My daughter and I stayed at this property 1 night (thank goodness) and for the price, I expected MUCH better. It’s in desperate need of renovation. While the beds were clean and staff polite, nothing else about our stay was enjoyable or acceptable. Not a single trash can in the room. Multiple dogs barking IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT. The carpet…just gross! The area outside the hotel is also pretty sketchy. I definitely wouldn’t feel comfortable or safe arriving at night. I’ve stayed in worse, but definitely not for the price we were charged for this place. I’d rather sleep in my car than stay at this place again!

July 28 - 30, 2022. The staff were all friendly and efficient. Breakfast was on-time and as well-prepared as you could expect. The location is convenient, if not in a particularly scenic spot, but most of the affordable chain hotels in ABQ are right off one or both of the interstates. The room had an overpowering cleaner scent, masking a background mildew odor. The window opened, but had no screen. The sink drain leaked enough to leave a puddle in the bathroom. The pull-out sofa bed was bad even for a sofa bed. The guest laundry was not available. The pool, which looked nice enough in pictures to inspire my reservation, needed cleaning (lots of debris in the water). The landscaping gravel around the pool deck was filled with cigarette butts. The lack of skimming and cleanup did not inspire confidence in the pool chemistry.

I booked the room because it was right off the highway and I needed something quick and convenient. I should have read the reviews beforehand. Our first room was dirty, left over from the guest before us. Unmade beds and dirty towels everywhere. The front desk lady was very nice and apologetic. Our next room was “clean” but not really. Everything in this hotel is just kind of gross. Including the shower which had mold and scratchy bedsheets. It was also loud and I could hear people yelling at each other at all hours of the night. And our door handle to the room wasn’t in great working order either so I didn’t feel exactly safe. Breakfast was a joke and the kind of people that seemed to be in and surrounding the hotel were… different. Also, they have no drinking water. Anyways, do not recommend not even for cheap convenience of one in & out overnight off the highway.

I reserved a room for May 26, 2023. When I showed up the first room was not clean the bed had not been made and the bathroom had towels everywhere. They gave me a second room and it was the same case where the room was dirty. I ended up leaving and asking for a refund. The young man with blue eyes told me I was not charged. A few days later the charge for the room was on my credit card. I called them and they said it should disappear in a few days. It is now June 26 and the charge has not been cleared. When I call no one answers. I am fighting with my credit card company to get this transaction disputed.

Front desk ladies were very kind and helpful. Otherwise, I would not recommend, especially not with children. Surrounded by several homeless communities living directly next to the parking lot. Door handle was broken and key card took several tries before working each time. You could hear everything through the walls so it was very noisy all night. TV wouldn’t work (we finally got YouTube to cast but it took awhile). Very dirty wash cloths left on bathroom counter. Sheets felt itchy and pillows smelled weird. Pool was not open and we were not informed until we arrived. Halls smelled like smoke and floors appeared very dirty. We did not feel safe or clean at all!!

DO NOT GO TO THIS HOTEL! Staff are fast and friendly. Hotel ground are disgusting. Carpet was disgusting. Had to get extra sheet because sheets were dirty. Bathroom door didn’t have a lock and was using bifold doors on it. Carpet felt sticky and was stained and not kept clean. Def needs a renovation and update for sure.

We have stayed at this hotel in previous occasions and the condition of the rooms and facilities has gone down with each successive visit. We initially put it down to Covid restrictions but are seeing no improvement with the easing of restrictions. Hallways reek of animal urine and rooms reek of bleach trying to cover the other smells. Some electrical outlets work, some do not. We were told we had a fridge and I have medication that must be kept cool. No fridges available in room. We wanted access to US 40 but we’re hoping for some insulation from highway noise. No such luck. We are Wyndham members and have stayed at La Quinta’s for years. This one definitely needs a full renovation.

I would not stay here again. The heat was broken in our room so it was super cold all night. The blankets they have on the beds are paper thin. It’s right by the freeway so it was really loud all night. There was holes in the wall in the room and paint chipping. All the doors going into the building were either broke or blocked off, making it really inconvenient to bring our stuff in. Kind of in a rougher area. Hotel room doors jam BAD, if there’s a fire or emergency that could turn into a disaster. They did have hot breakfast which was pretty good.

Oh my. Booked a room here for a road trip, location is fine. Front desk staff is super kind and friendly and tried to accommodate as best as she could. Our first room was clean but the TV worked, so the attendant sent us down the hall to the Executive suite. I turn on the lights and the trash cans are overflowing with garbage, the bed looked slept in, and the bathroom is atrocious. A skinny used bar of soap was on the counter and the sink hadn't been cleaned. We were too tired to change rooms so we sucked it up. At 3 am the fire alarm went off for a solid 2 minutes. We tried to get out of the room and the door lock jams really badly. Looked outside and no one else had come out. This hotel is in desperate need of cleaning staff and a renovation in the bathrooms. The grout is beyond repair.

