Ordered the croque madame… pass on this. If you’ll notice the photo, it was two pieces of stale bread that had a rancid oil flavor and the eggs seemed like powdered eggs, not fresh eggs. Breakfast tacos were completely soggy. Side salad looked old and like the lettuce wasn’t washed. I don’t know why this place has such high ratings.

What a perfect place to have breakfast!!! We went every day during our stay. Not only is the quality of the food they serve superb but the owner and his staff are amazing. You can really tell when someone takes pride in what they do and in this restaurant, they all do! When I explained I do not eat meat, I was immediately offered a substitution. Since they are well known for their pancakes, they gave us a free pancake to try out. You go in and you feel a warm welcome... Do not miss it, you will not regret it! And if you do not have time to dine in, they have a drive through!!! They also offer catering.

Driving home to Texas on the way from Durango and saw the amazing reviews. This place did not disappoint! The food quality, quantity, and top rate customer service! The owner brought us carne adobada and a blueberry pancake on the house for us to try. This place is what it’s about!! 5 Stars all the way, Thank You George and your amazing staff!

I was in a party of five at 1115 am on a Saturday. The restaurant was extremely busy. We had to wait a bit for a table to clear out. Central Grill is the type of restaurant where you order at the counter, and then they bring you your order when it's ready, but you do not have a typical server. Most of us ordered coffee, and the pot available for the customers was empty during the visit. Hence, we had to wait in line like we were ordering food to get coffee refills, and that was cumbersome, considering they were very busy while we were there. I had the carne adovada frito pie with eggs and red chile. The Frito pie was underwhelming. The dish had very little carne adovada. The red chile was barely noticeable. The dish was very bland. This was my first visit, so I plan to visit again soon and order something different.

Nice breakfast here. Fast and friendly service. I love the ham on the side of All American Breakfast, tasty and delicious. We also enjoyed the famous Blueberry Pancakes. Simply delicious!

Fast casual spot, order at the counter and theyll bring the food out to you. Spacious patio with self service station; ice water, hot coffee, sugar, cream. Delicious food. Friendly staff.

Short Version: DO NOT EAT HERE YOU WILL GET SICK! Long Version: After reading all the stellar reviews for this place, my wife and I decided to check it out. You order at the counter and pay/leave tip before service. The place was packed so I figured it must be good. Server said it would take 20 minutes. Seemed like a long time for pancakes and a breakfast sandwich, but whatever. After waiting 10 minutes for a dirty table to be bussed I asked for a refill (they don't bring them to you) and for the table to be bussed so we could sit down. The gal behind the counter rolled her eyes and snippily said "We'll be with you shortly." 10 minutes later, someone finally bussed the table, but only wiped off half of it with a rag that had clearly been well used. After being entertained for a total of 40 minutes by the multiple flies buzzing around and my seat bouncing up and down every time the ADHD kid next to me moved, I had to inquire again where our food was as it was already twice as long as they claimed. Three minutes later the food came out, and it was so underwhelming. As you can see in the picture, there is only the smallest dot of a sausage patty, and the eggs/cheese were completely overwhelmed by the biscuit. My "world famous" pancakes were cold and flavorless. My wife's croque madame was equally poorly made and tasteless, but the biggest issue was the hash browns. She had me try them to confirm, but they were made with RANCID OLD OIL. For the first time in my life, I spit out the food at a restaurant because it was inedible. I would have asked for a refund, but given the speed of service, I didn't want to wait, I just wanted to leave. As we were leaving, I had to dodge a server dumping water over the patio barrier, because apparently that's how they do things. How this place hasn't been closed down by the health department is beyond me, much less how it's one of the top rated restaurants in Albuquerque. The Range, Flying Star, hell, even McDonalds all offer faster service, better food and a cleaner environment. Avoid this dump at all costs!

4.6 / 5.0 This was a pretty popular place that we found and we wanted to try it. My girlfriend and I both got steak and eggs as we were pretty hungry from an early dinner the night prior. The food was absolutely delicious and I left wanting more. I got the toffee latte as recommended by our server while my girlfriend got the toffee cappuccino. I enjoyed my drink and I am certain it will be very useful for my long drive ahead. Very friendly staff and a well maintained restaurant overall. I would recommend coming here for breakfast/brunch.

I had the smothered adobada burrito smothered and it was so good!! It was pretty spicy but not to the point where it lost flavor! A must try! The iced latte was also great, pretty hard to find a breakfast where you can have a good meal and iced latte at the same time. A must visit when coming to Albuquerque.

This is definitely the spot where the locals come. It’s always busy and the prices are super reasonable. The food is good too and the service was simply outstanding. They have a very compassionate staff and they made several good recommendations. It’s nice to still see a place that truly cares about their guests!

This place was so special!!! The food was incredible, the pork soup was literally everything I was craving for two days, the pancakes were delicious as well. With the being said, the owner was one of the best humans I’ve ever encountered. You can see and feel how much pride he takes on giving excellent service!! Definitely recommend stopping by!

Such a great find! Be prepared to wait, especially on the weekends, per the staff. Outgoing staff and great food worth the wait. We had the All American Breakfast and Chile Rellenos special. Delish! The best Green Chile I have had in NM so far. We will be back for sure!

The food was good (above average) and the beans were the real deal. The place seemed like it had its regulars and felt homie. The prices were average and it's very clean. I think that's what I was most impressed with, was the owner/manager walking around and picking up plates and cleaning. You can tell he's proud of his business and led by example. A very rare thing these days. All in all I would come back and I do recommend you give this place a try!

