Marriott, please take your name off this hotel!! We will never stay here again. Instead, look at the Courtyard by Marriott across the street. It looks way cleaner.

Does your team need an awesome hotel and meeting space? You found the right place. My clients expressed praise for the friendly housekeeping, efficient front desk associates, and safe parking. Engaging w sales and catering (Fiona) was a delightful experience too. In fact, when faced with numerous changes and a high-profile, short notice issue, she was highly available and empathetically accommodating.

I'm sure when it was new it was quite an expierence to stay here. The service was excellent(what little we used it). The room was dated and in need of some refreshing. I wish we had a microwave and a slightly bigger refrigerator as well. I did not know they even provided for until the last morning we were there.(no one offered the information and I failed to ask)

Came here for work conference. Check-in was smooth. Customer service was great 👍🏽, I had to change rooms in the middle of my stay. Crystal was 👍🏽 handled the situation with grace and care, I didn't have any problems. Food was good. Rooms where clean. Bed was a little too soft (but better than hard). This visit gets 10/10

This is our first stay at the Marriott Pyramid in Albuquerque and I must admit that we've been impressed. Our room is very nice and comfy. The showers are hot and have great water pressure and the bed is great. Now for the best part of our experience here - the guy behind the desk running the show tonight - Drew. We can't thank him enough for his hospitality. He went above and beyond to accommodate our family after being on the road for 15 hours. Great service and a 2a.m. check in are a rare and unusual combination, but Drew knocked it out of the park.

We love this hotel and stay every time we visit Albuquerque. We had a room with no AC and they happily moved and upgraded us, it was a smooth process so that was appreciated. The staff is professional and very kind and accommodating. It’s my understanding the hotel is severely understaffed based on their standard and the hotel was booked to capacity during our stay. You can feel that but everyone takes it in stride. Joe, the bartender was amazing and we hope y’all give him a raise! Thanks for a great experience.

My family and I enjoyed our stay here. The lobby and decor are kept very clean and there's an assortment of refreshments available near the main elevators. Ashley from the front desk was very pleasant and Brock from concierge provided us with excellent service. Housekeeping does an excellent job keeping the rooms and hallways spotless. A big bravo to the entire team that helped us during our stay. Thank you.

A fantastic place to stay. The room and bed were extremely comfortable and clean. The staff was exceptional, the building is gorgeous, there's great food and stores nearby (I'm sure theirs is great too but I chose to eat out and explore the area) and this will be my first option the next time I stop in Albuquerque.

Great Marriott. Clean, comfortable room, good bed. Air conditioner had a little trouble with the 114 degree heat outside, but did okay. Exec lounge was open with great service. Had a salad at the restaurant that was fabulous and well priced. I highly recommend.

  • 3/5 Karen N. 1 year ago on Google
Stayed here for location. Room was clean and comfortable as expected. However, the food at the restaurant was horrible. The cheese on the burrito was literally a “slice” of cheese. The fish and chips was more batter than fish and way over cooked. The meat in the taco was so tough it was inedible. I highly recommend leaving the hotel for food! Do not eat here.

The price was steep for the quality of the room. With the prices they are charging you would think they would upgrade the facility. The rooms gave off 80s/90s vibes with popcorn ceilings, old bathtubs, and 7ft ceilings. Room was clean and the staff were great. It just felt like I was at my grandmas house and for the price I would expect something a little more updated. I marked a 3 star rating due to great staff, cleanliness and location. I docked 2 stars for outdated facility/rooms and price. The photographer who took these pictures on their website deserves a raise because of the quality and angles of the pictures (fooled me!).

Renovated rooms are very nice! Adrianna is a doll! She made the check in process easy (we didn’t have a reservation) and made us feel completely welcomed. There was an issue with the bedsheets in our room and she was quick to resolve and remedy the situation. The restaurant was great as well.