We stayed at this property during a cross country trip. We arrived in ABQ late at night and needed a place to stay. Upon driving up it was very sketchy looking. They had the door locked except for those with a room key (probably smart) and what looked to be a security guard walking around outside. The check in staff was friendly but broke a cardinal rule. You NEVER verbally tell a guest what their room number is for guest safety and he did it 3 times! Upon entering the room we found the air conditioner was broken. Luckily they were able to move us to a room across the hall. The property has definitely seen it's better days. They could use a renovation. It didn't smell that great, the one elevator we saw was extremely slow. The hotel in general was worn down, the room was dated, and just not very comfortable. Overall I would not recommend this hotel unless you have no where else to go. Also, for the price? No thanks.

Worst hotel stay of my life. Booked online, no problem. Checked in. It took the front desk personnel 3 trys to get the room key to work. Each time taking 20 minutes with my wife waiting in the hallway by our room door with our luggage. At first glance, the room looked ok. After settling in we went to check out the place. We booked the room because it was advertised as having a spa and pool. Well it does, they were both closed for repairs. (OK, maybe I should have asked when checking in) So we go back to the room and decide to see what is on TV. The guide shows 47 channels. We could get 3 to work sometimes, the channel would lock up and we had to power cycle the TV to get it back for a few minutes. Decided to take a shower and get ready for bed. The shower would not get worm, let alone hot enough for a decent shower. After my wife got her slightly warm shower, she tried the hair blow dryer. You guessed it. The thing will not power on. Tried calling the front desk for each of these problems. Never got an answer. Went to the front desk and there is 1 person out front helping other customers with complaints and 2 employees hiding in the back pretending to be working, so I gave up. Bottom line pass on by this place if you want an enjoyable stay.

Gave 1 star because 0 was not and option. Don’t even waste your time and money. Don’t even waste your money. Location is okay, but next to very run down hotels. Front desk was disappointing, sad excuse for a receptionist. No customer service skills and had no idea when the pool closed, told me 9 so we squeezed in a quick fast food dinner for my kiddos just to get them all ready and the pool was shut down with a sign that clearly says close at 8. Embarrassing that you don’t even know your work’s amenities hours. We are traveling to our new home across the state and happened to have to make a stop here after a 12 hour drive. My kids were looking forward to a little swim, if it’s closed be transparent about it. Then I complained that he gave me the wrong hours and he told me I’ll take $15-$20 off your stay. I asked for a receipt and he refused saying he can’t generate it until I check out. No discount, no receipt was ever provided. Water pressure for showers were horrible and the water BARELY got warm enough for comfort for one shower for a family of 4. Also, make sure you request the bed size that best fits your comfort because if you assume they will make their best judgement because they work there you’re out of luck, in my case you’ll get 2 super small beds for a family of 4. No common sense at all. TV also missing volume remote and the buttons didn’t work manually so you’re left with a super loud TV. I 100% do NOT recommend.

Do not stay at this hotel. The pictures looked nice at first glance so we decided to stay here while traveling. The road leading to the hotel was filled with potholes. The lobby was nice enough but once we got into the elevator we knew we messed up. There’s graffiti in the elevator and the buttons look like they’re about to fall out. Walking down the hallway I couldn’t help but notice that there wasn’t a single door that didn’t have multiple dents or gouges. Upon reaching my door I was delighted to see that the door knob was coming off the door at an angle like the door had been kicked in. Once in the room the room smelt like cigarettes. The door latch was missing screws and was barely clinging to the door. The bathtub had old stains in it and the mattress felt old and springy. La Quinta by Wyndham hotels used to be our go to hotels because of their pet friendly policies but the last two we’ve stayed at have clearly shown is that this chain has clearly gone down hill.

We used to stay at this property once a month and we'll never stay here again. They charged us twice for the room. the room had no curtains the TV in the bedroom did not work. The staff tried their best to fix the room but it couldn't be done they don't have enough equipment to keep the rooms up and running it's very shabby and run down. They allow homeless people to roam the halls at night. The security they have there is a joke because no one ever does anything except keep the doors locked. Very unsafe. The assistant general manager Mr. Jones has a total disregard for customers and has no customer service skills at all. His response was just email me if you have any further problems he had no interest in trying to take care of our problem. He felt like arguing with us was a better use of his time instead of trying to take care of the problem and make sure we were treated fairly and not taken advantage of. Beware staying at this property. Management has no integrity. Very deceitful and very shady.