The service was top-tier. The coffee the guy made was the BEST latte I’ve ever had, and the pancakes were Amazing! 🙌 However, the rest of the review was not that great. The eggs and bacon were just regular (not bad, but not great). The hashbrowns were completely unseasoned. And the biscuit was hard! And I’m not sure if it was because I was in the corner of the restaurant, but the smell was horrible! It had a wet pet smell. Could have been that particular day, but that was my experience. I would go back (order to-go) for the coffee and pancakes.

It was a last stop before we headed out of town, and I'm so glad we did! From the delicious grande burritos to the amazing pancakes. Everything on the menu was well thought out and cooked to perfection. Anytime we are back in Albuquerque, we know where we will be having breakfast! Also, the cinnamon rolls and desserts are a must!

Cozy and relaxed restaurant with a friendly diner feel and serious breakfast comfort food. The employees take extra care to ensure you're enjoying the experience and are super friendly. A great vegetarian option is huevos rancheros with pepitas or hash browns.

A tasty place to stop for breakfast. I highly recommend their pancakes and flavored lattes. It is not hard to see why they were rated the best in the city. The service here is excellent. Every member of the staff we encountered worked to make sure we we’re having a great experience.

We enjoyed our breakfast and the coffee. The Central Grill & Coffee House is a place I certainly recommend. We had breakfast at this amazing place during the International Balloon Fiesta. Therefore, it was really crowded. However, we did not have to wait too long. You order at the bar and the breakfast is directly brought to your table. Tables are clean and the staff members are very helpful and friendly.

First time visiting Central Grill and I was Very impressed by how Great the customer service is here ♡ and then there are the Flavors ! The food here tastes Homemade like what you would eat at your Abuela's (grandmother's) Table. Met a very nice gentleman named George Griego who came by to introduce himself and to make sure my family and I were taken care of. His kind demeanor and attentiveness I won't forget --and I post these pics with Hopes that Each of you reading this Will Stop By and Enjoy it at Central Grill just like we did... spot is right across from Actual Old Town! ♡ THANKS, MR. GEORGE ! ☆☆☆☆☆

My son and I took a road trip through the southwest. Ate at many highly recommended restaurants and this was the best meal we had the entire 10 day trip. I ordered the banana french toast - yum! It was a little loud inside the restaurant, but there was ample seating in the covered patio and fans to keep things cool.

Great local spot! We stayed in old town and this was one of only a couple of places open at 7am for breakfast. Really glad we chose this one! I had the grande breakfast burrito with ham and smothered in green chile, shown in photo. (to go) My wife had the Jr burrito Xmas which was more of a hand burrito. She thought it was excellent as well. Red was definitely hotter than the green. The people were extremely friendly, definitely go if you're in the area! Their sandwiches and other meals look great too. Also note that prices are slightly higher than the photos of the menu due to inflation

This is another of my favorite places to eat. The food never disappoints. The red chile is probably the best in town. The service is always excellent! Editing this review to add this: the owner is always super nice and he acclaims their pancakes as "the best on the planet" so we tried the blueberry pancake on our last visit and yes he was right it was out of this world delicious!!!😋

What a delightful breakfast we had at Central Grill and Coffee House! We ordered the Eggs Benedict and a towering stack of pancakes. While both dishes were excellent, the pancakes truly stole the show – fluffy, mouthwatering, and perfect! We couldn't help but wonder if we should have taken a leap of breakfast faith and sampled their tempting breakfast burrito. Perhaps next time! If you're on the hunt for a superb breakfast experience, this is the place to go!

The guy at the front desk was super welcoming and friendly. The rest of the service was only okay, but not very attentive to needs like water or butter. The single bathroom outside the building is not very convenient, and was out of soap on my visit which felt pretty gross. The food was mostly good!

We ordered blueberry pancakes, strawberry pancakes, banana french toast, breakfast taco, and huevos rancheros. I didn’t get a picture of everything before we started and there was not much left at the very end. Coffee was strong and perfect. Breakfast is our favorite meal and this place definitely did not disappoint! Do yourself a favor and go try it!

A quick and casual place that has all day breakfast. I tried the Huevos Rancheros with the red sauce and it was really good. Perfect portion and the red sauce was the highlight. The blueberry pancakes were also really freaking good. If you order the blue corn pancakes get a side of fruit and whipped cream with it so it’s not too plain. I took their sticky bun Togo and I’m enjoying it too. Their menu also had a lot of options to choose from. I would recommend this place for quick tasty breakfast.

We both had the chilaquiles and we were so disappointed. There was about 6-8 chips…. Drowning in sauce so they weren’t crunchy. Zero green or veggies on the dish. Didn’t come with eggs. The beans were refried beans- so more mush. Worst chilaquiles I’ve experience. We won’t be back :(

Delicious, quality homemade food! Went twice for breakfast on two different visits and both times the food was exemplary. Short line for counter service when you order but don't let that discourage you thinking I want a sit down breakfast. They bring it to your table on real plates with silverware, napkins, etc. The owner or manager circulates the two dining rooms to ensure everyone is satisfied and offers some clean, humorous jokes to make you smile. Their green chili in the breakfast meals is packed with flavor! My breakfast taco was the perfect size to have a sausage breakfast dog too. Plenty of parking with an over-flow lot next door. I highly recommend Central Grill as a casual yet delicious breakfast spot!!
