Really liked the huevos rancheros deluxe and the tortillas. Wasn’t a fan of the chicharrones.

Gem of a place with a lovely back patio. Friendly service and good food. I got a couple of small plates from the A La Carte menu since this was my second lunch of the day. Cheese enchilada with red chili had just the right kick with a nice red sauce with simple shredded cheese on top. Carne Adovada taco has a giant chunk of delicious pork in it. Wow, this is one taco that is worth the price. I might prefer queso fresco or that crumbly Mexican cheese to shredded cheddar and mozzarella, but it still works. Gotta give another shout out to the friendly staff full of sweet ladies. Come try it, you’ll enjoy it. 😋

This place is amazing! The sign when we walked in said to please be patient, short staffed. Service and food was quick! Extremely friendly staff and excellent food. We had the Deluxe Huevos Rancheros. Delicious! I highly recommend this place!

My husband a Veteran and I went see if there was a Vet special today on Veterans. No honor for Vets at Barelas Coffee. We both ordered Pancakes which were cold, sausage was cold and my husband I both had half an egg, see photo. You can see butter didn't melt, I was highly disappointed. The cashier who also delivered our food was aware. She did not ask us how our food was did ask the gentlemen in front of us, but she knew what we got she delivered. First time and last time we eat at Barelas Coffee.

The food here is down to earth. If you visited a Mexican household, this is the kind of food the Grandma would cook for you with love and care. The staff is fantastic even though they were shorthanded. They zipped around attending to every table with patience. Next time I'm in town, I would come back to try their other menu items.

I ordered typical breakfast eggs bacon and green chili. The food was great! They offered tortillas. They have a traditional NM menu. The servers were very friendly. I was impressed with the quick turn around. The food was hot as expected. I will definitely return. This place is a family business and it shows. Well worth the visit. They also have a shop with NM gifts.

This is one of my favorite places to get breakfast in ABQ. I haven't had something that I didn't like here. All the food is amazing. Service is always excellent, and the restaurant itself is charming and a wonderful environment.

This place was amazing. I got enchiladas that had green and red chili. It was some of the best enchiladas that I've had in a long time. It is very authentic and reminds me of home. Everything was seasoned beautifully. The spice/ heat was perfect. The customer service was okay. The chili relleno was so great. It wasn't just a green pepper that is tasteless. I ate way more than I should've.

5 🌟 when I left the line was at least 40 people plus long that were waiting. Best pick so far in my road trip!

I've been coming here for years, but have never rated it. Brought my wife here for brunch this morning. She had huevos deluxe with green and I had it with red, with carne adovada on the side. Their recipes haven't changed in 20 years. The food came out fast and hot, and our waitress was entertaining. We of course ran into friends and family while we were there, as that's the kind of institution Barela's is. Be prepared to wait during busy times, but realize it's totally worth it.

I was invited to enjoy brunch at Barelas with family a few weeks ago. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The food was good but a little pricey for Mexican food but it was worth it as portions are huge and the chili is great! The gift shop is reasonably priced. I'd go back for the green chili!

The beans, rice and salsa are awesome. I’m sure you can’t go wrong with any of the meals. Had mixed taco plate.

Barelas Coffee House offers a great variety of very authentic New Mexican foods for breakfasts and lunches. We thoroughly enjoyed the Egg Burrito Deluxe and Pancakes, the Two Egg Breakfast with Bacon, and the Carne Adovada & Eggs with Sausage - all smothered with delicious red and green chile sauce. Everything was cooked perfectly, service was quick and friendly, and prices were very reasonable. Quaint atmosphere too! This is an outstanding New Mexican restaurant! Definitely will return often.

I've not been here in over 15 years but went for lunch Wednesday. Was a bit on the full side, and busy, so keep that in mind if you intend to go. Food was great, I had breakfast for lunch: nice scrambled eggs with just enough red chili; great bacon strips that were cooked just right; and hash browns. The only thing I'd want is home fries instead of hash browns, because that would've made it perfect. Coffee was great.

We stopped here on a super short trip to Albuquerque. All staff were incredibly nice and attentive, and the food was great. Very homey atmosphere. There’s a huge line here for a reason.

I’ve eaten a lot of New Mexican food here in Albuquerque and Barelas is hands down the best. Everything I ordered was DELICIOUS. If you’re on the fence between this place and another just go here you won’t regret it. Our server Donna was so friendly and made us feel at home.

Really neat place to visit if you're in the coffee, burrito and cinnamon rolls were delicious. The lady taking orders was one of the nicest people I've ever met. Her smile truly made our family's day

Out of towner, passing thru Albuquerque. A friend recommended and I'm very glad I went. Food was delish! Service was good. Only odd thing was the wait in line to pay...the place was packed which I suspect is normal.

Dang, so good. I’m still shaking from the adobado plate for breakfast. Staff, super welcoming and chilled. Feels like the type of neighborhood cafe where everyone knows each other. New Mexican food is the dope and this place rocks it.

My mom and I saw Barelas coffee house aired on our local news station, so we decided to try it out. I'm SO thrilled that we did. It's the best New Mexican restaurant in Albuquerque. And if I had to guess it's probably the best in the whole state of NM. The green chili is so outstanding!!! I've only eaten at one other restaurant that has green chili like their's, which you'll find it at El Rancho in Gallup NM. It's busy, for good reason, but don't leave. I assure you it's every bit worth the wait. We now dine there every Tuesday. If I had my way I'd eat there twice a week. No joke!! Delicious in all the ways!😊

It was very busy today (December 31st) but we were happy to be here to enjoy great coffee and great food. Our waitress was attentive to our needs and requests. The temperature of the food could have been alittle hotter but we understood. Still great flavor. We will be back for sure.

The service and food was awesome. Back in 2013 I ate here and ended up getting a moldy tortilla. I decided to give them another chance and was very very impressed. My server was wonderful and the food was excellent. Keep up the Good Work❤