I am very disappointed with this hotel. For a Marriott I would expect better service. We didn’t have any bath soap or hand wash when we arrived and when we called they said they ran out !! I’m not sure how to respond to that .. Even a holiday Inn express had soap !!! And we paid half the price for that.. The breakfast service was not that great either loll the waitress came with the bill before we were done with our food and said take your time .. lolll Is that good service ? When we pay? nothing is free !!! We r paying for the hotel .. We would expect better service .. or at least have soap in the room ! The only plus was the front desk . My interaction with the front desk was amazing .. The front desk is trained very well , they are kind and very welcoming .

Attended an event in the ballroom. This is the 8th year I have attended and I am disappointed to say it has not aged well. Not sure if Marriott has been an improvement since they took over. There were cockroaches crawling around the ballroom (on the tables at the edges of the room and floorboard), the bathrooms are looking ragged, dancefloor was cracking, carpets were threadbare in spots and taped in others. The atrium still looks awesome with the balconies and foliage throughout the interior space near the bar! But the wall plates and handrails were cracked and the floor mats were definitely well worn! The staff was wonderful and provided a high level of service and attentiveness, but the overall condition of the place has deteriorated greatly. I am not sure the condition of the rooms, but if the ballrooms show this much neglect and wear, I doubt the rooms will be much better. Parking was easy to find and the spaces are luxuriously wide along the sides of the building. It was easy to find just off the frontage road from the i25. Beautiful exterior! Pretty lighting outside!

Hotel has been upgraded since the last time I was here nice improvements. Had complimentary drinks from 430-630. Crystal Jimenez is an exceptional employee who went far and beyond to make everyone feel comfortable and special. She took time to meet and greet people as they came in, after you were seated she made sure to come check on you to make sure everything was good. She actually took time to talk to people like you were her good friend. Also the bartender Gilbert was extremely professional and friendly like a bartender should be. Two good reasons I stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights for NYE weekend. NYE night was excellent. The food and the band were excellent. Then the next morning we had an amazing breakfast and that’s when we met Gilbert. Gilbert was very friendly from the start and his service was excellent. We love the hotel and its friendly staff. Definitely coming back.

This hotel has been around a long time but you'd never know by looking.....what a beautiful facility. My Son and family stayed here but while I was there all the employee's were kind and helpful. It was clean(cleaner than a lot of the newer hotels)and the decor was lovely. Glad to know it's such a nice place still.

This hotel is definitely not worth the money at almost $100 more per night than the many other similar places, and you should definitely look elsewhere if possible. The rooms were really drab and dated. The bathrooms appeared similarly very dated: the shampoo dispenser didn't work at all; there is no fan or vents in the bathroom, so it's quite uncomfortable; and there isn't even a towel bar. The elevators take forever so you should just take the stairs. The front desk service team was friendly and nice, and the bar was nice.

  • 4/5 Kennedy C. 1 year ago on Google
Overall property is nice. Rooms are a little dated, but that has become the norm in the hospitality arena. Ate in the restaurant and it was surprisingly good. Not a large choice of options but had the fish and chips. Two large fish fillets, large wedge fries and coleslaw. Staff is very attentive and pleasant. Definitely made me feel like they're there to help me out. Bed was very comfortable, got a great night's sleep. I would stay here again. As an fyi, I travel for a living, stay at hotels over 150 nights a year.

  • 4/5 Lisa E. 10 months ago on Google
Service here is fantastic. The rooms are a little dated bit the atmosphere and services make up for that. We were lucky enough to be there at the same time they had a dog show, so it took a bit for the elevator. You can leave through the stairs directly to the parking lot, which was nice.

  • 4/5 Larry R. 10 months ago on Google
Please fix the elevator! We were there 4 days and one of the two main elevators was not working. There was a large conference going on and the elevator wait was really long. Glad we were on the 2nd floor and could take the stairs when needed. Dated hotel. We found moths in our room on arrival. Bed was comfortable as was the room. Restaurant was good.