I expected more. To be fair, I didn’t make the reservations, maybe my expectations would have been better managed if I did. We had guests from out of town booked to stay here. The location was favourable because of proximity to our event venue. Front desk service was personable. The lift was ancient & defaced (people need to behave better), it did its job though. The room (I went through one) was acceptable. I remember thinking that the carpet needed some deep/thorough washing. It was IMO dirty, it would stain bare feet or light coloured socks. Our guests checked in & had to leave immediately to run errands around town so they couldn’t settle in. When they returned later that evening they had to change their room because the floor was noisy & there was some issues with the lock on their door if I remember well. The new room was no better, they could perceive the smell of weed being smoked somewhere on the floor & the noise persisted. In their words “…the entire place felt seedy at nighttime..,” They had to change hotels for their peace of mind which was much better and comfortable. It was further away but they didn’t mind the drive as they had all round satisfaction & even extended their stay at the new one.

Checked in for 3 rooms. Needed to get the keys programmed 3 different times to get into the rooms. 2 of the 3 rooms. The other room worked, but there is a half in gap from door to frame. My room, I had gotten in my room and dropped my bags off. Went to help with my mom's room. Afterward, I could not get back into my room. It took 1.5 hours for them to get the door unlocked to retrieve my bags. There is no courtesy of a credit or complimentary offer. The young lady working worked hard to get my bag. Even though their emergency maintenance person was said to be there in 10 minutes, they never showed. I appreciate her help. I am sure this is an ongoing issue based on comments I heard flying around. I would suggest the hotel fix their deficient equipment. People pull in tired, like myself. I should have the ability to rest when I pay good money to do so.

I don't know why there was so many negative reviews. My room was great, clean and the bed very comfortable. The staff super friendly. The free breakfast although not fancy was filling. If there isn't much offered get up earlier and get it when it comes out. They had the times posted on front desk. Tv worked great as did the ac. Neighborhood was a little sketch but that is not the fault of the hotel. The elevator was small but I wasn't sleeping in it.

Listen to the other reviews about both room quality and the surrounding area. It's not a place you want to walk around in. The hotel is dirty from top to bottom, which I could almost ignore with a clean room. Unfortunately our first room still had hair (looked like from a pet) still on the bed, the TV was missing from the wall, and the bathroom counter & mirrors were not cleaned. We asked for another room and this one had hairs all in the bathtub/shower along with the carpet and couch being stained to all hell. With a toddler, we couldn't accept it and left before spending the night Trash in the halls, holes in both rooms because they can't understand what a doorstop is, and everything is just so dirty looking. If you're gonna charge hotel prices, it needs to not look like a dingy motel. Service was lovely though

The staff was very friendly and there was breakfast offered, which were the positives of our stay. Now for the negatives.. I did not feel safe at this hotel. We arrived in the evening and noticed that the area is near a homeless camp. This is fine as the homeless need to go somewhere, however, they should not be inside the hotel unless they are guests. I had to get up early in the morning to let our dog out and found two homeless men sleeping in the stairwell in the back up on the 5th floor. We later noticed that the back entrance was being propped open with a rock and guessed that was how they entered. The second night I again had to get up early and found a woman wandering the hallway who did not appear to have a room. Coming back into the hotel from outside, the key did not work at the front and there was nobody at the front desk to buzz me in. I had to walk around to the side entrance and found that the door was just unlocked, not requiring any key, so also possibly another point of access for people who are not guests. We also had issues with cleanliness but these were secondary to what I mentioned above. We will not be staying here again.

Don't stay at this hotel. The hallways smell like urine. They allow pets in the hotel and they obviously don't clean up afterwards. Our room smelled like rubber burning. The breakfast was a joke. All prepackaged items and hard boiled eggs. They advertise a hot breakfast, its hardly a hot breakfast. Asked the front desk and they said due to covid restrictions in the state, it was limited. We stayed at another hotel in a better part of town and we had a full hot breakfast. Its just excuses for them to charge more and offer less. Couldn't sleep to well as I was afraid that our car would be broken into to. The homeless people are in all the parking lots of all the hotels in this area...Hampton, Comfort, and Quality. There is a homeless camp just across the street.

