Avoid if possible. There were only a handful of nurses that were nice. The rest complained about how we werenā€™t the only one with ā€œproblemsā€. As stated in other reviews, they will NOT notify you when family/friends call. There are no visitors but you get your cell phone for an hour everyday. I was told since I would be voluntarily admitting myself, I would have the opportunity to leave when I wanted. That was not the case. Thereā€™s a 24 hour hold, then they must conduct a meeting before you are discharged. I didnā€™t see my social worker until the second to last day of my stay. You get better treatment if youā€™re med compliant. Group therapy is coloring in one of the rooms. Supplies tend to be low. It took a whole day and a half for them to find my personal clothes that were dropped off (they were sitting in laundry). They donā€™t do much if other patients are harassing you. The showers are a bit terrifying and gross, but they give you a bath sheet to lay on the floor. If you do have to stay, BRING A BLANKET. Iā€™m so lucky I had mine because they give a flat ā€œpillowā€ and a paper thin hospital blanket. The rooms havenā€™t been renovated, so thereā€™s several drawings and other markings that could trigger several other patients into psychosis. I hadnā€™t mentioned anything regarding my nightmares or lack of sleep, however the put me on Remeron which increased my vivid nightmares. The food isnā€™t too bad. Thanks to the very few nurses that made my visit easier.

Communication is nonexistent. Treatment is just the bare minimum effort. Basically just a holding cell until you say you donā€™t want to hurt yourself anymore. No real solutions to peoplesā€™ problems that led them there. Their caseworkers and social workers are a joke. They will just throw you out onto the street, even if youā€™re homeless, once they deem you ā€œstable.ā€ Basically just an adult babysitter. Also contrary to the previous reviews they do NOT have classes hourly every day, more like 1 to 2 classes a day. They also do NOT allow visitors. It is accurate that they do not answer patient phones or tell them when they have phone calls come in. Your loved one/family member could be dead for a week and you would never know.

Some of the staff are good and helpful, however, their management and policies need to be reviewed and they need to update their website. We read online that they encourage families to visit and we called twice to verify the visitation times, however, after driving >200 miles one-way, we were told that we would have to return the next day. So basically, we wasted 8 hours and more than a full tank of fuel and I still haven't been able to see my son. As for their releasing him, that is already messed up and no one wants to talk or even allow my son to contact his parents. While their answering service is good, their actual communications between the staff who know the answers and the families who need the answers is non-existent.

Avoid, avoid, avoid! Our adult daughter was transferred here because no beds were available at Presbyterian Behavioral Health. Communication with staff was non-existent. The caseworkers / social workers will LIE, LIE, LIE to you. Case in point: our daughter's discharge plan included two follow-up appointments with various providers and a referral to another facility for their transitional living facility. We arrived at both appointments and learned that no such appointments had ever been made. After not hearing from the transitional living facility for 3 weeks, we called and found out that Haven never sent any referral.

I had no intention of writing a review when I went to this website. I was seeking information on insurance coverage in an attempt to help a good friend. After I read a number of very negative reviews, I decided that I must counter regarding my experience as a patient summer of 2015. I was a voluntary admission due to a very deep depression that I was afraid was tied to another doctorā€™s mistake on medications. I was a patient for 3 days and those days were some of the best in my life. Without a doubt they saved my life! I met with a psychiatrist (not a psychologist) for a full hour each of the 3 days I was there. Where would that kind of care be possible unless in a hospital setting and that isnā€™t even a given. In first five minutes he confirmed my beliefs regarding former doctor and the mistake he made about medications. He even went the extra mile and helped me immensely with an extremely difficult situation with my former husband who had just received a cancer diagnosis. He taught me the tools that I needed in order to deal with the situation. Weeks later I ended up doing exactly what he had suggested. I soon learned that with a depression diagnosis, the more often you get out of your room and participate in their programs/sessions the sooner you get out! A new program is offered HOURLY for 8 straight hours! I went to every one for 2 straight days and benefited from each one except one that I felt was too elementary. I ate every meal in cafeteria as opposed to my room. Obviously, the food is not Club Med but for Peteā€™s sake it is a hospital! I usually cleaned my plate. Is it scary? You bet! But the only way you can benefit is by meeting their staff half way and cooperate. You have to get out of the confines of your room!

Had a fairly positive experience until they released me. I was only given 7 days of certain meds even though they were fully aware I had no primary care provider to continue them and would not be able to acquire one until my New Mexico insurance took effect in December. They didn't care and refused me any refills. Tried many many times to get in touch with my doctor and social worker and it took weeks to get a rude and terse return phone call in which I was basically brushed off. I have mental health problems and was on completely new meds, I was on no condition to receive any after care info, be able to sign consent forms or have the ability to carry it out and yet I was shoved out the door with no real idea of what the next steps were. They were communicated to be but VERY VERY rushed and poorly so that someone like me with my memory problems couldn't possibly retain it. Completely disappointed in my aftercare and would give zero stars if I could.

I just made a phone call to try and get an appointment there and whoever answered had a rude tone in their voice. If youā€™re working for behavior health you should probably make people feel a little better about wanting to go to your facility. I will definitely not have my referral sent there because he made me feel stupid and not wanted just by asking common questions.

Most of the nurses were kind but there's nothing to do there but coloring and maybe some TV. No one really talked with me or discussed any of my meds. Worsened my depression. Nurses there didn't do what they were supposed to. I had 11 hours of absolutely nothing. Hated it there. I stayed in the back side which seemed a little different from the front when people from the front got transferred over. Edit: they also changed up all my meds and took me off of my normal ones One of the meds was a cause for a second visit to a different hospital due to the fact that they took me off of mood stabilizers

Regardless the negative reviews, my stay there was great, nurses and doctors treated me well, and they explained to me everything they do regarding my treatment, every pill they gave me was explained to me. They treated me as a person and nurses are sociable with patients. Decy, Eric, Michael, Tim, Dana, Lloyd, Christina, Christina, Miriam, Maria, Jason ā€¦ Thank you. Massimo

As an adult this was one of the only good places I went to for my mental health, people's experiences may have been different, but mine wasn't terrible. The food was good, they allowed us to use our phones, we were isolated inside like a hospital wing, but it could've been worse (at least imo).

It was great religious practice. Unlike other churches, HBH won't have angel ghost babies trying to exorcise you as revenge. I was sent here after the... incident... at the Range Cafe. I had a fun session, but then I left and got food at Wendy's. Follow for more heartfelt reviews!

I'm a patient here now and I would have never subjected myself to this place had I known anything about it. You will not be able to sleep, they wake you up every 15 minutes and at 5 am they take blood and other things. I hate it here and I regret coming in at all.

Was in pres rust ER and was sent there for false substance abuse accusations, I went for 3 days then learned that itā€™s a detox center when I needed 1on 1 therapy. I was having liver problems and asked for medical attention and was denied. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE

Realistically I see so many negative reviews... However if you end up here really wanting to receive the help for yourself. This place is a life saver. You have to want to get better mentally for yourself. The staff does what they can but it has to start with you. The staff is not at fault

I love my doctor (dc) her and my counselor worked very hard to get me on the right path to recovery and to get mental health help and education.. I now am going to be returning to Haven for after care with my journey.

I am beyond livid at the neglect & cold treatment my daughter received here. It's clear from other negative reviews that this place needs new staff AND to review & execute policies and procedures. It is terrifying to know a place like this exist & patients come out way worse then goin in. This place should be reported. DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY.

I had the honor to be a patient of Haven. I owe my recovery to them. The substance abuse counselor was wonderful. Thank you Haven.