We're truck drivers and were broke down in Albuquerque. We started out at the truck stop because the shop didn't open until Monday. We got our room which was very clean. All of the employees we encountered were all so very friendly and accommodating. We had to take our stay one day at a time due to not knowing when our truck would be ready, the ladies at the front desk were always ready to answer questions or if we needed something. The weather was kind of cool so we didn't go in the pool, but it was clean and the pool area well kept. We noticed other guests taking advantage of the hot tub. The hotel is smoke free but there are places outside that are set up for smokers. The hotel is pet friendly. Breakfast is grab and go due to Covid restrictions but they do offer some hood choices. Would definitely recommend staying here.

This place is a dump in a dumpy area. My room didn’t even have hot water, it just got kinda warm and the water pressure would also rate 1/5. The place looks run down, and the staff are really slow to check you in.

I’ve stayed in some pretty sketchy areas before, but this one 👀. The homeless population is out of control in this area- We arrived late, unloaded and decided to grab a bite to eat from McDonald’s 0.2 miles from hotel… while STUCK in the line we observed no less than 15 homeless individuals hanging around the McDonald and were OPENLY SMOKING DRUGS OFF OF FOIL. Not even attempting to hide it. We left as soon as the line moved enough for us to get out. We get back to the hotel and there were now multiple individuals inside and surrounding the hotel property. They had us park our uhaul under a camera and lights. The room was decent, it’s just the area 🤦🏼‍♀️

Pros: Clean rooms & comfortable beds. Shower had plenty of hot water with good water pressure and had a safety bar. Staff was friendly even though I checked in really late. There's also a outdoor pool with a heated hot tub/spa. (Didn't use it, but nice feature). In looking for a water fountain, I found one in the fitness center and decided to try it out. It was a very basic one with an elliptical, cycle, and treadmill + 3 weight balls. It was decent considering that and it was clean and alcohol wipes were provided for those sensitive to infection. Only one Con: I expected free breakfast and due to a flood sometime last night in their kitchen, so the breakfast I was looking forward to was cancelled. They are giving a refund of ten dollars off your bill, but it would've been better if they had some breakfast alternative.

Out dated and handle to rooms stick, but it was clean, convenient, and pet friendly. The area was a little sketchy, so I asked the girl at the front desk if my car would be safe out in the parking area, and she said yes. It was, so that was nice.

This place definitely gives me the creeps. The only good thing is the staff are friendly and efficient, so I’ll give it 2 stars. And we were able to bring our dogs, however they charge a $25 cleaning fee per pet, yet it doesn’t seem like much cleaning happens around here. I got bit by something in the middle of the night and I’m super stressed it was from a bed bug. Also heard the receptionist say something about people using the rooms to “cook” here. Lots of questionable activity at night. The breakfast is decent.

Me and my wife ended staying here for the weekend due to our 18 wheeler being broken down, so our company reserved this hotel. At the Beginning we were not to sure about it but it turned out to be great. Great room great staff great service in our opinion they exceeded expectations at all levels.

It's not in the best part of town, but it's easy to access and easy to get to. The rooms were reasonably priced. Somebody might have kicked the door in at one point. The freeway is rather loud when you're trying to sleep, but other than that the service was great. The breakfast was very good and it definitely suited my needs.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙᴏʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏᴍ when booking a hotel. This site will compare thousands of booking web sites and typically will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in the area. I've been staying here for a very long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't be disappointed. La Quinta staff was absolutely friendly. Rooms were clean. Love seeing that pets were welcomed. I will definitely be back, and highly recommend this hotel. Thank you for the kindness and welcoming hospitality.

  • 2/5 Jayme H. 6 months ago on Google
The first room I was assigned smelled terribly of urine, so they changed to the room across the hall. It smells of cigarette smoke and ammonia. The Freeway is literally directly outside my window so I'm really glad I brought my own fan and room deodorizer. Normally, La Quinta does a great job with their rooms but not this stay! The staff, on the other hand, was warm, inviting, and a real pleasure to work with. 5 stars for the staff, but the rest? Look elsewhere to stay the night!

Hotel is run down and dirty. Trash on the ground outside (all over, not just a few pieces), interior had dirt and smudges that could easily be cleaned if proper attention was given to cleanliness both in common areas and in the room. Also tried to get hot water from the breakfast area during breakfast service from the container labeled "hot water"....it was brown not clear like water should be... and not dark enough of a brown to have been mislabeled coffee 😬. This location is not even close to the standards I've come to expect from LaQuinta.

There was no bath towels in the room. Called the front desk and was told they would bring up and nothing. Ended up drying with a hand towel. TV remote did not work. Shower nozzles we’re messed up and turned sideways. What a hot mess! Paid $200 for the executive suite. Not worth more than $100.00. Location was perfect! That’s why this hotel received 2 stars..

At first glance the hotel appears dirty but as a housekeeper I run my fingers over all ledges and found not actual dirt but it could use a good deep clean with a magic eraser. Our table was gone from the room, the bathroom sink didn’t drain properly, the ac and cable box only work if the switch by the door is on- there were lots of things about this hotel that made me, at first glance, give pause. But the customer service was by far (and I travel a lot) the best we’ve seen. Four days and three nights and every front desk associate was helpful, kind and friendly. One in particular, ( I tried to remember her name) I think it’s kalari or something unique like that- she was phenomenal with a long line of customers and no vacancy- still going above and beyond to help everyone that stood in front of her. We had 3 different maintenance come to our room and every one of them was friendly and helpful. For the customer service alone, I’d stay here again!

  • 3/5 Alex S. 10 months ago on Google
The good? Zach at the front desk was super pleasant and helpful! First Room we checked into was not clean and the door was broken. Zach got us another room ASAP. The pretty good? Room was clean, large and no outside noise. Room next door was loud late but mgt came up and asked them to keep it down. The bad? The area around the hotel was sketch city (young homeless zombies everywhere)

Even if you're just stopping here for a quick overnight stay, I would not recommend. It was not comfortable or relaxing to stay here due to the state of the room and hotel. It was not clean, for example there were dead bugs under the bathroom counter, and the back door had to be pulled quite hard to close securely. The breakfast was okay if you're just grabbing a quick bite.

Worse room I've ever stayed in. My God people maintain at least the paint. The curtains were ripped and stained. Carpets were something out of a horror movie stains, smelled. Bathroom, just a unclean, outdated, the shower enclosure was all crud on the bottom. Glass hadn't been cleaned properly. I had been on the road for 15 hours, made a online reservation. Guy at desk was great getting me in but I hadn't seen the room. BAD, BAD,BAD.

  • 3/5 Sarah W. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms didn't have a mini fridge. Bathroom doors didn't have a lock. Other guests were really loud and we heard every door slam. On the plus side, the breakfast was great! The rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Amenities were close by.

3rd floor hallway and stairwell have strong scent of urine. Furniture in room is filthy. Room smells of mildew. Exterior hotel building doors are not secure. Elevator is in terrible shape with graffiti etched into walls. Futon mattress is very old and flimsy. Would not come back… will sleep in car next time.

Tv didn't work, couldn't get a/c to turn off so froze all night. Only two sheets on the beds, no comforter like other La Quinta, shower curtain was torn so bathroom got all wet, no hot water at 4:00 in the afternoon. Dogs in the pool fenced in area where it clearly stated no dogs were allowed. We complained and no one came to address the issue even after an hour. Once luggage cart for the whole 5 story hotel. We waited two hours for it to be returned and it never was. They gave us a $20.00 discount and no apology when we complained about all of the above. Never will I stay there again. Advise everyone else to skip staying here.

Stayed here for one night. Overall experience was good. Very clean, well maintained room, friendly staff. Plenty of parking. PET FRIENDLY! 4 stars because it's kind of hard to get to from westbound I40 - watch out for your exit and turn! Also, badge to the room was finicky and didn't open the door right away: took me a number of tries and it was very embarrassing I couldn't open the door.

We only stayed a few hours passing through for a little sleep. The girl at the counter very nice but over work by herself and the bathroom in room could use a little updating. Also so many places around to eat maybe some in house menus of restaurant options might be convenient. Overall not bad

It was great except for the fact that I specifically called in advance to make SURE they had a hot tub before we chose this hotel, and when we got there it was out of order. It's ridiculous how many hotels do this. I get not bringing it up but they should be honest when asked. Then a fire alarm blared throughout the entire hotel at 5:00 am, so that all of the guests were running up and down the hallways, so even after it stopped was impossible to go back to sleep. Nothing was ever said or explained by any employees.

  • 3/5 dairysf 1 year ago on Google
Definitely nothing special. Why 3 stars? Only because the staff was nice and ended up compensating us. We arrived at 8 pm, were given a key to a room that was being cleaned, yes, we had to wait in the hallway for our room to be cleaned. After it was cleaned, we still did not have towels, the couch had a stain, and there was trash on the floor. We requested towels be brought to our room. When we got back to our room, we had 4 floor mats and no towels. Requested towels the next morning and none were available because someone forgot to put them in the dryer. We were supposed to get them in 20 minutes. An hour and a half later, still no towels. After several complaints from me, my husband was able to convey his disapproval and a compensation was agreed upon. The staff was empathetic and seemed embarrassed over the situation. Also, something to note, No USB charging areas. For the price, that should be a basic commodity.
